Chapter 265 - White Impermanence
As Albion and Fenriri headed to the anime convention, a black spatial crack suddenly appeared in front of them, causing Albion to paused his steps.
At the same time, Fenriri turned her head to Albion confusedly and asked, "Master, why did we suddenly stop?"
"Why did we suddenly stop, you ask?" Albion repeated with a raised brow before he pointed ahead, "Can you not see the spatial crack in front?"
"What spatial crack?" Fenriri muttered with surprise before she took a look ahead but saw nothing except a busy road filled with pedestrians.
Did her master go crazy or something?
A few moments passed before Albion narrowed his eyes as he saw the clueless pedestrians walk straight through the spatial crack as if it was only an illusion—an illusion that only he could see.
"Something's not right," Albion frowned.
Eyes of Ashura!
Albion quickly activated his ocular skill, causing his eyes to glow with a crimson light before he saw the dense black aura of the Underworld seeping out of the spatial crack.
"Underworld Aura?" Albion immediately raised an eyebrow.
After quickly surfing the Dark Emperor's memories, Albion's eyes flickered with an understanding of the situation.
'Someone is coming out from the Underworld!'
As Albion arrived at this conclusion, a human-like being, clothed in white with pale skin but very dark bags under his eyes, stepped out of the spatial crack.
"Albion Black, your time in the living world is up," the white-clothed man with dark bags stated before ordering Albion, "Please come with me to the Underworld."
Nevertheless, Albion gazed at the white-clothed man with dark bags under his eyes patiently without any intention to comply.
"White Impermanence?" Albion uttered.
The white-clothed man nodded, "Yes, it is I, White Impermanence, the white guard of Yanlou Wang, Supreme Judge of the Underworld."
"Now come with me to the Underworld to be judge and pass on to the afterlife. You have lingered in the realm of the living long enough—"
"Long enough, my ass!"
Bam!
Albion snarled before giving the White Impermanence a resounding smack on the head, causing the person to glance back at him with a stunned look.
"You… You can hit me?" the White Impermanence asked with shock.
"Not only can I hit you, but I will also beat you!" Albion stated angrily before he started beating the crap out of the white guard while roaring, "Why the f*ck would I need to go to the afterlife for? I'm not tired of living yet!"
"You—ahh, stop hitting! Don't hit my face! Stop!"
The White Impermanence curled up under Albion's relentless blows before he quickly cried as a last-ditch effort at salvation, "This might come as a shock to you, but you are already dead, struck by a truck! You have been lingering in the world for 25 months since then!"
"Bullsh*t!"
Albion began beating up the White Impermanence even harder, turning the person's face into black and blue.
"First, the frozen layer of the Underworld appeared. Now, even an Underworld Servant has come to swindle people to the afterlife!" Albion snappishly said before stating, "I am very much alive, thank you very much!"
"Wait!" the White Impermanence cried.
Albion temporarily halted his blows before the White Impermanence immediately took the chance to retreat some distance and scurry back on his feet.
"Hmph, such a violent soul!" the White Impermanence snorted after regaining his confidence, brought by the distance he created before he stated, "Since you don't want to come with me obediently, I will have to use force!"
Swish~!
Several Soul Chains immediately flew out from the White Impermanence's long sleeves before they drove right into Albion's body and shackled his very soul, causing Albion to be surprised.
However, it only lasted a brief moment before the 10th Tribulation Lightning obliterated the Soul Chain into nothingness.
"What!"
The White Impermanence's eyes almost popped out of their sockets before his expression quickly turned grave.
"This soul is not only violent but also very strong!" the White Impermanence bit his thumbnail with distress while muttering frustratedly, "Dammit, this task was supposed to be easy, but it's too difficult! I will have to get Black Impermanence's help!"
"You!" White Impermanence quickly pointed his finger at Albion before stating, "I will come back for you! Better watch yourself!"
"What did you say?" Albion spat with a raised brow, causing the White Impermanence to cower.
Hiii—!
After seeing Albion take a single step forward, the White Impermanence immediately dashed into the spatial crack to escape.
A few moments later, the black spatial crack disappeared along with all the Underworld Aura, returning everything to normal again.
However, to the onlookers like Fenriri, it appeared as if Albion had gone crazy and talked to himself while beating empty air the whole time.
"Are you alright, Master?" Fenriri asked cautiously.
"Of course I am! Do you think I've gone crazy?" Albion glanced at Fenriri's expression with a frown before he shook his head, "Never mind. You won't understand. I'll explain later. Let us get out of here first."
"Oh…" Fenriri uttered before following her master obediently.
Shortly after, Albion dragged Fenriri along and left the area, leaving behind the crowd that became attracted to the commotion caused by him.
Nevertheless, Albion thought back on the White Impermanence's words and fell into deep thoughts.
'Struck by a truck and lingered around for 25 months in the world of the living… It seems the Underworld has information about my death, but they don't seem to have any information about the 10th Tribulation Lightning and my current identity…'
Albion mused for a moment before he paused with a sudden thought, 'Could it be that this White Impermanence came from the Underworld of my old world? Either way, the Underworld appears to be aware of my old self.'
As Albion thought this, another thought and possibility came to mind.
'There might be a way to return to the same world from my past life!' Albion's eyes flickered.
If he could at least check on his family and friends back in that world, it would give his heart some closure.
