I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 778: The Plan for the Witch Egg (Part 2)
‘The bloodline of a being stronger than an Ancestral God? An egg?’
The research value was so immense she could hardly imagine it!
This was rarer than a Super Star, and far more worthy of research!
Liou Wenxin had never been so excited. She was so thrilled that her usual composure shattered, and she couldn’t stop herself from grabbing Su Ze’s face and planting a firm smooch on it. ‘What a dear little brother!’
“Don’t worry, just leave this to me.” She quickly claimed the task, afraid the Pope and Mage would try to take it from her.
Mage looked expectantly at Su Ze. ‘Didn’t we agree that I would be in charge of this?’
Su Ze cleared his throat and introduced Mage to Liou Wenxin.
“Mage is the Tree Spirit Race’s top botanist. You, he, and the Pope will work together to complete this research. My requirements are twofold: first, you cannot allow that Witch Egg to continue harming our Super Star. Second, you must find a way to use the Witch Egg to strengthen this Mutant Seed as much as possible.”
Su Ze also took out the Mutant Seed. After absorbing Super Star Energy day and night for some time, the Mutant Seed had already swelled to the size of a large watermelon.
Liou Wenxin studied the seed. When she had given it to Su Ze, she never imagined it would grow so large.
Mage immediately explained the seed’s condition to Liou Wenxin, who was both amazed and thoroughly impressed by his mastery of botany.
She knew it would be very difficult to complete this task on her own; she would need assistance from Mage and the Pope.
Among the three, Liou Wenxin specialized in pioneering and innovation. The Pope possessed the broadest and most eclectic range of knowledge and often came up with wild, out-of-the-box ideas. However, many of his concepts were too extreme and avant-garde. Even by the standards of the entire universe, they were considered radical and required his teammates to keep him in check.
Mage, on the other hand, was a specialist in botany, considered among the best in the universe in his field, and was also highly experienced.
With the three of them joining forces, what great deed could they not accomplish!
Su Ze cleared his throat and said, “That’s just the first task. The second is to research the special chlorophyll. I’ve tried the Chlorophyll Capsules you gave me, and they work quite well with Super Star Energy, but they definitely have their shortcomings.
“Your next job is to continue refining the special chlorophyll. Improvements in other areas can be put on hold. The priority is to increase the production yield. If you can’t increase the yield, then increase its effectiveness!”
Su Ze’s upcoming ninth evolution depended on this special chlorophyll. For him, any other shortcomings were of little consequence and could be dealt with later; the main goal was to increase the yield.
He needed massive amounts of chlorophyll to digest all the Evolutionary Material in his body. The small bottle of Chlorophyll Capsules he had before wasn’t even a drop in the bucket.
“These two tasks have the highest priority. All other research projects, including the optimized cultivation of the Hundred-Change Flower, can take a backseat. If you need anything during your research, just let me know directly.”
“Yes!” the three of them replied in unison.
…
For a while after that, Su Ze found himself with nothing to do again.
His current combat power was comparable to a top-tier Sun God, and he had a ninth-rank mutated beast, the Dark Blood Giant Beast, as his enforcer. He felt this level of strength should be sufficient for Blue Star.
According to the intelligence from Li Fayi, there were only three Nian Race Sun Gods on Blue Star, and Su Ze was confident he could deal with them.
However, he still felt it was too risky. Three Sun Gods were just the ones they knew about; it was impossible to know if more were lying in ambush. After all, the Nian Race was clearly placing a great deal of importance on Blue Star now.
Besides, having suffered a setback before, it was inevitable that the Nian Race had made other preparations.
Therefore, he decided to complete his ninth evolution and become a Sun God before heading to Blue Star.
It wasn’t that he feared for his own safety—he had the Replacement Skill and could escape at any time. His main concern was that a single failure would make the Nian Race even more vigilant, making it that much harder to rescue the members of the Human Race on Blue Star in the future.
But to undergo his ninth evolution, he had to wait for a large supply of the special chlorophyll.
He had buried the Creation Dream Butterfly’s eyeball in the soil, but it still hadn’t produced more than a few grains of the Sands of Time. Creating the Sands of Time by relying on the natural dissipation of the golden energy within the eyeball was far too inefficient and slow, but Su Ze had no way to actively draw the energy out.
Without the Sands of Time, his only option was to hope for the swift mass production of the special chlorophyll.
After resting for a while, Mr. Ya and his crew took the Hero and went out to hunt bandits again.
Su Ze had always supported this bandit-hunting enterprise, as it both increased Zexing’s income and helped train the combat skills of the newly-ascended Star Gods.
Zexing had gained many new Star Gods, and they all needed to be sent out to be properly tempered in battle.
Su Ze didn’t go with them this time, but he sent the Dark Blood Giant Beast to act as their heavy support. He also instructed them to travel far away and avoid hunting bandits anywhere near Zexing.
The Starry Sky Guard Team had started to make a name for itself, so it was better for them to operate far from Zexing to avoid anyone tracking them back to their home base.
With time on his hands, Su Ze decided to go into seclusion and begin deconstructing and fusing his Rhino Charge skill.
He had previously planned to split the Rhino Charge skill into two components, “Charge” and “Area Trample,” and integrate them into his other skills.
He had originally intended to do this after becoming a Sun God, but since he was idle, he figured he might as well put the time to good use.
Of course, he needed a solid plan before he started. Su Ze planned to integrate the Area Trample component of the Rhino Charge skill into his “God’s Domain.”
His “God’s Domain” skill could be described as the “dumping ground” of his skill-fusion process. Any skill he didn’t know where else to fuse, any area-of-effect skill, or any skill even remotely related to the concept of a “domain” was thrown into it.
