’I wonder if I can defeat a powerhouse of the same rank who wields a divine artifact now?’

...

「By the Lin River.」

Jiang Pingle and Marina vs. Mr. Ke and Mr. Ya.

The great battle was still raging. With Mr. Ya’s support, Mr. Ke had reabsorbed his clones back into his body.

Mr. Ya could only provide single-target support, so using clones would have just divided his combat power, making it a poor trade-off.

Fusing his clones to strengthen his main body, combined with Mr. Ya’s support, gave Mr. Ke a much greater boost in power.

The battle was now surprisingly evenly matched. This was thanks to Mr. Ke’s Quasi-Divine Skill, which had severely wounded Marina earlier.

No one had expected Mr. Ke to have quietly mastered a Quasi-Divine Skill.

Chen Suifeng and the others felt it was an even greater shame. Mr. Ke was so gifted that he had managed to comprehend and create a Quasi-Divine Skill on his own. If only he had been able to let go of his principles back then and follow Lin Hua’s Legend into the cosmos, he would have likely ascended to godhood long ago.

Mr. Ke had created the Quasi-Divine Skill on his own in his later years, long after the window of opportunity to achieve godhood had closed. His body was in decline and his potential was fading, leaving him unable to take that final step.

Mr. Ya also deserved credit for severely wounding Marina.

With Mr. Ya’s assistance, Mr. Ke had used a "Void" skill to dodge a storm attack, circle behind Marina, and land a successful sneak attack with his Quasi-Divine Skill, nearly killing her on the spot.

If Jiang Pingle hadn’t intervened to save her, Mr. Ke would have pressed his advantage and likely killed Marina.

However, as time passed, the tide of battle began to turn against Mr. Ke. For one, Marina’s injuries were gradually healing. For another, many of Mr. Ya’s most powerful skills had long cooldowns.

Skills like "Void" and "Invincibility" had very long cooldowns. After using a barrage of them, Mr. Ya’s effectiveness was greatly diminished until they were ready again.

Without the support of Mr. Ya’s signature skills, Mr. Ke began to struggle under the combined assault of Jiang Pingle and Marina.

After all, Mr. Ya couldn’t help Mr. Ke much in a direct confrontation.

Still, for a Supreme-rank fighter to get involved in a battle between Legendary powerhouses, briefly turn the tide, and help Mr. Ke stall for so long was already incredibly impressive.

Facing another storm attack from the Storm Horn, Mr. Ya summoned the Double-Sided Turtle Shell, shielding Mr. Ke inside it as well. He then instantly swapped places with his Shadow Clone.

After his Shadow Clone Skill had been upgraded, it had gained the ability to teleport another person along with him.

But the storm swept over too quickly, and Mr. Ya was still caught in the aftershock at its edge. His Double-Sided Turtle Shell shattered, and he was left covered in blood, seriously injured.

"Go and rest," Mr. Ke said, looking at Mr. Ya. He knew the man had already done everything he could.

If he remained on the battlefield, Mr. Ya’s life would be in danger. In a battle of this caliber, even a glancing blow could be fatal or leave him crippled.

Mr. Ya hesitated. He knew he was at his limit, but if he retreated, how could Mr. Ke possibly fend off both Jiang Pingle and Marina?

Mr. Ke reached out, pushed Mr. Ya into the distance, and sent a telepathic message to Chen Suifeng and the others. "Get on the ship and leave now! I’ll hold them off!"

The time Mr. Ke had bought by burning his soul was running out.

His eyes locked onto Marina. He intended to use the last of his strength to take the heavily wounded woman down with him.

Chen Suifeng hesitated as well, but then he steeled himself. He couldn’t let Mr. Ke’s sacrifice be in vain. He prepared to get the others onto the ship to escape.

But just then, a figure materialized out of thin air in the sky above.

Recognizing the newcomer, Mr. Ya was overjoyed. "Boss! I finally held out long enough for you to get here!"

The newcomer was none other than Su Ze, who had arrived aboard the Magic Cube.

He hadn’t revealed the Magic Cube’s existence, having quietly exited the vessel before making his appearance.

Mr. Ke, Chen Suifeng, and the others, however, looked dismayed. Mr. Ke even sighed.

’I can understand why Su Ze appeared, but it’s far from a wise decision.’

’But isn’t that just how people are?’

’There are always things they can’t let go of, things that prevent them from making the most logical choice.’

’Hadn’t he done the same, giving up his chance at godhood for the sake of his own principles?’

Seeing Su Ze, Jiang Pingle studied him for a moment before exclaiming in shock, "You’ve completed your sixth evolution!"

As soon as he spoke, everyone—aside from the few like Mr. Ya who already knew—was stunned.

’Su Ze... had become a Legendary powerhouse?!’

’He’s so young!’

’An eighteen-year-old Legendary powerhouse... it’s simply unheard of!’

Su Ze didn’t answer, descending swiftly to Mr. Ke’s side.

Jiang Pingle’s shock faded, replaced by a sneer. "Do you really think becoming a Legendary powerhouse changes anything?"

Marina glanced at Su Ze, a look of pleasant surprise on her face. She turned to Jiang Pingle. "So this is the number one candidate you mentioned? He’s quite impressive. Make sure you don’t kill him later.

"With him, we can complete our mission at least a century ahead of schedule and return to our home world early!"

These Nian Race Divine Spirits, revived through possession, didn’t actually want to remain on Blue Star.

Here, they couldn’t even break through to godhood, as the resources for ascension had to be prioritized for pure-blooded human powerhouses.

But as long as they could cultivate the first god-ranked member of the Human Race, they would complete the mission their people had given them. Not only could they return to their home world, but they would also receive an additional reward.

It was just that cultivating a god-ranked powerhouse on a planet like Blue Star, where evolutionary power had only been reawakening for a millennium, was no easy task. It might have taken another one or two hundred years. But Su Ze’s appearance gave them hope of completing their mission ahead of schedule.
