I Became a Side Character in the World Of Skyrim
Chapter 137 Unforgiven
Eirik and Eldvar hung helplessly in the air, their bodies rigid and trembling under the invisible force of Alex’s telekinetic grip. Their limbs twitched against the pressure, as if struggling against unseen chains that tightened with every second.
Alex stood a few steps away, his arm slightly raised, fingers curled as though clutching something in his grasp. His jaw was set tight, his brows drawn together, and his breathing was sharp controlled, but barely.
“So… who exactly are you two?” he demanded, his voice low yet edged with anger and confusion.
Eldvar flinched violently at the sound, his shoulders jerking as if struck. His eyes widened, darting between Alex and the ground below, panic quickly overtaking his expression. His lips trembled before he forced the words out.
“I’m a Stormcloak soldier,” he stammered, his voice cracking under the pressure. “My mission… is to deliver a letter to the Dragonborn. The letter it’s from my lord, Ulfric.”
The invisible force constricted further, pressing the air from his lungs. Eldvar’s chest heaved as he struggled to breathe, each inhale shallow and strained. His fingers twitched weakly before he forced his arm to lift, pointing shakily toward Eirik.
“Hah… and him!” he gasped, wincing as the motion sent another wave of pain through his body. “He’s… a vampire… he hypnotized me… so he could kill the Dragonborn!”
For a brief moment, everything went still.
Then-
Alex’s expression darkened.
The air around him seemed to grow heavier, his anger rising like a storm ready to break. His hand tightened, fingers curling further as if crushing something fragile. Eirik’s body jerked violently in response.
Alex stepped forward in a single, sharp motion and snapped his wrist forcing Eirik’s head to turn toward him. Their eyes met.
Alex’s were wide, unblinking, burning with raw fury.
“You!!!” he roared, his voice echoing with barely restrained rage. “Do you have a death wish?! Want to see hell sooner, huh?!”
Eirik’s arrogant composure shattered instantly.
“UAAGHGHK!!!” he screamed, his entire body convulsing as the pressure intensified. A sickening strain rippled through him, his back arching unnaturally as the invisible force crushed down harder.
The scream rang out across the area loud, raw, and filled with pain drawing the attention of nearby civilians and soldiers alike, who turned toward the scene in alarm.
“How dare you hurt me!!! Grrhgk ” Eirik snarled, his lips curling back to bare his fangs, even as his body trembled under the crushing force.
The defiance in his voice only made it worse.
Alex’s eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint flashing through them. His fingers curled tighter in the air, as if slowly closing around Eirik’s very bones.
The pressure intensified.
Eirik’s body jerked violently midair, a choked gasp tearing from his throat as the invisible force crushed down harder, forcing the air out of his lungs.
Alex took a step forward, his boots striking the ground with a sharp, deliberate thud. His shoulders were tense, his entire posture rigid with anger barely held in check.
“Do you even know your place?” he growled, his voice dropping into something colder sharper. “How dare you!!!”
With a slight twist of his wrist, the force shifted pinning Eirik completely in place. His limbs locked, unable to move even an inch, as though the air itself had solidified around him. Yet despite the overwhelming pressure, Alex held back just enough… keeping him alive, forcing him to feel every second of it.
At first, Eirik still tried to hold onto his pride.
His expression remained twisted with arrogance, his eyes glaring defiantly at Alex, as if refusing to submit even now.
But the pain didn’t stop. It built. And built.
Until-
Crack.
A faint, sickening sound escaped as the pressure increased again.
Eirik’s composure shattered.
His face contorted, arrogance dissolving into raw fear. His lips trembled, his breathing turned ragged and uneven, and his eyes once filled with superiority now flickered with desperation.
“P-please…” he choked out, his voice breaking. “Don’t… kill me… please…”
His body twitched helplessly, no longer resisting only enduring.
Alex didn’t respond he just stared. His gaze locked onto Eirik’s face, unblinking, intense searching, judging. For a fleeting moment… something softened. A flicker of pity.
A brief hesitation in the tightening of his hand.
But it didn’t last.
Because in the depths of his mind, another image forced its way forward
A possibility.

What if he hadn’t arrived in time?
His jaw clenched.
What if he had been just a second too late?
His fingers trembled then tightened again.
Would he have found Astrid lying lifeless? Would he have seen blood
His breath hitched.
the blood of the child she carried?
His child.
The flicker of pity in Alex’s eyes didn’t just fade it was crushed, extinguished as if it had never existed.
What replaced it was something far more terrifying.
Rage.
Pure, unrelenting rage.
His expression hardened, jaw clenched so tightly the muscles along his face trembled. A vein pulsed visibly at his temple, his breathing turning heavier, sharper each inhale dragging in anger, each exhale releasing it like heat from a furnace.
His hand rose slightly higher.
Then clenched.
“So now…” he began, his voice low at first, trembling not with hesitation, but with barely restrained fury.
In an instant, it snapped.
“You beg for your life after trying to take two lives?!” he roared.
The invisible force around Eirik constricted violently.
Eirik’s body jolted midair as if struck, his back arching unnaturally. A sickening series of cracks echoed in rapid succession sharp, brittle sounds that seemed far too loud in the open air.
Yet he did not die.
His body refused to die.
Flesh strained, bones fractured and then, grotesquely, began to mend again under his skin. The unnatural regeneration of a vampire kept him trapped in an endless cycle of breaking and healing… pain without release.
“UAAGHK!!!” Eirik’s scream tore through the air, raw and animalistic, his voice breaking as his entire body convulsed helplessly. His fingers clawed at nothing, his head jerking violently as if trying to escape a grip that wasn’t there yet was everywhere.
Alex didn’t look away.
Not even for a second.
His eyes were wide, unblinking, locked onto Eirik with terrifying intensity. His fingers tightened again, slowly, deliberately as if he wanted to feel every ounce of resistance, every moment of suffering.
Step.
He moved closer, his boots pressing hard into the ground, his presence looming.
Step.
Closer still.
The air itself seemed heavy around him, suffocating like the world was bending under the weight of his anger.
In the distance, voices began to rise.
At first faint.
Then louder.
People were gathering.
Civilians, drawn by the scream some slowing in shock, others whispering in fear, a few already backing away. Among them, armored figures pushed forward guards from Whiterun, alerted by the commotion.
They stopped at a distance, hesitant.
Watching.
One of the guards finally stepped forward slightly, his hand hovering near his weapon, uncertainty clear in his posture.
“Sir…?” he called out cautiously, his voice careful, measured trying not to provoke.
“Who are they?”
Alex didn’t even so much as blink.
His gaze remained locked onto the vampire cold, unwavering, and suffocating in its intensity. Even as the guard spoke, it was as if Alex didn’t truly register his presence.
“He’s a vampire,” Alex replied flatly, his voice low and devoid of warmth. “Handle your own business.”
The dismissal was absolute.
But the guard didn’t back away.
Swallowing his hesitation, he stepped forward anyway boots scraping softly against the ground. There was a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes, but he pushed through it, forcing himself to act. Slowly, carefully, he reached out… and placed a hand on Alex’s shoulder.
“Then let us take care of ”
He didn’t get to finish.
The reaction was immediate.
Alex’s head snapped toward him with a sharp, almost violent motion. His eyes widened fury blazing within them like wildfire. The sudden shift in his attention felt like stepping into the path of a storm.
The air grew heavy.
Oppressive.
“I said leave…” Alex’s voice dropped, quieter now but far more dangerous, each word edged like a blade. His glare drilled into the guard, unrelenting. “…or ”
Bang!
The door to Alex’s house burst open.
The sharp sound cut through the tension like a blade.
Both Alex’s voice and the crushing atmosphere around him stopped.
Astrid stepped out.
For a split second, everything seemed to freeze.
Then
The change in Alex was immediate.
The fire in his eyes dimmed, not gone but pulled back, restrained. The tension in his body loosened just slightly, his shoulders lowering as his focus shifted completely.
“Astrid…”
He turned fully toward her now, the anger in his expression softening into something else something human. Concern. Fear.
“Are you alright… my love?”
His voice, once filled with rage, was now gentler still strained, but undeniably softer.
And in that single moment of distraction
The invisible grip faltered.
Eirik felt it instantly.
The crushing pressure that had held him in place weakened just enough.
His body twitched, then jerked as control returned in fragments. His eyes snapped open wider, desperation flaring once more.
He acted without hesitation.
With a strained motion of his hand, Eirik released a surge of magic
A wall of storm erupted violently around him.
Crackling arcs of lightning burst outward in a chaotic ring, wind howling as energy lashed the air. The sudden explosion of power forced Alex to release his telekinetic hold completely.
The invisible chains shattered.
Eirik dropped then caught himself, the storm swirling around him as a shield, buying him the one thing he needed
An opening.
Panic erupted among the townspeople as the crackling energy spread. Civilians began screaming and running in all directions.
Taking full advantage of the chaos, Eirik transformed into a bat. His skin burned slightly in the process, but he endured it, darting swiftly into the fleeing crowd disappearing from Alex’s sight.
“You!!! You won’t be able to run from me forever!!!” Alex roared.
Glaring toward the crowd, Alex raised his hand and used his telekinesis to lift the civilians into the air trying to clear his view. But the strain hit him hard. Having already exhausted himself training his telekinetic power earlier, the effort now weighed heavily on his body, pushing him toward his limits.
Alex tried to lift the entire crowd at once, desperately searching for that small bat among them. But his strength was gone exhaustion overwhelmed him completely. He could no longer hold them up.
Breathing heavily and unevenly, he forced out broken words,
“You… huff… won’t… huff… be able… huff… to ”
Before he could finish, his body gave out. Alex collapsed, losing consciousness.
Eirik, meanwhile, managed to escape. The sun was already close to setting, and though its light burned him for a moment, it wasn’t enough to stop him. He vanished into the distance.
With Alex unconscious, his telekinetic grip on Eldvar was released. Astrid, seeing Alex fall, rushed to his side and quickly checked on him. After a tense moment, she let out a breath of relief he was still alive.
Eldvar then cautiously approached her.
“Excuse me… are you the Dragonborn?”
Astrid immediately shot him a sharp, angry glare.
“Who are you? Are you with that vampire?”
Eldvar quickly shook his head, denying it at once.
“No no, of course not!”
Eldvar cleared his throat nervously.
“Ehem… allow me to introduce myself. My name is Eldvar, and I am a soldier of the Stormcloaks. My mission is to deliver a letter ”
He reached into his pouch, but his expression immediately shifted as he realized something was wrong.
“Wait a moment, ma’am…”
Panic set in as he frantically searched through his belongings. The letter was gone. He looked around quickly left, right until he finally spotted it lying on the ground. He hurried over and picked it up.
“Ehem… let me repeat,” he said, trying to regain composure. “I was sent here under Ulfric’s orders to deliver this letter to you, Dragonborn.”
Astrid, clearly irritated, snatched the letter roughly from his hand.
“Ugh… what took you so long?”
She then lifted Alex into her arms and stood up.
“Well, your business here is done, isn’t it? Go. Tell Ulfric I’ll send my reply later.”
Eldvar stood there, his emotions in turmoil. He had just gone through a life-and-death experience something beyond anything he had ever imagined. For the first time, he truly understood how insignificant he was… just another ordinary man, like a rabbit in the food chain.
After witnessing the overwhelming power of that vampire… and Alex.
