Chapter 267 - No Mercy On The Young
"Master, from what Fenriri can see, this is some sort of social gathering event," Fenriri mentioned before asking curiously, "Why did Master send that person off like that? He seemed quite enthusiastic."
"We're only here for the merchandise, not to make friends," Albion stated.
"Oh…" Fenriri uttered with her lowered in thought.
Albion patted her head before saying, "Alright, let us have a look around. There's a lot of stuff on sale. See if there's anything you like."
"Oh? Will Master buy for Fenriri?" Fenriri's eyes lit up.
Her gaze immediately locked onto a food store specializing in selling pancakes with character arts drawn on them.
However, Albion casually shook his head and denied, " No."
Fenriri's hopes were immediately dashed, causing her to wear a disappointed look before Albion nudged her on the head.
"Look at you, such a little glutton."
"It can't be helped, Master. Everything looks nice and smells nice too," Fenriri said with a sulking expression as she gazed at the other kids receiving snacks from their parents.
Albion was amused while looking at her expression.
Whether Fenriri was a wolf-girl or not, she was still a child and is easily influenced by what she sees and hears.
"I'm not going to buy things for you because you are going to buy what you want yourself," Albion stated before he began educating Fenriri.
"In this world, if you want something, you have to get it yourself and not wait for someone to just offer it to you. Robbing bad people is okay, but you can't rob good people. Today, Master will teach you how to use money."
Having said that, Albion took a stack of cash out of his Ashura Ring and handed it to Fenriri as he said, "Consider this your weekly pay as you work for me."
"Whether you get more or less of this money each week is dependent on your contribution and position, but generally, it should be around this amount each week. You have to learn how to use it sparingly to last the week."
"You see, this world heavily revolves around money. If you don't have money, you can't buy food. And if you can't buy food, you will starve. More money can be earned by taking on more jobs, understand? You can't just rob people all the time."
As Albion explained, Fenriri listened seriously before she eventually nodded obediently, "Oh, Fenriri understands, Master."
With her gaze fixed on the pancake store and her hands gripping the stack of cash tightly, Fenriri asked, "Can I go buy now, Master?"
"Go right ahead," Albion gestured with his hand.
Fenriri's eyes brightened at once after receiving her master's permission before she rushed over immediately.
However, the closer she got to the pancake store surrounded by customers, she became more hesitant and insecure.
Nevertheless, she managed to reach the back of the line queueing up to be served.
Everything seemed to be going well up until that point—but alas, a snotty boy shoved Fenriri aside and took her spot in the next moment, causing her to drop her money.
Seeing that the money given by her master was dropped and stepped on by others, Fenriri was immediately livid.
Her ice claws extended immediately as she wanted to rip the clueless snotty boy in front of her apart.
With her strength, she could easily kill the snotty boy.
However, she did not want to cause trouble for her master on her first independent task. As such, she halted her claw attack at the last moment and silently stood behind the snotty boy with a gloomy look.
The snotty boy only felt a bit of wind and thought nothing of it as he continued to wait in line impatiently.
Albion oversaw the entire scene before he shook his head with a helpless look.
In the next moment, he waltzed up and gave the snotty boy a kick in the rear, causing the snotty boy to quickly fall to the ground before Albion patted Fenriri on the head.
"You must also remember that my people cannot be bullied and humiliated by others because you all represent me," Albion stated coolly before saying, "If someone pushes you around, you do not necessarily need to kill them."
"But it doesn't mean you do nothing about it and let yourself be wronged either. If people push you, you can push them back. Just don't be a pushover."
"Understood, Master," Fenriri mulled over her master's words seriously.
At the same time, the snotty boy did not cry, surprisingly, but still had a sulking face that was on the verge of crying, nonetheless.
"Hey, buddy. You can't just kick a kid like that," a male bystander quickly spoke up for the snotty boy as he intervened.
"You mean that little sh*t?" Albion glanced at the snotty boy, who started giving him a defiant and venomous look.
It was definitely the look of a spoiled young master in the making.
The male bystander frowned at Albion's words and prepared to reprimand him when he suddenly noticed he could speak—no matter how hard he tried to open his mouth.
When the other bystanders saw the scene of the male bystander being muted by an unknown power, they were immediately startled before thinking twice about involving themselves in the mess.
The 13-year-old snotty boy was also startled, but he still barked, "How dare you kick me! Do you know who I am?!"
"Don't know, and don't care. You wanted pancakes, right? Wrong, you don't. You should be going over to that stationery store over there and buy yourself an eraser instead," Albion stated.
"How would you know what I want and don't want?" the snotty boy frowned before asking, "Why would I need an eraser anyway?"
"Because you are a mistake!" Albion stated firmly.
"…"
Albion's words were unexpected, but at the same time, very savage and ruthless, immediately tearing right into the snotty boy's heart, causing the snotty boy to break down in tears and run back to his parents.
"What's wrong, my precious?" the snotty boy's mother asked before adding, "Did someone bully you?"
"Wahhh… Someone said I was a mistake!"
"How do they know that?" the snotty boy's mother was shocked before she quickly realized the error in her words.
Alas, it was too late.
Her words were akin to admitting the truth, causing the snotty boy to wail even louder in her arms, "Wahhh!"
