Late at night, White Bird City remained brightly lit.

High and low, white paper lanterns were scattered across the sky, emitting a luminous glow, floating slowly.

A middle-aged man in his forties staggered out of Fan Building.

Along familiar streets, he walked to a certain junction. Raising his head to look at the distant main road, then turned to look at the narrow alley on the left. His somewhat befuddled mind wobbled as he mumbled a few words and turned to walk into the narrow alley entrance.

The lights behind him gradually dimmed, and the bustling sounds faded away too.

At one moment, the hairs on the back of the middle-aged man's neck stood up, as if sensing something tightly following behind him. He shivered and sobered up a bit. He suddenly turned around, only to find nothing there.

"Is it just an illusion?"

The middle-aged man felt perplexed.

He looked up at the faintly visible white paper lantern hanging in mid-air and was about to turn around and continue walking. When he turned back, he faced a pair of blood-red large eyes.

"Is the City Lord releasing the Black Wind Demon to scare people again?" The middle-aged man looked at the eyes wrapped in black and red mist, feeling speechless.

"Alright, alright, I'm scared, hurry up and leave." He waved his hand impatiently.

But those blood-red eyes remained absolutely still.

The middle-aged man rolled his eyes and directly approached, reaching out to push the Black Wind Demon aside.

"Go do whatever you should, don't block my way home."

Usually, the Black Wind Demon that moved like a balloon when pushed was now completely immovable.

The middle-aged man looked up in confusion at the blood-red eyes within the black mist.

A surge of crazed and ruthless icy killing intent suddenly invaded his mind.

This thing... really intends to eat me?!

It was as if a basin of ice water was poured atop his head, and the middle-aged man's muddled brain instantly cleared.

"Move your damn legs! Run!" The middle-aged man screamed desperately in his mind, yet his entire body seemed to be under the Immobilization Spell. Instinctive fear and trembling kept him frozen in place.

Buzz!

In mid-air, the pair of eyes flashed with a blood-red light, the black mist suddenly swelled, transforming into a large mouth formed by mist, and swallowed the middle-aged man whole.

Immediately, the black mist struck the ground, vanishing abruptly along with the middle-aged man.

The entire alley returned to tranquility, the white paper lantern in the sky drifted slowly by, as if nothing had happened moments ago.

...

"Someone disappeared inexplicably?"

Xu Gui nodded solemnly.

"There are two regular patrons of Fan Building, who stopped visiting suddenly and inexplicably, I feel something is off." His expression was serious.

"Can't it be because they turned over a new leaf? Started cultivating their mind and character?"

"Absolutely impossible!"

"I can't even quit, they couldn't either." Xu Gui said with certainty.

"Hey, you do have some self-awareness." Chen Mu was speechless.

"Do you know where they live?"

Xu Gui looked troubled.

He had inquired before coming, but unfortunately, nobody knew.

"Then we can only have the City Defense Camp check it out."

Chen Mu did not think Xu Gui was making a fuss over nothing and immediately contacted the three generals Cheng Hu, asking them to mobilize the City Defense Camp for verification.

Only upon contact was it revealed that over the past half month, the City Defense Camp had received dozens of missing person cases consecutively.

Even without Xu Gui's findings, Cheng Hu was already planning to report this matter to Chen Mu.

"Dozens of people disappearing inexplicably, something isn't right." By White Bird Lake, Chen Mu listened to Wu Tong detailing the situation, and frowned.

Mist Ridge was already an eerie place by nature, now people are suddenly disappearing...

Investigation is required, and it must be thorough!

...

Several days later.

Remote alley.

"The place where Zhong Hui finally disappeared is here?" Xu Gui questioned as he scrutinized the narrow alley.

"It was witnessed that Zhong Hui walked into this alley, and never seen again."

"It most likely occurred here." General Wu Tong explained.

Chen Mu nodded slightly and quietly perceived.

The Truth Listening Divine Power did not detect any differences, but the Seven Emotions Curse, which just stepped into Sixth Stage, discovered some clues.

A trace of fear lingered in this alley, refusing to disperse.

This trace of emotion was thin in concentration, yet extremely resilient in texture.

"The owner of this fear emotion was genuinely terrified at the time, scared to death."

"Or rather... it is the fear of death itself!" Chen Mu's heart sank.

Zhong Hui, who was mentioned, is probably doomed.

For the next hour, under Wu Tong's guidance, Chen Mu visited seven or eight definite locations where people disappeared.

More or less, these places had similar traces of fear remaining.

One or two could be due to personal disputes leading to fatal fights, but when it comes to dozens at once...

"An unwelcomed guest has arrived in White Bird City!"

Chen Mu couldn't help but squint his eyes.

...

Nether Demon Heaven.

Somewhere within the boundless Blood Sea, stands a colossal black wall reaching the heavens and the earth, its ends invisible to the naked eye.

Upon closer inspection, the black wall continuously sways, resembling a curtain moved by the wind.

All around the curtain, clusters of black and red smoke swirl sporadically.

These clusters hover around the black curtain's vicinity, consistently probing and touching it.

One cluster of black smoke seemingly discovers something and suddenly clings tightly to a spot on the curtain. Then, much like a tadpole, it frantically waves its black-and-red smoky tail, striving to burrow into the curtain.

The next moment.

Zip!

The black smoke cluster suddenly drills into the black curtain and vanishes.

At the instant the black smoke cluster disappears, a patch of pitch-black shadow abruptly appears on the blood-colored sea surface.

Buzz!

Countless scarlet eyeballs suddenly float up on the shadow.

Beside the shadow in mid-air, a young man clad in white attire with his hair tied in a ponytail silently appears.

He sits cross-legged in mid-air as if resting upon an invisible meditation mat. His right fist props against his face, while his left arm lazily rests on his knee. His two crystal red eyes casually scrutinize the spot where the black-red smoke cluster disappeared.

"If the Yama Blood God Child can get through, there's indeed a fissure; it's just uncertain if it can be used to pry open the Yama Cave Heaven." Lan Zhang spoke with genuine interest.

"Certainly possible." The confidently echoed voice of the No-Eyed Child was filled with certainty.

"Normally, even when such weak points appear, they would quickly vanish."

"But here, it's different."

"It'll be mended by the cave heaven's power, but before long, it will reappear."

"This is our opportunity."

"The remnants of Yama Cave Heaven have fallen into Nether Demon Heaven for so many years, constantly being eroded by the Blood Sea; it seems it's finally reached its limit." Lan Zhang sighed.

"I have sent dozens of Yama Blood God Children inside. As long as this weak point reappears, we can use the Blood God's Son's energy as a lead to expand the fissure and completely open Yama Cave Heaven!" No-Eyed Child was brimming with confidence: "Based on my observation, this weak point is bound to reappear in two days."

"Then we'll wait for two days."

...

Lan Zhang and No-Eyed Child just floated above the Blood Sea,

Regardless of how the blood sea waves swept, the surroundings of the two remained impervious, as if anchored in mid-air like nails.

Two days later.

All of Wu Mu's numerous aimlessly roving eyes were intently fixed on the curtain.

But from morning till night, the black curtain remained intact, with no sign of the expected weak point.

"No worries." Wu Mu felt quite composed.

"Initially I thought I could save some effort using the cave heaven fissure, but it's clearly not feasible now."

"The Yama Blood God Children I've painstakingly sent inside must have already feasted on enough blood."

"Sacrificing those dozens of blood Yama, though more arduous, should still connect the inside and outside."

Wu Mu immediately performed a secret technique, after a while, he finally sensed something.

"Why do I feel the Blood God's Son is swiftly moving?"

"Forget it, once inside everything will be clear."

Just as he prepared to continue casting spells, he noticed those indistinct Blood God's Sons began vanishing one by one.

Before he could react, all Blood God's Sons disappeared as if something had swallowed them whole.

"No way!"

"The Blood God's Sons I painstakingly sent in, just gone like this?!"

Wu Mu's countless eyeballs instantly widened in disbelief.

"Looks like not everyone in Yama Cave Heaven is out of touch and dreaming." Lan Zhang chuckled lightly.

...

A secluded street in White Bird City.

"Is this thing causing trouble?"

Chen Mu looked at the corner shadow, where a black-red smoke cluster suddenly emerged, his expression darkened.

It resembled a mutated Black Wind Demon.

It was hidden deeply.

If it weren't for my Truth Listening Divine Power enveloping the entire city and my Seven Emotions Curse discerning the seven emotions, it wouldn't have been easy to find.

Hmm?

Still bold enough to struggle?!

Seeing the black-red smoke cluster begin to expand within the Qi Forbidden Hundred Miles Imprisonment, Chen Mu's face darkened.

Candle Dragon!

A gigantic dragon head appeared out of thin air, swallowing the peculiar Black Wind Demon whole.

Then, golden light flickered as Chen Mu flashed across White Bird City and vanished again.

In only a dozen breaths, all the strange Black Wind Demons hidden in shadows across the entire city were, without exception, swallowed by the Candle Dragon Dharma Form and thoroughly sealed.
