Chapter 284 - Hunter Association Leader's Call
"A bug infestation in Stillwater City?"
Polemos frowned for a moment before recalling his subordinates mentioning such a matter, and very recently, on top of that.
At that moment, an officer in the control center suddenly cried to Emperor Polemos.
"Your Majesty, the alien civilization has broken our last line of battle droids! Direct confrontation is imminent!"
"So this day has finally come. Send out the elite squadrons! Those psychic aliens must be carrying quite a juicy amount of experience!"
"Yes, Your Majesty! I will relay your orders to them at once!"
Albion overheard the exchange in the background before Polemos returned his attention to him.
"My apologies, my Lord."
"Seems like you've got your hands full over there. Do you require assistance?"
"Not at all, my Lord. Just a trifling issue. This subordinate has been waiting for their arrival," Polemos rejected Albion's offer before mentioning, "About the bug infestation, this subordinate has heard about it from Maverick Cohen."
"Maverick Cohen… The one you sent over to manage the Blackthorne Group, huh? For him to be aware of the situation in Stillwater City, I suppose he has already unified Silvercove City under one banner?" Albion inquired curiously.
"Precisely so, my Lord." Polemos admitted with a nod before asking, "But why did you bring up the bug infestation, my Lord? Is there a problem?"
"Is there a problem, you ask?" Albion rubbed his chin with a peculiar look before replying, "One-third of the population in Stillwater City's central district has already been infected by bugs. So you tell me, is that a problem or not?"
"What?" Polemos was stunned by the revelation before his expression quickly turned grave in the next moment. "That's not just a problem. That's a serious problem!"
"I've already sent Wudi to handle this matter, but he will need your wisdom to save the infected people. After all, we are talking about millions of people. Who knows how many of them will become our soldiers in the future?"
"My Lord speaks perfect sense. Losing millions of lives where it could have been avoided would indeed be a great loss of human resources. Considering the death toll will only increase alongside the growing danger of the Apocalypse, we cannot afford to be extravagant and indifferent to human lives."
Polemos agreed with Albion's opinion before suddenly recalling Empress Una's previous call and bringing it to Albion's attention.
"Right, Empress Una called earlier, asking for you, my Lord. She wishes to negotiate peace and rejoin our side in return for connecting us with the elven tribe that resided in the newly appeared World Tree, where it is said to be rich in spiritual herbs and energy."
"However, this subordinate does not believe my Lord needs Empress Una's help to connect with the elven tribe. Given my Lord's capabilities, it would be all too easy for my Lord to establish a friendly relationship with any force in this world."
"But even if my Lord isn't interested in establishing friendly ties to this elven tribe, taking their resources by force without them being able to do anything is still well within my Lord's capability. That being said, what does my Lord want to do with them?"
Polemos asked at the end of his long speech.
Albion mulled over Polemos's words before he muttered, "What do I want to do with them, huh? We can't take their resources by force. That's not nice. Only tyrants do that. We should ask for their permission first."
Polemos immediately doubted his ears as he heard the Lord's answer over the phone call. Was this still the Dark Lord he knew?
"What if they don't grant permission despite us asking nicely?"
"Then we will take the resources by force."
"…" Polemos was speechless for a moment as his lips twitched. Then, after taking a short moment to recover, he uttered, "But you said…"
"I'm not a nice person, and I am also a tyrant," Albion nonchalantly stated before asking, "Is that a problem?"
"No, my Lord!" Polemos answered firmly.
He was just overthinking the matter. The Dark Lord was still the Dark Lord.
"Well, let's leave it at that for now," Albion ended the topic and mentioned, "In the following days, Wudi will inquire cultivation guidance from you. You are permitted to teach him the Heaven-grade Starmoon Refining Art."
"Understood, my Lord."
Beep.
Eventually, Albion ended the call before stowing away his phone with a sigh of relief since he made all the arrangements that required immediate attention.
He could solve all the issues in the world if he wanted to. However, he was already standing at the top of the world.
If he did everything by himself, he would have no time for himself while his subordinates and disciples will be missing out on opportunities that could help them temper themselves and grow.
"Master, are you finished now?" Fenriri asked excitedly after seeing her master's call finally ended while she was waiting obediently in silence.
"Un." Albion calmly nodded before urging her, "Let's go. We've leaving the city."
"We are….taking the spaceship again, Master?" Fenriri's expression appeared forced as she asks, "Where are we going this time?"
"To see some greenery and pointy eyes," Albion stated with a smile.
Shortly after, the two entered the private spaceship before deactivating stealth mode and taking off in the direction of the Armentia Continent's largest rainforest.
Bzzt!
Pompom was roaming the airspace of Stillwater City like a lone sovereign of the sky when it suddenly received a mental message via its spiritual connection to Albion.
Roar!
It gave a quick roar before chasing after Albion's spaceship furiously as it struggled to keep up with the spaceship's incredible flight speed.

Silvercove City, Hunter Association
Secretary Jane arrived at Branch Leader Johnson's office before she handed over some paperwork and said, "There are only two days left until the Hunter Exam commences. Here are the details of the plan for the day, Branch Leader Johnson. Please review it—"
Just as she was about to finish speaking, the office telephone rang.
Ring, ring~!
"Let me answer this first," Branch Leader Johnson stated before picking up the phone, "Hello? Association Leader? The Association Leader wants to change the schedule for the Hunter Exam…? Yes… Okay, I understand… Understood."
Beep.
After speaking to the Hunter Association's leader on the phone for some time, Branch Leader Johnson eventually hung up the call with a long sigh.
"The Association Leader from headquarters called?" Secretary inquired with surprise before Branch Leader Johnson nodded depressively.
"Yeah… We have orders to push back the Hunter Exam. It seems the Association Leader intends to implement some changes to how the Hunter Exam will be conducted…"
"I-I see…"
Secretary Jane was taken aback.
