Chapter 221 - Speculating The Dark Lord's Appearance
The 3-star officer was startled that the thing dangling around the Lord's neck was actually a little person.
However, the shape did not seem to match a normal person.
"Please prepare another outfit and mask that matches her size. She will be following me around," Albion smiled slightly at the 3-star officer's reaction before making his request.
After a moment, the 3-star officer recovered before he complied, "Of course, my Lord. I will need to measure her sizes and inform the tailor."
"Alright."
Albion nodded.
Shortly after, he gave Fenriri a nudge before she woke up drowsily with drool on the corners of her mouth.
"Uuwu…" Fenriri gave a groggy groan before lifting her head and rubbing her eyes while asking, "Are we here, Master?"
"Yes. Now follow this person to get your size measured—"
"Woah! Master, this is amazing!"
Before Albion could finish speaking, Fenriri suddenly exclaimed loudly with excitement as her body floated off Albion's shoulders.
"Master, look! I'm flying!"
Fenriri doggy-paddled in midair without really moving anywhere.
The main body of Damocles was a zero-gravity zone like the rest of space except for selected areas with gravity technology installed and the five revolving rings that produce artificial gravity with centrifugal force.
Albion was amused, thinking how Fenriri's motion sickness will flare up when she enters one of the five rings.
"Seems like you have never been in space before," Albion commented with a slight smile as the subordinates waited before urging her, "Alright, you can have your fun later. Keep still and let this person measure your size."
"Master, how come I am the only floating?" Fenriri asked with surprise.
She tried to keep still but seem to be floating away while everyone else was glued to the ground as if their feet were sticky.
Shortly after, Albion reached out and pulled Fenriri back to the ground before explaining, "I am using my telekinesis ability while they are wearing magnetic boots."
"Oh…" Fenriri uttered.
A few moments after the 3-star officer pulled out a measuring tape and approached Fenriri, she suddenly hissed at him and caused the person to stagger back with surprise.
"Be good. He won't hurt you," Albion instructed.
After some resistance, Fenriri obediently let the officer take her measurements before turning back to Albion.
"Well then, I will take these to the tailor and let them prepare an outfit shortly for…"
"Her name is Fenriri."
"Right, Fenriri." The 3-star officer made a mental note to remember the wolf-girl's name before he hesitantly asked, "She's not human, is she, my Lord?"
Due to Fenriri's black cloak, the 3-star officer could not see clearly.
However, Fenriri's fluffy white wolf ears and tail stuck out like bulges under the cloak, giving her an odd form that differs from humans.
"No, she's not." Albion shook his head and admitted without any intention of hiding her identity, "She's a demihuman with wolf bloodline."
"Remember her, and treat her well. She can be considered to be ranked below Polemos but above everyone else," Albion stated casually.
As for why she had such importance? Well, she is a wolf-girl.
"I see…" the 3-star officer uttered for a moment before he quickly complied, "Understood, my Lord. I will make sure to inform the others."
Approximately fifteen minutes later, the 3-star officer returned with a tailored outfit and mask before passing it to Albion.
"My Lord, the outfit and mask is prepared."
"Good!" Albion accepted the items before ordering, "Take us to a change room, then you will lead us to the welcoming banquet."
"With honor, my Lord."
The 3-star officer eventually led the way before Albion patted Fenriri on the shoulder and said, "Come. After we get changed, I'll take you to eat some nice food. The banquet will surely have lots of goodies for us to try."
"Yes, Master!"
Fenriri's eyes lit up at the mention of food.
…
Damocles, First Ring.
The atmosphere at the venue was festive and filled with chatters as everyone chatted while making subtle inquiries into each other parties' identities without trying to offend them before moving onto their following targets.
Xiao Pipi and Klein Seymour bumped into each other before they simultaneously apologized to the other party.
"I'm very sorry. I was not watching my…"
"I'm so sorry. I did not watch where I was…"
The two men suddenly paused with surprise upon recognizing each other's voices despite their brief interactions.
"Mr. Klein?"
"Mr. Pipi?"
After receiving confirmation from each other, Klein Seymour smiled behind his jester mask before he said, "I didn't expect for us to meet again so soon within this big crowd of a thousand guests."
"What are the chances, right?" Xiao Pipi chuckled softly before jumping straight into a serious topic, "What do you think Emperor Polemos's intentions are behind the event's arrangement, Mr. Klein?"
Oh?" Klein Seymour exclaimed before asking back, "Do you also feel that there is a deeper meaning behind this special event?"
"Perhaps, there will be a dance event later. I cannot help but feel that this masked event is similar to a masquerade ball enjoyed by aristocrats, nobles, and royals on various occasions back in medieval times. One such occasion was to celebrate marriage," Xiao Pipi mentioned thoughtfully.
"Interesting," Klein Seymour was amused before he asked in a joking manner, "Mr. Pipi thinks either Emperor Polemos or the Dark Lord is getting married?"
"Not exactly," Xiao Pipi shook his head.
"I have not heard any news of either of these two giant figures ever having a partner in their life, but perhaps they are finally looking for potential partners through this masked event."
"Looking for a spouse, huh?" Klein Seymour muttered before he paused with a sudden thought, "I wonder if my daughters would be interested if that was the case…"
"Surely not, right? Emperor Polemos is supposedly a few hundred years old while the Dark Lord is… Well, much older."
"Still, I wonder what the Dark Lord looks like. Emperor Polemos looks surprisingly young for a person who is a few hundred years old. As for the Dark Lord, I can only imagine." Klein Seymour said.
