I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 595 - 349: Invincible on Blue Star (3)
"Rest assured, I will lead the Human Race and fight to the very end!" Chen Suifeng said, his gaze firm.
By publicly naming Chen Suifeng as his successor, Mr. Ke intended to quell any and all dissent.
Chen Suifeng had enough seniority, but his strength was still a bit lacking. He was only a Venerable Powerhouse, and the Blue Star Party had several others.
Su Ze would have been a more suitable candidate, but after killing Jiang Pingle, he was fated to leave Blue Star soon.
When that happened, the Blue Star Party would be left without a Legendary Powerhouse.
Mr. Ke then turned his gaze to Lin Tiannan. "Tiannan, from now on, you must assist Suifeng..."
Lin Tiannan immediately broke down in tears. Mr. Ke had watched him grow up, and though they shared no blood, he was the elder Lin Tiannan respected most.
Anyone could see that Mr. Ke was giving his final instructions.
He had a few words for everyone he knew...
As he continued to speak, Mr. Ke’s form grew increasingly faint, leaving only a hazy, phantom-like image.
Mr. Ke’s voice grew softer and softer, but he continued to speak. His words shifted from final arrangements to caring words of advice for the younger generation...
Then, a gust of wind swept by, and the last of his phantom image dissolved into a wisp of smoke, carried away on the breeze. Mr. Ke’s whisper-thin voice faded into the wind as well.
The old man who had guarded Lin Hua Continent for over five hundred years was gone with the wind, leaving no trace behind.
But the mark he left on the hearts of everyone present, on the hearts of the people of Lin Hua Continent, would never be erased.
"We send off Mr. Ke!"
Tears welled in Chen Suifeng’s eyes and his body trembled slightly, but he forced himself to stand ramrod straight and offered a Lin Hua Army salute.
"We send off Mr. Ke!"
"We send off Mr. Ke!"
As everyone watched, a gentle breeze swept across the land and merged into the vast currents of the Lin River.
...
Su Ze had no time for sorrow. He had more important things to do.
"Mr. Ya, Mr. Lin..." Su Ze called out to several Venerable Powerhouses, telling them to board the Magic Cube with him.
He didn’t call on Chen Suifeng, who, as the leader hand-picked by Mr. Ke for the Blue Star Party, would have many things to organize.
Looking at the nine Venerable Powerhouses present, Su Ze announced, "I will now travel to the three locations of the Divine Dice on Blue Star. For the time being, I must trouble you to guard them. You must not let anyone get near!"
Su Ze had to seal off the three Divine Dice locations before news of Jiang Pingle and Marina’s deaths could spread, preventing the Nian Race from calling to their home world for reinforcements.
But he knew this wasn’t a long-term solution.
The news of their deaths wouldn’t stay hidden for long. Jiang Pingle and Marina were both continental sovereigns; if they remained out of contact for any length of time, others would guess that something had happened to them.
And defending the three Divine Dice would also be incredibly difficult. It would require multiple Legendary Powerhouses to guard them, but aside from himself, Su Ze didn’t have a single one available. Pulamon was also tied up at the moment.
Assigning three Venerable Powerhouses to guard each location was not a surefire plan. The Nian Race could dispatch several of their own Venerables or a single Legendary Powerhouse to reclaim them.
After all, they had to guard against not only the Nian Race powerhouses on Lin Hua Continent, but also those on Flame Emperor Continent and Snowfield Continent.
Su Ze had no idea how many Nian Race members were on those two continents.
But Su Ze couldn’t spare any more personnel.
Leaving a divine-grade artifact for them to use was also unrealistic. A Legendary Powerhouse could barely wield one; for a Venerable Powerhouse, the strain would likely be unbearable.
Besides, Su Ze had more important things to do himself.
He couldn’t go and accept the inheritance yet. Before that, he had to deal with the remaining Nian Race Legendary Powerhouses.
Otherwise, the moment he entered the inheritance, Nian Race Legendaries like Deng Sui and Zhan Meisen would be left completely unchecked.
The Magic Cube flashed, arriving at the Divine Dice on Lin Hua Continent in an instant. Its speed left Lin Tiannan and the others breathless.
Su Ze dropped off three Venerable Powerhouses and helped them clear out any potential Alien Party spies in the area.
He then went to the Divine Dice on Snowfield Continent and Flame Emperor Continent, dropping off three Venerable Powerhouses at each location.
At this point, Su Ze was the only one left on the Magic Cube.
He flew directly into Snowfield Continent and Flame Emperor Continent, activated the Magic Cube’s detection system, and began searching both landmasses for Venerable and Legendary Powerhouses.
Aside from their respective sovereigns, each of these two continents had only one Legendary Powerhouse, and Su Ze found them with ease.
Neither of them was particularly old—somewhere between one hundred and two hundred years of age. They were also on the weaker end of the Legendary tier and stood no chance against Su Ze.
Wielding two divine-grade artifacts, Su Ze was a tiger that had grown wings. An ordinary Legendary-tier powerhouse could only be effortlessly suppressed by him.
Su Ze wasn’t sure if these two were actually members of the Nian Race, so he simply captured them both and locked them in the Magic Cube’s brig.
In addition, he captured every Venerable Powerhouse he came across along the way...
He spent a full day slowly circling the two continents, capturing over twenty Venerable Powerhouses and locking them all away.
He certainly hadn’t caught them all, but the few remaining Venerable Powerhouses would likely be unable to organize and pose a threat to the Venerables from Lin Hua Continent who were guarding the Divine Dice.
’I spent too much time on these two continents...’
Su Ze sighed, feeling helpless.
A lot can happen in one day.
Now, he had to head to the Ancient An Country to deal with Deng Sui and the Black sovereign, Zhan Meisen.
Once he dealt with those two, he could finally have some peace of mind and go accept the core inheritance.
