I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 808: Holding in Anger
Du Ying walked downstairs. "The Eldest Miss will return to the Xianyue Sect, just not right now. After all your years in the sect, you should know why Xianyue doesn’t belong to any of the four nations."
Luo Feng and his group looked up, surprise in their eyes. Deep down, they began to understand.
The Sect Leader and the Master established a sect outside the four nations precisely because they didn’t want to be bound by them. The Xianyue Sect was not just a sect; it was the foundation and home of the Sect Leader and the Master.
"I will strictly obey the Sect Leader’s orders," Luo Feng said, standing tall and cupping his fists together. "I will manage the sect well and wait for the Sect Leader and the Master to return."
"We will strictly obey the Sect Leader’s orders!"
The deafening voices of the Xianyue Sect members echoed, clearly expressing their determination.
They finally understood!
"This is a greeting gift from the Master to the disciples. One pill per person; it will help improve your Inner Strength," Luo Xuan said, handing the medicinal pills to Luo Feng.
Luo Feng accepted them. "Thank you, Sect Leader and Master."
"Luo Feng, take over a dozen disciples and set off immediately to return to the Xianyue Sect."
"Yes," Luo Feng accepted the order.
After the Xianyue Sect disciples left, Luo Wen and Luo Xuan exchanged a glance and walked toward the stairs together.
"Du Yi is back," Du Ying said, looking at the two of them from the staircase.
Luo Xuan froze for a moment, then said coldly, "He certainly does whatever he pleases."
"The Eldest Miss trusts him."
"That’s because the Eldest Miss is kindhearted." With a cold face, Luo Xuan walked past Du Ying and headed upstairs.
Luo Wen remained silent the entire time.
Du Yi stood sideways right in the middle of the staircase landing, perfectly blocking Luo Xuan’s path.
"I am still me."
He would not betray the Eldest Miss. Even if it meant his death, he never would!
"Hmph."
Luo Xuan scoffed coldly and stepped onto the second floor.
Du Yi watched his retreating back. "Want to go grab a drink?"
"I’m afraid I can’t afford your wine," Luo Xuan replied without stopping, turning down the corridor.
Du Yi stood rooted to the spot.
Luo Wen came upstairs and glanced at Du Yi. "When you chose to stay by the Eighth Prince’s side back then, the resentment in his heart began to fester. He’s been suppressing it for years. Even if the Eldest Miss trusts you, his grudge won’t disappear so easily."
"I know," Du Yi said.
"We served together for many years. Now that the Eldest Miss has allowed you to return, we’ll be working together for many more years to come. Mending this rift depends on whether you can swallow your pride."
Du Yi nodded.
"Looks like you’ve enlightened a bit," Du Ying said, patting his shoulder.
Just a moment ago, he had had a ’whatever’ attitude, but in the blink of an eye, he had changed his mind. How rare.
Seeing this, Luo Wen’s lips curved into an imperceptible smile. He lifted his foot and continued upstairs.
The four of them being able to follow by the Eldest Miss’s side just like before—he had dreamt of this scene many times.
In a private room on the fifth floor.
Before Huang Lihua could finish her cup of tea, she saw Ye Qianning walk in. She hurriedly set her cup down and stood up. "Miss Ye."
"I’m truly sorry for making you wait, Miss Huang," Ye Qianning said as she walked in, carrying a bolt of fabric wrapped in red silk in her arms.
"Not at all, I just..." Huang Lihua’s gaze inadvertently caught a glimpse of a small white figure, and surprise filled her eyes.
Dun Dun’s tiny body was pressed against Ye Qianning’s calf. Seeing the human staring at it like that, it shifted its paws and tucked its head behind her leg to hide.
Huang Lihua took in the fluffy creature’s little movements. Her surprise quickly turned into delight as she bent down to pet it. "What is this..."
"HISSS."
Dun Dun’s eyes flashed fiercely as it bared its teeth.
Frightened, Huang Lihua immediately retracted her hand.
"Miss Huang, it is afraid of strangers and doesn’t like others touching it." Ye Qianning bent slightly and patted Dun Dun’s head.
Clutching Ye Qianning’s dress, Dun Dun peeked out with one eye to stare at Huang Lihua.
