Chapter 218: Ch 218- The New Space Talent

  • Next Chapter

As soon as Mo Yuan pressed Yes, his vision changed and he once again found himself inside the talent tree space and the branches of both talent twisted and merged together.

A moment later, a loud boom rang out.

The entire space trembled and a bright light flashed before Mo Yuan’s eyes.

When he opened them again, he was back inside his cultivation chamber.

Mo Yuan immediately sat up straight. ’Did it succeed?’

He hurriedly opened his talent panel and his eyes moved toward the list of talents. As expected, Space Cleave Talent had disappeared. In its place was a new talent.

Space Talent: Superior Grade★ [Active] [Passive]

Mo Yuan stared at the panel for a moment before a wide smile spread across his face.

’Nice! The grade has increased from Secondary to Superior and it even has a star. More importantly, it now has both active and passive effects. This must be because of Space Cleave Talent.’

He had already experienced the benefits of fusing talents. Although the result was not always successful, a successful fusion could produce something far better than simply possessing two separate talents.

Without wasting any time, Mo Yuan closed his eyes and focused on the information entering his mind.

A few moments later, he opened them again, looking rather surprised.

’Oh? The storage space has increased as well!’

Previously, his storage space had been one kilometre long, one kilometre wide and one kilometre high. It was already quite large but after the fusion, its dimensions had increased to ten kilometres in every direction.

The difference was enormous.

A space that measured ten kilometres in length, width and height could hold an incredible amount of things. Even if he stored thousands of large beasts inside it, there would still be plenty of room left.

’I was already having trouble finding enough things to fill the previous space and now it’s ten times larger in every dimension.’

Mo Yuan rubbed his forehead. He had no idea when he would ever manage to fill such a massive storage space. Still, having too much space was hardly a problem he would complain about.

However, the storage space was not the only thing that had improved.

’My Space Sense has also increased from ten metres to one hundred metres!’

Mo Yuan’s expression became serious as he studied this new ability.

Within a range of one hundred metres, he could sense changes in space and detect disturbances that would otherwise be difficult to notice.

Unlike Origin Sense, which relied on the strength of his soul to perceive his surroundings, Space Sense allowed him to directly feel the condition of space itself.

Origin Sense was already extremely useful, especially after his recent fusion had greatly increased his soul power.

However, it still had limitations. Certain concealment abilities could interfere with it and some enemies might find ways to avoid being detected.

On the other hand Space Sense offered a different method of perception.

As long as an enemy caused a noticeable disturbance in space within his range, Mo Yuan would have a chance to detect it.

This made it especially useful for dealing with hidden enemies or opponents who relied on spatial abilities.

’Not bad. Not bad at all.’

He was becoming more satisfied with the fusion by the second but then, another part of the information caught his attention.

’Wait, Space Cleave has changed too!’

Previously, when he used Space Cleave, the attack would appear from his direction and travel toward his target.

Although the slash could cut through space itself, it was still relatively slow compared to his own speed. Against a powerful opponent, that gave them an opportunity to dodge.

Now, things were different.

The upgraded Space Talent allowed him to summon the spatial slash at any location within his one-hundred-metre range. He no longer needed to launch it from his own position.

Mo Yuan’s eyes widened as he imagined the possibilities.

’This means that if an enemy comes within one hundred metres, I can summon a Space Cleave directly in front of their face!’

The thought alone made him grin.

’Bahahaha! I can already imagine their expressions. One moment they’re standing there, thinking they’re perfectly safe and the next moment a spatial slash appears right in front of them. They won’t even know what hit them!’

Of course, a clever opponent might still react if they noticed the attack in time but being able to summon it directly at the target’s location removed the need for the slash to travel all the way from his body.

Against someone who did not understand his ability, the advantage would be even greater.

’Excellent. Another useful talent.’

Mo Yuan closed his eyes again and activated Space Sense.

In the next instant, his perception spread outward, covering the space within one hundred metres of his body. He could sense the room around him, the objects inside it and the subtle changes in the space between them.

It felt different from using Origin Sense.

For a brief moment, Mo Yuan felt as if he had grasped something deep within space itself.

It was an unfamiliar sensation, almost as if a door had appeared before him and he had managed to touch its handle.

However, before he could understand what it meant, the feeling disappeared.

He tried to recall it but nothing came to mind.

’Strange. It feels as if I’ve understood something but I can’t put it into words.’

He remained silent for a few seconds before shaking his head.

’Never mind. I’ll figure it out eventually.’

There was no need to force an understanding he was not ready for. Cultivation was a long road and some things could only be understood after reaching a certain level.

Mo Yuan checked his talent panel one last time. All the talents he had planned to paste had now been dealt with and the fusion had also succeeded.

It was time to focus on his next goal.

’Today is April 7.’

He calculated the time remaining before the Human Federation Academy at the Holy Base began its classes.

The academy’s new term would start in June and the first phase of the admission would finish before July. If he wanted to arrive early and settle everything before classes began, leaving in May would be the safest choice.

’Hmm. I should be able to reach Peak Origin Lord Realm within a month if everything goes smoothly. After that, I’ll head to the Holy Base.’

He also planned to use his next Copy and Paste opportunity here as it was only 15 days later ,as for the next one he would do it in the Holy Base, where he would be able to find better talents.

Mo Yuan nodded to himself. His immediate goal was clear. He would reach Peak Origin Lord Realm as quickly as possible, leave for the Holy Base and begin a new Chapter of his life.

With that decided, he stood up and walked toward the large cultivation container.

He opened the container and filled it again with the 100 year old Jade Liquid, allowing the thick, milky liquid to settle inside. Soon, a rich fragrance spread throughout the chamber.

Mo Yuan removed his clothes and slowly stepped into the container. The cool liquid surrounded his body and he settled down until it reached his neck.

Then he activated his Devour Talent and Body Morphing Talent.

Countless mouths appeared across his body, opening one after another as they began absorbing the Jade Liquid.

The energy contained within the precious liquid flowed into him, spreading through his muscles, bones, blood and meridians.

Then Mo Yuan closed his eyes and focused on cultivation.

A/N- Soon the Holy base arc would begin and the main plot would also start rolling.
