I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 915 - 451: Ingenious Use of Mechanisms

At this moment, the Blue Dragon was under crushing pressure.

If it were human, it would already be drenched in sweat.

The humanoid figure floating in midair in the distance even made it think of its foster mother, the Green Dragon Queen Aiselas. Of course, this wasn’t to say Gauss’s Power was already enough to rival that of an adult True Dragon—what the two brought it in terms of pressure was completely different.

If the Green Dragon Queen represented overwhelming strength—the sense of helplessness a young dragon feels before an adult—then the enemy in the distance gave it an extremely peculiar feeling.

His oppressive aura was far inferior to that of the Green Dragon Queen, yet whenever it looked at him, a sense of heart-palpitating dread kept welling up.

As if the other party held some kind of special Power specifically targeting it.

Though it was only a feeling, the Blue Dragon believed it absolutely.

The stronger a creature is, the more accurate its intuition tends to be, especially when it comes to matters of life and death.

The countless ancestral Powers sealed within the Dragon Blood flowing through its body all seemed to be warning it: the enemy it faced was an extraordinarily terrifying opponent.

The Blue Dragon flew with all its might, trying to get away from Gauss.

On the other side, Gauss, having completely digested the Dragon Race bloodline, finally moved.

Earlier, because his body state had not yet stabilized, he had refrained from going all out against the young Blue Dragon.

After all, the Blue Dragon was trapped inside the Silent Birdcage; as long as it was within the allotted time, Gauss could act whenever he pleased.

But his body was in an abnormal state, and using his Power too violently could trigger uncontrollable risks.

Fortunately, now everything was in place, and he could finally cut loose.

The Power within Gauss’s body had reached an unprecedented level of ferocity.

As if a Giant Dragon with fangs bared and claws outstretched was sealed inside his human frame.

Power! Boundless, overflowing Power!

Magic Power surged through his body like a great river in flood.

"Boom!!"

His waist-length white hair slowly drifted about.

The pair of golden, dragon-like vertical pupils in his eye sockets gleamed with frightening intensity.

His mind had entered an exceptionally clear state.

Previously, in order to conserve some energy, he had not fully drawn upon the Dragon and Ghost Contract; now there was no need to hold back.

This was another reason why, in the Blue Dragon’s Perception, Gauss was undergoing an explosive surge in strength.

Gauss slowly turned his head, looking toward that rapidly flying figure in the distance.

It had already gotten far enough away, circling around the outskirts of Dragon Valley, the invisible barrier of the Silent Birdcage forcing it to fly only along the edge.

Four minutes gone; six minutes left.

More than enough.

Gauss shrugged.

The next instant, the energy Dragon Wings behind him suddenly swelled a notch, brilliant tail flames extending from their edges.

"Buzz!"

The Dragon Wings beat behind him.

The air around Gauss seemed to warp.

Faint black fringes even appeared around his body, like an illusion caused by him moving so fast he was tearing the air apart.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Dozens of Gausses appeared lined up across the sky, their connected trajectory pointing straight toward the young Blue Dragon in the distance.

The Blue Dragon, upon Detection of this scene, immediately flew with all the strength it could muster, veering toward the other side.

Yet its speed—several times, even ten times faster than ordinary flying Demons—was still far too slow before the current Gauss.

The distance between dragon and man was shrinking at a breakneck pace.

"What rank of Spatial Magic is this, exactly?"

The Blue Dragon caught the flickering Gauss in the sky out of the corner of its eye, and terror surged in its heart.

But its judgment was actually wrong.

Gauss was not using Any Door right now; this extreme speed came purely from Power augmented by Ghost Energy and Dragon Blood, unleashed through the Dragon Wings.

In terms of pure movement speed, flight with Dragon Wings was in fact even faster than Any Door.

Any Door, after all, had intervals between uses, and each single teleport covered only 300 meters at most; moreover, because it was point-to-point transport, the overall movement trajectory tended to be less fluid. Against agile opponents, it was nowhere near as handy as one might imagine.

By contrast, Dragon Wing flight, easily breaking the sound barrier, was far smoother.

The one drawback was the need to withstand the tremendous air pressure slamming into him, but right now Gauss’s entire body was encased in a layer of Ghost Energy Armor, so he was entirely unaffected.

"He’s gone!"

Panicking as it flew at top speed, the Blue Dragon suddenly lost sight of Gauss in its peripheral vision—and just as unease rose within it...

"Tap!"

A hand landed without warning on the edge of its Dragon Wing.

Gauss had already flown up above its back, right in its blind spot, which was why it had briefly lost track of him.

"Bang!!"

A powerful rebounding force exploded out from the Blue Dragon’s body.

Gauss could feel the Defensive Magic along the Blue Dragon’s surface activating, trying to blast him away.

This had to be one of the Blue Dragon’s personal protective arts.

One must not underestimate this repulsion—it was exceedingly strong.

And with the Blue Dragon’s speed, as long as an opponent was knocked away, it could easily use that window to open a large enough gap and then counter with attack Magic.

Far more practical than simple defense alone.

Unfortunately, though the force was strong, Gauss’s arms, like steel-reinforced claws, remained locked tightly around the Blue Dragon’s body.

The Ghost Energy and Dragon Energy flaring along his surface were clashing madly with that repulsive force.

The Blue Dragon, realizing Gauss was already on its back, grew even more frantic.

Its body twisted in wild spirals, diving and climbing in rapid succession, trying to use sheer inertia in tandem with the repulsion to fling Gauss off.

But Gauss remained as steady as Mount Tai.

"Dawn!"

Just as the Blue Dragon was about to ram into the mountainside, intending to use a high-speed turn to smash Gauss into the rock wall, that cold voice rang out from its back.
