I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 635: Sang Zhi’s Killing Intent 2
"Eighth Prince... AAGH..."
The eunuch who tried to stop him hadn’t finished his sentence before Sang Zhi’s sword pierced his chest. He fell to the ground, twitched a few times, and then breathed his last.
"Ah..."
The Empress and her attendants turned to see the scene, all of them shocked. A timid palace maid screamed in fear.
Seeing Sang Zhi, the composure Consort Yuan had just regained vanished as anger surged in her chest. Her beautiful eyes glared fiercely at the newcomer.
Sang Qi’s young face was grim. He had never seen Sang Zhi with such an expression.
Sang Zhi advanced, longsword in hand, his eyes as red as dripping blood.
"Eighth Prince, please halt." Seeing that something was amiss, one of the Imperial Guards quickly stepped forward, bowed, and tried to block his path.
Sang Zhi swung his longsword at the Imperial Guard without a hint of mercy. The guard’s figure flashed as he dodged the blade.
"Du Yi,"
he called out in a cold voice.
Du Yi, who had followed Sang Zhi into the Imperial Palace, appeared silently before the crowd. His longsword flashed out. A glint of silver, and the Imperial Guard was pierced by the blade before he could even block a single move.
Killed instantly.
Within the Imperial Palace, no one except the Imperial Guards and other escorts was permitted to carry weapons, let alone draw them in the presence of Her Majesty, the Empress.
"Who are you people? How audacious! To commit murder in public!" the Empress snapped, taking several steps back as she came to her senses.
At her cry, guards from outside the courtyard rushed in. One squad formed a protective line in front of the Empress and the Crown Prince, while another surrounded Sang Zhi and Du Yi.
"Kill them all."
Sang Zhi’s voice was soft and cold. His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like a demon.
Du Yi had followed Sang Zhi into the palace for the sole purpose of avenging his young mistress. Even without Sang Zhi’s command, he would have come to seek revenge on Noble Princess Consort Zhan.
’Exile is far too lenient for her. As long as I can kill Consort Yuan, I’m not afraid to die!’
As Sang Zhi’s voice faded, Du Yi could no longer contain himself. He brandished his sword and charged into the crowd of guards.
Every move was vicious, aimed to kill.
"Eighth Prince, how dare you be so brazen! Men, seize him!" The Empress was deeply shaken by the scene.
Sang Zhi glanced over coldly. "Your Majesty, are you looking to die as well?"
"You..."
"I’d like to see who dares to stop me." Sang Zhi’s crimson eyes swept over the guards who were about to charge.
The guards’ hearts trembled. They clearly felt a cold, murderous intent and froze, not daring to advance blindly.
The Empress also noticed the change in Sang Zhi. ’This child... he’s different from before, isn’t he?’
"Your Majesty." The governess secretly tugged on the Empress’s sleeve.
The Empress turned her head in surprise.
The governess leaned in and whispered something in her ear.
"Is what you’re saying true?" The look on the Empress’s face grew even more shocked.
"It’s a rumor from the Dragon and Qilin Hall. This servant isn’t certain, but seeing the Eighth Prince like this, I feel the rumor may not be baseless. We must be more cautious," the governess said.
The Empress was half-convinced, half-doubting, and no longer dared to act recklessly. ’The Eighth Prince dared to draw his sword on the Emperor, yet the Emperor did nothing to him. Something is very strange.’
"Judging by the Eighth Prince’s demeanor, he’s looking for Consort Yuan. Your Majesty, we shouldn’t get involved," the governess reminded her again.
The Empress understood at once. ’Consort Yuan colluded with East Shu to harm the Eighth Prince. If I were to interfere, wouldn’t I be indirectly saving her?’
"All of you, stop! Stand down!" the Empress shouted.
The guards fighting Du Yi heard the command and prepared to stop. To their surprise, their opponent showed no intention of halting; in fact, his killing intent only grew stronger.
In the instant the guards hesitated, Du Yi seized the opportunity. His strikes focused on vital points, each sword thrust a fatal blow.
Seeing this, the other guards dared not be careless and hastily resumed their attacks to defend themselves.
The Empress, also frightened by the sight, was supported by the governess as she retreated to the courtyard entrance.
