Chapter 281 - Operation: Hero Saves The Beauties
Elf King Erendriel.
He was the ruler of the Elven Tribe of Elvaraden and a mighty cultivator at the Spirit Manifestation Realm, which was two great realms higher than Empress Una.
Despite a significant disparity in strength between them, Empress Una showed no fear as she faced such a person.
The elven race was not far from what the world had always depicted them; intelligent, beautiful, nature-loving, and long-living.
One could say that they were heaven's favorite, blessed with all the goodness of the world. They had it all.
But even such a blessed race was not perfect.
Like all other races, they have their flaws. Even if they were born inherently good, there would always be a rotten egg in the basket.
Fortunately for Empress Una, Elf King Erendriel stood on the side of reason and peace before violence.
"It's a pity that we didn't get to see the True Immortal, but that's that. As for our cooperation, I believe we will be able to get along very well, Empress Una. We are very interested in your technology that does not require the power of spiritual energy."
The Elf King Erendriel expressed his opinion and extended his hand to Empress Una before she accepted it with a smile.
"It's fortunate that communication is not hindered by language barriers. Nevertheless, my people will do their best to help your people familiarize with our technology and adapt to our world quickly. But return, you will…"
"Naturally, we will provide spiritual resources and spirit stones as repayment for Empress Una's assistance," Elf King Erendriel assured.
However, his expression shortly became slightly more serious.
"But to ensure that both our interests are met, we should discuss the value of our exchange in detail. This will ensure that our trade is fair so that neither side will suffer a loss in this equal exchange," Elf King Erendriel stated calmly.
"Of course! I was just thinking the same, Elf King Erendriel," Empress Una replied courteously before adding, "If you don't mind an old lady in the Spirit Refinement Realm like me, I think we can be good friends."
As Empress Una spoke, she rubbed the Elf King's hand affectionately with one of her fingers as she attempted to seduce him with her charm.
Even if she wanted more benefits from their cooperation, she would not risk getting on the elven tribe's bad side because of it.
She needed powerful allies in order to survive.
"Hmm…"
Elf King Erendriel hummed with a frown while glancing down at their handshake, which they had yet to release from each other's grip.
It was unknown what the Elf King was thinking, but after coming to some conclusions after a moment, he glanced up for their eyes to meet.
"If Empress Una is considered an old lady, then this King will not know what he should call himself. Let us discuss back at my palace and allow this King to show Empress Una the hospitality of our elven race."
Elf King Erendriel smiled wryly and said.
"Since Elf King Erendriel is so accommodating, this Empress looks forward to seeing the beautiful sceneries of your elven tribe."
Empress Una replied warmly before giving the order to her subordinates to follow the elves deeper into the forest.
When all was said about establishing a friendship with the elves, it was only at this moment that Empress Una was permitted entry into their tribe.
Before this, she could only scout the perimeters and communicate from outside the territory of their beloved forest.
…
…
…
Somewhere north of Silvercove City, Albion and Fenriri continued to ride on Pompom's back at low altitude until they seemingly arrived at another city.
"Seems like we have unwittingly arrived at Stillwater City, which is said to be north of Silvercove City. Since we are here, we might as well check it out," Albion stated.
"Yes, Master!"
Fenriri complied obediently with bright eyes while enjoying the thrills of the ride before Albion's suspicious gaze fell on her.
"By the way, Riri. Are you okay? You're not feeling unwell of anything?"
"What do you mean, Master? Am I supposed to be…"
As if her body was being reminded by Albion, Fenriri's face quickly paled with a green look before her eyes rolled back and foams were formed in her mouth.
"Master, help…" Fenriri pleaded.
As such, Albion was forced to regulate her body to negate the motion sickness.
Shortly after, the two of them suddenly heard two different cries for help before they raised their head and saw two 'birds' falling from the sky.
"Help me~~~!!!"
"Ahh~! Save me~!"
The two 'birds' cried.
As the two plummeted past Pompom's altitude, Albion simply glanced at them nonchalantly before fixing his gaze on the direction ahead.
"Master, are you not going to save those two peacocks—No, I think they were supposed to be red and blue phoenixes?" Fenriri mentioned with doubt before shaking her head and asked with surprise, "Anyway, you aren't going to save them?"
Albion gave another glance back before he shrugged, "I'm not sure what kind of retarded phoenix breed they were, but I think we will be doing them a favor by letting them die. Then, maybe their phoenix flames will revive them into proper-looking phoenixes."
"Oh… That makes sense. I guess phoenixes don't really need saving," Fenriri noted with a short nod before they continued on their way.
As for the two 'phoenixes,' they crashlanded into the ground with a loud bang, kicking up a cloud of dust and soil.
Shortly after the dust settled, two human imprints could be seen in the ground as Ceone and Cetwo's limbs twitched from the concussion of their fall, but they seemed okay, otherwise.
"Ugh… Something is wrong, Ceone. According to the plan [Hero Saves the Beauties], the True Immortal was supposed to catch us in his arms, and thereby our eyes would have met up close and form an initial connection of intimacy…"
"Perhaps we fell too quickly, so the True Immortal didn't catch a glance of our beautiful appearances, which in turns, would have stirred the True Immortal into saving us from the fall?" Ceone speculated with a frown.
"Either way, the operation was a failure. The seduction tip in this magazine is a bloody scam. We need to figure out something else."
"Well… Maybe we should have followed strictly with its instruction… After all, it was written that we should pretend to slip on the ground and not fall out of the sky…" Cetwo scratched her head awkwardly with doubt.
