I Aggressively Stack Steel of the Heart in the Knight Order

Chapter 421 374: Intelligence and Battle Plan, Wizard Slayer

  • Next Chapter

Just as Claudius and Enok reached an agreement.

The Avenger Flagship.

The bridge.

Perhaps it was due to a miniscule, almost imperceptible trace of a Wizard Bloodline, or perhaps it was because he had Koller's help, but Technician Priest Pavlo's control over the entire flagship was far superior to that of the previous two Technician Priests.

After a brief lull in the ship's defensive fire, the space ahead of the Avenger Flagship was finally clear of enemy boarding Assault Boats.

In other words, as long as Claudius wasn't pushed to a desperate act—like ordering his fleet to bombard the Avenger Flagship—their route to Cyrenaica would be clear.

"...You can all rest assured about our safety. The entire premise of Claudius's cooperation with the Mechanical Order is that he's helping them seize the Avenger Flagship by force.

He can't possibly turn on the Mechanical Order at a time like this.

What we need to worry about is that with Sipia defeated and Claudius backed into a corner, he'll let Grand Lord Kles's people get involved."

On the upper command deck.

Frost, a member of the Silencers, laid out the intelligence he had gathered in great detail for Reinhardt, Koller, and the others. His report covered the rebel army's basic composition, their strategic objectives, and Claudius's intentions.

After hearing the intelligence summary, Koller's brow furrowed.

"If he really uses this rebellion to force Cicero to personally enter the fray and raise his banner, I fear the situation will become very disadvantageous for us. The moment that Sky Knight declares war, the warlords throughout the Administrative Region will undoubtedly rally to the cause…"

At this, Koller turned to Reinhardt, his expression extremely grave. "Sir, the severity of this situation cannot be overstated. If we can't stop Claudius's plot here, the Grand Governor will inevitably be caught in a pincer attack.

What's more, Grand Lord Kles is involved in this. We must stop this from happening, no matter the cost."

Lu Jia knew the power structure within the Imperial Administrative Region was intricate and complex, but not until she heard Frost's report did she realize just how dire the situation had become.

And the graver the situation seemed, the more she felt her own powerlessness.

Caught in this terrifying political maelstrom, with only the strength of an Official Knight, she knew that without the backing of the Vengeful Angels, the powers that be could crush her at any moment!

At this thought, she glanced down at her right hand and clenched it into a tight fist.

An idea, one separate from her absolute Loyalty, began to take root in her heart.

'Power…'

'One day, I too will stand on the stage of supreme power, by my own strength.'

'Only by truly grasping power, by possessing the strength to contend for it, can I better fight for the Emperor and follow my chosen path!'

Nelom's brow furrowed even more as he listened to the reports. 'How did I not know about any of this?'

Urus, on the other hand, felt thoroughly vindicated for once. It was a stark contrast to every other time the war with the Infiltrators was mentioned, when all he could offer were reports of failure.

Now, even the way he stood before the command table seemed straighter, prouder.

"I agree with Koller's proposal. We must pin the rebel army down in Cyrenaica, at any cost."

Reinhardt considered this for a moment, then his cold gaze fell upon Frost. "Are you saying that after we land in Cyrenaica, Kles's people might try to stop us?

Do you have more detailed intelligence?"

Like Crab, Frost was a Two-star Earth Military Rank, making him a core operative of the Silencers. He also served as one of Urus's Adjutants.

Throughout the strategy meeting, out of professional habit, he had been secretly observing everyone's attitude toward this Great Tutor of Vengeful.

It was plain to see that everyone, including his own Battle Group Commander, Urus, and even Nelom, regarded the Imperial Knight named Reinhardt with considerable awe.

Leaving the others aside, the fact that Lord Urus himself showed such genuine subservience suggested that the power of this supreme leader of the Vengeful Angels was likely far beyond their imagination.

This was especially true after they learned that the incredibly powerful Sipia, the Lord of Ostia, had already been defeated and forced to flee by the time they boarded the ship.

If anyone else had questioned him in such a commanding tone, Frost, as a Child of the Night Demon and an Adjutant of the Silencer Battle Group, would not have offered any response.

Aside from the Grand Governor, their pride would not permit them to easily accept leadership from an outsider.

But Lord Urus's attitude was their attitude.

Facing Reinhardt's question, Frost adopted a sincere tone. "This Wizard lurking by Claudius's side has never once appeared in public.

Furthermore, every scout we sent to gather intelligence was silenced within three days.

The risk of exposure was too high, so after a few attempts, we had to abandon the effort."

Although Frost never mentioned the target's power level directly, his every word hinted to Reinhardt that this dagger, plunged into the heart of the Imperial Administrative Region by Grand Lord Kles, was no ordinary Wandering Mage.

Reinhardt gave Frost a slight nod before addressing the group. "After we land in Cyrenaica, I will personally be responsible for the Giant Beacon and for relaying our message to the Administrative Region.

Urus, the task of seizing the Wizard's Divine Artifact falls to you and your men. If you can't secure it, kill any rebel who tries to get near it. Buy time, at any cost.

Lu Jia, you will stay behind and guard the ship.

Nelom, you're with me.

Is that clear?"

Although Reinhardt's tone was flat and devoid of emotion as he assigned the tasks, everyone around the command table knew this could very well be a one-way mission.

Even Lu Jia, tasked with guarding the ship, faced a risk no smaller than that of the others.

Once they landed in Cyrenaica, the Mechanical Order and the rebels would surely launch a frenzied assault to seize control of the flagship.

Just then, a slight tremor ran through the Avenger Flagship. Everyone turned to look forward. Through the viewport, thin clouds came into view, signaling that they had begun their descent into Cyrenaica!

Having assigned the mission tasks, Reinhardt extended his left hand. The Knight's Broadsword, which had been resting quietly against the railing, shot into his grasp with a WHOOSH.

Wizard Slayer.

This was the name Sipia had given this Furnace Cast Holy Artifact.

After his disgraceful retreat, this powerful Extraordinary Creation—a true Wizard Slayer—had fallen into Reinhardt's hands.

It felt surprisingly light. The blade, pitch-black from hilt to tip, was simple and unadorned.

Just as the system description had indicated, the Extraordinary Creation seemed to possess a consciousness of its own. The moment Reinhardt gripped the hilt, he clearly perceived a powerful emotion: anger.

Koller's brow tightened. Even though the Extraordinary Creation was in Reinhardt's hand, just standing near it made Koller feel an indescribable unease.

His own Spiritual Power grew agitated and restless in the presence of the Wizard Slayer.
