I Am Your Natural Enemy

Chapter 1268 - 434: Dreamwalker, Direction Is in My Hands (5k)

The Huafu Dajiang directly gave up on fighting; when it’s uncertain who will win, continuing is not in his interest.

In his heart, the Martial Path is considered insignificant, at the bottom of the contempt chain, while the true path lies in the cultivation of the living.

Even for him, now being a Great Zombie, he doesn’t follow the pure physical route, but focuses his energy on divine skills and special abilities.

This is a deeply ingrained mindset.

A Fuyu Sect Disciple without a Daoist title, who still practices the Martial Path, in his mind, belongs to the lowest level within Fuyu Mountain, the first line of defense during a mountain-guarding task. So they’re called soldiers, implied to be like foot soldiers.

But training in martial arts to the point where the body is comparable to a Great Zombie, the Huafu Dajiang indeed has never seen or heard of such a thing.

As for being unafraid of corpse poison, he didn’t care much.

For a Fuyu Sect Disciple to handle corpse poison with ease is the most natural thing to him.

He merely chanced upon a living person and came over to take a look, not purely for a life-or-death struggle at first sight.

And here, unable to leave, what’s the point?

Wen Yan scrutinized the Huafu Dajiang, gauging his strength, noting that his physical toughness couldn’t compare to the Eighth Uncle-Master Ancestor.

When sparring with the Eighth Uncle-Master Ancestor, the ancestor could withstand his Big Spear without even denting his chest.

This Huafu Dajiang seems to prefer the supernatural abilities route, rather than a focus on the physical body.

With that in mind, his pure realm might be at the Deformed Corpse level, but his overall strength shouldn’t be compared to a Wild Zombie, possibly slightly below the elite of the same realm in Fuyu Mountain.

Fuyu Mountain’s Hundred-Battles Great Zombies, even the Haired Zombies, Wen Yan wouldn’t oppress them with pure strength but with ample Yang Energy. When it comes to combat techniques, he would be the one overwhelmed.

Those Hundred-Battles Great Zombies have all survived life-and-death struggles with real weapons.

Judging strength solely by rank isn’t of much reference value.

But using this method to preliminarily judge outside Wild Zombies’ strength would not have much of a deviation.

Wen Yan felt that to assess this Huafu Dajiang’s strength, a combination of both evaluation methods should be considered.

Another reason he didn’t plan a life-and-death fight with the opponent is that he hasn’t seen any signs yet.

Another reason, according to Er Jingong, is that he first transported away the Stone Coffin.

And the following year, the situation with Wild Zombies exploded here.

If what was inside the Stone Coffin back then was this Huafu Zombie, how did Er Jingong manage to transport it?

This Huafu Dajiang is not weak and can Blink.

He had seen clearly earlier that the Stone Coffin wasn’t completely opened, just a slight gap, and the Huafu Dajiang flashed out from inside.

The chains binding the Stone Coffin, unless bound very tightly and immovably, couldn’t possibly fully restrain the Huafu Dajiang.

To control this guy, the only possible approach might be final suppression.

The piece of Black Stone Wen Yan brought back is the same one the Fuyu Mountain’s Great Zombies wouldn’t dare approach.

Perhaps back then, the Huafu Dajiang was suppressed by that Black Stone, which gave an opportunity.

But on the journey, who knows what happened; that ordinary-looking Black Stone didn’t keep up with the transported Stone Coffin, ultimately leaving it behind, where it was picked up by a common person.

Wen Yan speculated if what Er Jingong took away was the Stone Coffin containing the Huafu Dajiang, it might be the closest estimation to the actual situation then.

If this were true, then the Huafu Dajiang in front of him might not be real, just a projection inside an Ancient Dream.

If this Huafu Dajiang is real, then what was inside the transported Stone Coffin could not have been the Huafu Dajiang.

Of course, another possibility exists, but one cannot rely solely on speculation.

Wen Yan glanced at Er Jingong, who was tossed aside, sitting on the ground in shock as if he had seen a deity.

Obviously, this guy was also pondering what was inside the Stone Coffin he took away back then.

What allowed him to transport such a dangerous entity?

Wen Yan glanced at Er Jingong, who instantly snapped out of it.

"Injured?"

"No."

"If not, then rest well and don’t speak, it wastes energy."

Er Jingong immediately understood and shut his mouth.

While lacking strength, he at least possesses insight.

Without insight, he wouldn’t have survived until now.

Wen Yan gazed towards the distant main street, where many zombies, or dead people, were looking towards this side. Upon seeing that Wen Yan and Huafu Dajiang were not continuing the fight, those zombies turned away to resume their business.

"Old brother, how did you get here?"

"I don’t know, woke up and found myself here; can’t leave, can’t find a way out. Don’t struggle, no need for futile actions; I’ve already tried hundreds of times."

Wen Yan rummaged in his bag, pulling out a small packet of cherry tomatoes, which Little Zombie had given him. He tossed a few to the Huafu Dajiang.

"Why not give it a try? How will you know without trying?"

Wen Yan gazed towards the area outside the main street, towards the place shrouded in mist.

The direction in his heart that guided him home led straight that way, the same direction where moments ago, those Great Zombies carrying the Stone Coffin had emerged.

Wen Yan casually tossed a cherry tomato into his mouth, then threw a few to Er Jingong as well.

The Huafu Dajiang looked at the cherry tomatoes in his hand and mimicked Wen Yan, popping one into his mouth.
