Chapter 62 - Stop Pestering Me
Royal Pearl Hotel.
Within the hotel suite on the building's 47th floor, Cedric Doyle, while wearing his bathrobe, was seated by the balcony with a swirling glass of red wine in his hand as he gazed at the night city outside.
In the bedroom behind him, a beautiful woman with unnatural blonde hair laid lazily in bed with a white blanket covering her naked body while two pinkish blush could still be seen on her face.
Evidently, they had just finished an intimate session between man and woman.
Suddenly, the black smartphone on the glass table beside Cedric Doyle rang before he glanced over.
Seeing the caller id shown on the screen, he accepted the call with a press of a button and placed it on loudspeaker.
[Young Master Cedric, the information you tasked me to find on the person you wanted me to find out about has been gathered.]
The person answered on the other side of the call.
"Oh? That's great. Let's hear it then. What do you have on the person?" Cedric Doyle replied with pleasant surprise, not minding that the woman behind him could be listening in on their phone call.
[Right. Actually, there had been no information recorded on this person. However, it was just recently updated. Nevertheless, a bit of bribing was enough to gain access to the data. It seems this person is not that important. His name is Albion Black.]
The person spoke.
"Albion Black? Is he a person from the provincial city's Black family?" Cedric Doyle asked with a frown.
He would not be able to do anything if the person was truly from a behemoth family like the Black family.
[No, Young Master Cedric. It is just a coincidence. After all, the Black family is a rather commonly used name before they rose to power. That person… should not be related. He is just an orphan.]
The person explained.
After hearing this, the frown on Cedric Doyle's face did not relax in the least.
"That can't be right. That person seems very close to the Seymour Family. He can't just be a nobody. Tell me everything you learned." Cedric Doyle stated.
"Oh, my. I wonder who could have made Young Master Cedric so worked up over?" The pretty woman said coquettishly while making her way over in a nightgown and massage Cedric Doyle's shoulders.
However, Cedric Doyle waved his hand with a frown, "Go away, woman. I'm busy."
The woman pursed her lips unhappily before nodding, "I'm sorry, Young Master Cedric."
[Young Master Cedric?]
The person on the phone asked.
Cedric Doyle shortly shook his head before saying, "It's nothing. Continue."
[Yes, Young Master. According to the information I have here, the person was a graduate of Sunflower Orphanage. Apart from Klein Seymour gifting this person the hilltop mansion, there does not seem to be any other history on this person. He is almost a blank slate, Young Master Cedric.]
The person said.
"A forgery, huh?" Cedric Doyle muttered with a cold flicker in his eyes.
Forged identities were commonplace in almost every big city. So long as there was money, power, or status, nearly anything can be achieved.
It was not hard to guess the forgery after spotting the inconsistency.
[Yes, that is most likely the case. Either this person has some redeemable trait, or he is Klein Seymour's bastard son. Otherwise, I cannot imagine why Klein Seymour would gift this person such a valuable home.]
The person responded.
"A redeemable trait, or Mr. Klein's bastard son…" Cedric Doyle immediately that Albion was much more handsome than he was, and the jealousy in his heart surged.
"Being handsome could be considered a redeemable trait… dammit, Mr. Klein must be shaping this person to be his son-in-law after all!" He said with gnashed teeth in conclusion.
[Eh? Klein Seymour's family does not care much about wealth… so this could possibly be the reason. His two daughters are so beautiful, after all. If even his son-in-law is handsome, then at least he would not have to worry about holding an ugly grandson…]
The person said casually.
"Dammit!" Cedric Doyle cussed with a spoiled mood.
The woman in the bedroom shivered slightly before keeping silent and still, afraid of making Cedric Doyle's mood worse and direct his anger at her.
[By the way, Young Master, I also managed to get a hold of the person's phone number. Do you want me to…]
"Send it to me!" Cedric Doyle barked.
Shortly after receiving the number from the person, Cedric Doyle immediately ended the call to dial the person.
The call quickly connected.
[New number. Who dis?]
When Cedric Doyle heard such a deep voice coming from the other side of the phone call, the words he was about to bombard the person were immediately stuck in his throat.
"I'm looking for Albion Black. To whom am I speaking to?" Cedric Doyle asked carefully with a frown, not recognizing the person's voice.
On the other side of the call, Albion was surprised to hear his name. It seems like someone that knows him.
Understanding this much, Albion responded casually with a normal tone, "Oh, that person is me. Who are you? What do you want? And why should I care?"
"Uh…" Cedric Doyle was struck speechless for a moment before he angrily said, "Listen here, you son of a b*tch. Who I am is not important! What's important is that you better scram out of Silvercove City if you know what's good for you! There are some people you can't get close to, nor some people you can offend!"
"Damn, so loud?" Albion frowned while rubbing his ear before asking, "Which dog is barking?"
"This dog is barking!" Cedric Doyle roared.
"Oh-ho, this dog knows how to speak the human tongue well. I am impressed." Albion said lackadaisically with insincere amazement as he recalled the voice of the caller.
At the same time, Cedric Doyle's face was immediately flushed red from the humiliation before he furiously thundered, "You're asking for death!"
"Oh, is that so? I can say the same for you." Albion responded nonchalantly before adding, "I don't know what your problem is, but don't you think you are barking up the wrong tree? If you stop pestering me now, that would be the end of it. I will not look for you, and I will not pursue you. However, if you don't, I will look for you. I will find you. And I will kill you. Capisce?"
Beep.
Albion ended the call.
