I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 782: Ninth Evolution, a Leap in Strength
In truth, this was quite similar to skill enhancement, but far more targeted.
For example, take the “Sponge Body” skill. This ability had a variety of complex effects, one of which was “Absorbs all energy and physical attacks, converting them into storable energy.” Su Ze could continuously expand this effect, turning it into “Absorbs *any* attack, converting it into storable energy.”
In other words, it would bring mental attacks into its absorption range as well.
The skill also came with a “Regeneration Core,” which provided near-death healing. Ideally, Su Ze could expand it into having “an extra life” or “a one-time revival.”
Once both of these aspects were fully expanded, the originally bloated skill would be streamlined into three relatively simple effects.
“Indestructible Metallization,” “Absorb All Attacks for Stored Bursts,” and “One-Time Revival.”
At that point, it would become clear that these three effects also had obvious commonalities. They were all survival skills, and the first two clearly overlapped.
With further, appropriate expansion, the three effects could be easily integrated.
A person who was indestructible and could ignore any form of attack—wouldn’t they be invincible?
Ultimately, the skill could become a combination of “Invincibility + Revival.”
That would be true integration.
It was like adding various seasonings to a hodgepodge stew, ultimately transforming it into a refined hotpot.
Of course, skill expansion wasn’t something that could be done casually. It required corresponding materials. Just like skill enhancement and upgrades, one had to continuously absorb various suitable materials to complete the expansion.
That was why Su Ze said it was another “pay-to-win” ability.
One could imagine that expanding each skill would require massive amounts of high-tier materials. The total cost would likely be even higher than his previous skill upgrades.
Still, the ability was incredibly useful.
Besides the upgrade to his Divine Grace of Evolution, Su Ze also turned his attention to another of his skills: “Knowledge is Power.”
After the skill had undergone a qualitative transformation before, he had suspected it couldn’t be just an ordinary Tier-9 skill.
And now that he had become a Sun God, the skill finally revealed its true form.
Knowledge is Power (Quasi-Tier-10 Divine Skill): Passive. Gain one Genetic Enhancement for every skill mastered.
This skill was actually a Quasi-Tier-10 skill!
Tier 10 was the level of an Ancestral God. This was a Quasi-Ancestral Divine Skill!
It was both expected and surprising. He hadn’t thought that after his Tier-9 “Knowledge is Power” had its brief interaction with Divine Grace of Evolution, it would nearly become an Ancestral Divine Skill.
On the surface, only a single tier separated a Tier-9 divine skill from an Ancestral Divine Skill, but in reality, there was an unbridgeable chasm between them.
Becoming a Quasi-Ancestral Divine Skill meant that he had already crossed more than half of that chasm.
Su Ze didn’t rush out of his seclusion, continuing to improve himself.
He accepted the subsequent inheritance for his Meteor Impact skill, upgrading it to Tier 9 as well.
Meteor Impact (Tier-9 Divine Skill): Capture and compress celestial bodies to store within oneself. Maximum storage: ten stars and one hundred planets. Can hurl these celestial bodies at targets.
Now he could capture stars, and his “Ammunition Vault” had also grown.
‘I guess I’ll have to set aside some time later to fill up the Ammunition Vault,’ Su Ze thought.
He remembered the memory he’d seen when he first acquired Meteor Impact. The skill’s original owner had tossed planets at people like they were jelly beans.
He wasn’t at that level yet, but being able to store over a hundred celestial bodies to hurl at his enemies was still a formidable thought.
If he didn’t prepare his ammunition in advance, he’d have nowhere to find so many celestial bodies on short notice once a fight broke out.
But finishing all this was just the beginning. The main event was yet to come.
Next came the two steps Su Ze valued and anticipated the most: absorbing the Origin Gene inheritance and obtaining the Ancestral Divine Skill that Mr. Ao had left for him!
Having just broken through to become a Sun God, receiving the inheritance of an Ancestral Divine Skill was undoubtedly a tremendous challenge.
Therefore, Su Ze planned to first absorb the Origin Genes from the Inheritance Crystal to further enhance his strength before attempting to receive the Ancestral Divine Skill.
Without wasting any time, Su Ze immediately began.
58% Witch Race Origin Gene… absorb!
79% Spirit Race Origin Gene… absorb!
66% Pan Race Origin Gene… absorb!
92% Sea Race Origin Gene… absorb…
The completion rates of these Origin Genes were all very high, but none of them were 100% complete.
He didn’t know if it was because Mr. Ao hadn’t mastered them completely, or if they simply weren’t passed down.
There were over a thousand of these highly complete Origin Genes. High completion rates corresponded to vast amounts of Evolutionary Material.
As Su Ze felt his strength increasing at a tremendous rate, more and more Evolutionary Material continuously accumulated inside his body.
He had to stop when his body became saturated and could no longer hold any more Evolutionary Material. By then, however, he had absorbed less than twenty percent of the Origin Genes.
He had no choice but to pause, emerge from his seclusion early, and go bask under the Super Star to digest the Evolutionary Material.
Fortunately, during his seclusion, Zexing had been working overtime to produce Chlorophyll Capsules. After supplying Mr. Ya and the others, they had managed to build up a small stockpile.
Su Ze naturally took the entire stockpile for himself, but even that wasn’t enough.
‘It seems absorbing all the other races’ Origin Genes from the Inheritance Crystal will be impossible without several months,’ he mused.
And those several months weren’t for him to absorb the Origin Genes, but for Zexing to stockpile enough Chlorophyll Capsules.
Only several months of Zexing’s Chlorophyll Capsule production would be enough for Su Ze to absorb and digest all of those Origin Genes.
‘Looks like I’ll have to receive the Ancestral Divine Skill’s inheritance first… Plans just can’t keep up with reality.’ Su Ze had no choice but to head to the core area of the underground base first.
Here, a golden heart pulsed with a steady rhythm.
This heart was the energy source for the entire Dream Space. It was also the “Ancestral God-level extract” Mr. Ao had left for him, containing the inheritance for the Ancestral Divine Skill, Dream Creation.
