I Became a Witch and Started an Industrial Revolution
Chapter 298 : Twilight of the Gods
“Roar!Damn it!Let go with your filthy claws! No!Your strength is wrong!Where is the Witch Queen?Did you eat her?!”
The Dragon God was being strangled by Mitia, this was an enormous humiliation, but no matter how desperately he struggled he could not break free from Mitia’s claws, making him keenly realize that something was wrong,a Half-God absolutely could not possess such overwhelming strength against another of the same rank!
The other Half-Gods were just about to act and force Mitia back, but very quickly their expressions also changed one after another。
The aura emanating from the dragon-shaped Mitia before them suddenly began soaring,a continuous series of crisp cracking sounds rang out from within the surrounding gods, their Elemental Cores,Rule Origins, and Faith Power were all firmly suppressed, leaving them unable to mobilize even the slightest bit。
And to accomplish this, she necessarily had to have reached the True God realm beyond Half-God!
‘Crack crack...’
A crisp shattering sound rang out,the Dragon God suddenly felt the pressure around his neck loosen and instinctively lowered his head to take a look, that claw was still firmly hanging around his neck and swaying。
Mitia transformed back into human form, her left forearm completely empty, and as she watched the claw scatter with the wind like Porcelain powder she sighed regretfully:“Ah,couldn’t even stay cool for three seconds。”
After speaking she looked around at the Half-Gods and Main Gods desperately struggling to loosen their restraints, finally turning toward the Dragon God as the corners of her lips curved upward:“I didn’t expect you to gather everyone together for me,thanks~”
“What are you trying to do!Have you gone insane? What meaning is there in this?”
“Damn it!Stop right now!”
“Let’s talk this through let’s talk this through!I fucking just came to watch the excitement!!!”
Mitia closed her eyes as her body rapidly weathered away,a golden Magic Array swiftly formed above the gods, and a low murmur crossed mountains and seas, echoing throughout the entire continent:
“Heavenly Strike!”
As her weathering completed the restraints around the gods instantly shattered, countless magical lights flared and shot in every direction, but all of them were bounced back by a thin curtain of light。
The golden Magic Array finished assembling as endless white light poured downward from it,the gods below joined forces to resist for a moment before their shields were crushed apart by the white radiance and they were violently pressed downward。
Endless light suddenly erupted within the curtain of light, far more dazzling than the sun in the sky
“Boom!!!”
The deafening explosion blasted everyone’s minds completely blank。
Endless energy was released and rebounded within the curtain of light, ultimately being compressed downward and forced out below, while the leaked shockwave whipped up a violent gale。
The violent wind pressure blew away everything around Mosseradel, even tanks were hurled away, and the resulting sandstorm surged outward from Mosseradel like a tsunami。
Countless golden rings of light flew wildly through the blowing sand, finally smashing hard into the ground one after another, revealing Alliance soldiers within them, all of whom without exception sprawled on the ground and began dry-heaving。
Although the damage had been blocked by their shields, being tossed and rolled around through the wind had certainly not felt pleasant。
At some unknown point the ink-black blood-red sky had already disappeared, and in the azure sky above the sun warmly illuminated the earth, everything that had happened before seemed like nothing more than a brief nightmare。
“Urgh...”
‘Crack!’
One soldier knelt on the ground dry-heaving for quite some time, when suddenly a crisp cracking sound came from his chest and made his entire body stiffen。
In panic he fumbled around his chest and pulled out the Church of Holy Light emblem, the originally warm jade-like luster had quietly vanished, and the glaring crack across it made his hand tremble uncontrollably:
“This...this has to be a lie...”
“Pfft...”
Inside churches across the various states of the Subcontinent, the Priests and nuns gathered together in prayer simultaneously spat out mouthfuls of pale golden blood, while fine cracks continuously appeared across the Divine Statues on the central platforms amid repeated cracking sounds, until they finally collapsed with a crash。
Protecting the lives of such an enormous number of soldiers could not possibly have come without a price。
Crisp shattering sounds continuously rang out across the continent, aside from betraying one’s Faith causing Church tokens to shatter and lose their effect。
The second possibility was that the deity serving as the object of Faith had fallen into a state of dormant false death。
Once the source of Faith was severed, the tokens would naturally lose their effect, after all the prerequisite for their existence was being able to receive a response from the deity, otherwise they were themselves nothing more than lifeless objects。
As for why the deity had suddenly fallen into dormant false death, the answer was the crater more than a thousand meters in diameter and over a hundred meters deep at the former site of Mosseradel City。
The gods were gone, even their ashes had been scattered, and the greatest obstacle had disappeared。
But the Empress was also gone, the shattered Divine Statues did not allow them to deceive themselves, yet even more people would rather choose self-deception。
Perhaps the overwhelming majority of Alliance citizens never had the opportunity to meet the Empress even once, but that did not prevent her from becoming a family member implicitly acknowledged in the hearts of every citizen, although she was absent,it also seemed as though she was everywhere。
From the first baptism after birth,to the sweet calcium milk biscuits of childhood, the stationery regularly distributed by schools once they began attending classes, and the school uniforms at different stages that were likewise deliberately loose-fitting yet extraordinarily durable。
Anything carrying the Empress’s portrait or insignia seemed to appear in their lives with an especially high frequency,as though these were things they were inevitably entitled to receive。
Childhood, youth, middle age,old age, they could always see various messages issued by her at certain moments in their lives, there had even been absurd scenes of three generations of grandparents and grandchildren getting into arguments because they understood the Empress differently。
Under circumstances like these if you said the Empress was gone, you might as well say he himself was gone,he would even feel that possibility was more likely。
In short, the entire Alliance from top to bottom was immersed in a strangely indescribable atmosphere,of course this did not include the various national-level senior officials within the core decision-making circle of the Capital。
They felt as though they were currently sitting atop a lake made entirely from nitroglycerin, and the moment even a single ripple appeared, the resulting chain reaction would be enough to send every last one of them straight to heaven。
Anna, her face deathly pale, was helped down from the vehicle by her attendants, standing weakly before the gates of Astal Manor for a long time without daring to have the people outside open them。
Eliza’s summons had left her no time to compose herself before hurrying over, but once she reached the entrance she had no idea how she was supposed to face Eliza。
She told herself that what Mitia had said was correct, for Mitia personally falling asleep did not have too great an impact,as long as everything was handled properly and the obstacles were removed for the Alliance, then her awakening itself was an established fact。
No matter how this transaction was calculated it could not be considered a loss, the only question was exactly how long she would remain asleep。
But how was she supposed to explain this to Mitia’s biological mother?
Forget it,if she did not meet Eliza then who knew what strange conclusions Eliza might reach,so Anna had to meet her even if she had to force herself through it。
However when Anna tremblingly met Eliza, the other woman’s face did not show any of the negative emotions she had imagined, instead there was even a hint of...
Happiness?
Anna felt somewhat restless, had Milady perhaps been overwhelmed by the shock?
After fidgeting for a long time she finally gathered her courage:“Mi...Milady!I!”
“Shh...”
Eliza raised a finger and gestured for her to lower her voice, then pointed toward the bedroom:“Don’t wake them。”
“Forget it,come inside and take a look,I keep feeling like something is a little wrong with the state those two are in~”
As she spoke Eliza led the confused Anna into the bedroom, where three little girls were sprawled across Eliza’s large bed sleeping soundly。
Aside from Little Lillian, that silly roe deer who never grew up,she did not recognize either of the other two...wait!
Anna took two quick steps forward and carefully examined the drooling sleeping face of the black-haired little girl, the more she looked the more familiar those features became, until finally she cried out in astonishment:“Fuck! Is this Mitia’s daughter? When the hell did she secretly give birth behind my back!!!”
The silver-haired little girl resting elegantly nearby with her head supported on one arm opened her eyes, her large purple eyes glancing at the frantic Anna
She extended a chubby paw and ‘smack smack smack’ began patting the black-haired little girl’s cheeks, her plump paw bouncing repeatedly against the soft round baby-fat cheeks, and only after seemingly tiring herself out did she curse bitterly:
“Idiot!That’s her!Big liar!!!”
‘Slurp~heave-ho...’
The latter sucked back her drool, scratched her itchy cheek, rolled over and hugged her own plump little belly before continuing to sleep。
