I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 941 - 460: Omniscient and Omnipotent

Seeing this, Zeke, the leader, could only steel his heart and continue issuing orders. Their tribe’s principle was to never easily abandon a comrade, but the current situation was clearly far beyond the norm. They had to make sacrifices, or else everyone would die here. The others understood this truth as well. They quickly followed Zeke’s charge, continuing to push their way out of the mine, while the young man left behind was quickly pinned down by his limbs, his body swarmed by various Demons.

The group’s progress attracted even more Demons, and the number of tribesmen forced into unavoidable sacrifice continued to rise. Nira could only offer the consolation that these sacrifices were worth it. The exit to the mining valley was just a stone’s throw away. As long as they left the valley, they would gain a new lease on life. As long as...

Just as they were about to reach the exit path, a dense, dark mass of shadows emerged on the distant hillside like a horde of ghosts.

"So... so many..."

It was a jaw-dropping Demon Legion, and it clashed head-on with their small human tribe. The giant Demon leading the enemy forces was as massive as a small hill. It looked like a Devil and a giant deer all at once, with thighs more than ten times thicker than an adult human’s waist.

CLATTER!

"We’re dead!"

Someone’s weapon slipped from their powerless grasp and fell to the ground. It wasn’t that these people had weak mental fortitude; facing such a terrifying opponent and the sheer scale of the enemy, it was genuinely hard to muster any strong desire to fight back. The Grim Reaper seemed to have already drawn near, lingering around them.

THUD! THUD!

Every running step the giant beast took triggered a violent tremor. Only a few people in the entire tribe managed to maintain their final will to fight. But even they harbored absolutely no hope of survival in their hearts. They only wished to die in battle, so they could at least retain some dignity. Deep in their pupils, the silhouette of the mountain-like beast rapidly expanded. If it stomped down with its pillar-like legs, it would likely crush them into a bloody pulp in an instant.

"O Holy One, please protect us!" Nira gripped her sword hilt tightly, crudely infusing Magic Power into the weapon. She took a deep breath, kicked off the ground with all her might, and charged toward the giant beast to welcome her death.

BAM!

But tragically, despite their resolve to die, before Nira and the others could even charge up to the beast—while they were still hundreds of meters away—they were knocked off balance by the tremors of its stomping hooves, stumbling miserably to the ground.

THUD!

Nira lifted her head. Through her dizzied, blurry vision, the beast’s elephantine legs were already close at hand. In the moment right before her impending death, she felt the flow of time slow down. That awe-inspiring, pure white figure seemed to appear before her eyes once more.

"Am I going to die..." she wondered. The thought surfaced in her mind. Time froze in this very instant.

TAP!

In the nearly frozen space and time, a footstep lightly touched down. Gauss stood in place. His eyeballs darted around a few times at a speed beyond superhuman comprehension, taking in everything in his surroundings.

"One Deer-headed Demon, 367 Jackal-Wolf People, 523 goblins, and 51 Kobolds..."

Amidst his contemplation and observation, time seemed to have been put on pause. He could capture all the surrounding information. Whether it was the regret on the face of the woman struggling to get up not far away, the incredibly slow-motion movements of the giant beast beside him, or the numbers and species of the numerous Demons behind it—everything appeared flawlessly within his mind.

But when he focused his mind on the leading Deer-headed Demon, time instantly resumed flowing, as if put on fast-forward. Using the Deer-headed Demon’s body as the origin point, several illusory figures and trajectories branched out. Each trajectory was the product of space and time coalescing over the next few seconds, shifting specifically in response to his actions.

If he dodged and left, this giant beast would act like a chariot, crushing the several figures in front of it. Their flesh and blood would burst on the ground like crushed fruit, while the beast continued its slaughter deep into the mining valley. As he shifted his gaze away, the timeline changed again. Everything rewound to the origin point. He chose not to leave.

He channeled his Power. Delivering a punch imbued with the enhanced Dragon Power of a Dragon King Descendant, he unexpectedly smashed his fist into the pale, massive-antlered faceplate of his opponent. The Deer-headed Demon’s terrified eyes reflected his figure. The monster tried to resist, but Gauss was too fast, surpassing the limits of what it could react to.

His fist, wrapped in a swirling aura, landed right before its shrinking pupils. Cracks first appeared on its tough, deer-headed mask, then spread out and shattered into pieces like drifting snow, revealing the ugly, withered face underneath. Rings of concussive shockwaves expanded outward from his fist.

The hill-sized Deer-headed Demon was sent flying by brute force, crashing into the massive Monster Legion behind it. The 54 Jackal-Wolf People and Level 12 goblins directly behind its body would be crushed to death on the spot...

If he returned to the origin point once more...

He seemed to see everything! Omniscient and omnipotent like the Gods, toying with the loom of time.
