Chapter 1205: Chapter 96: Invading Ferren, Sword Pointed at the God of Gods! (2)

This utterance of ’Your Majesty’ made Duncan sigh softly.

"It’s been a long time since anyone has called me that."

"I haven’t been a ruler for many years."

Duncan gazed at the resolute God of Justice in front of him, looking at Tyr’s empty eye sockets, and said slowly, "Ayo is quite ruthless, to treat you like this."

"Even Odin only sacrificed an eye."

The Saint’s Calamity is truly a mess; those who stole the slabs can revive, Shirek can become a god, yet the one who upheld justice, Tyr, had his eyes gouged out and ultimately faded away.

Ayo, the old dog, has a really black heart.

Faced with Duncan’s disrespect towards the God of Gods, Tyr, the God of Justice, remained silent, only saying slowly, "This is just a small price to pay for upholding justice."

"It would be best not to mention His name lightly, as Your Majesty descends upon this land."

Duncan’s expression was calm, and he said lightly, "It’s okay."

"I am here to act according to the rules of this land, and besides, I am not the only outsider."

No matter how strong Ayo is, can he be stronger than the God of the Monotheism?

Duncan conducts everything according to the rules, without using forces outside the rules. He is treading the normal path, the most difficult path to gradually ascend to godhood.

The laws of this world have already recognized him as an Ascender.

It’s equivalent to getting ’local residency’.

Tyr, the God of Justice, was silent for a moment and said slowly, "Is Your Majesty here to deal with the Dark Sun?"

Duncan slowly shook his head and said, "Not entirely."

"I saw your followers in another realm, the leap of justice."

"Would you be interested in developing faith over there?"

Duncan was referring to the world under the aspect of the War God.

Tyr fell into silence, which was the answer. This guy was quite stubborn, but if he weren’t, he wouldn’t be the God of Justice.

Justice that isn’t absolute is absolutely unjust.

Duncan casually found a place to sit down, looked up at the crippled statue in front of him, and said calmly, "The justice of this land is indeed somewhat pale and powerless."

Two crippled gods uphold the backbone of justice, truly ironic.

Tyr retorted, "Justice may be pale, but it is not weak."

Duncan laughed, his tone slightly mocking, "I used your eyes, the Holy Avenger, Tyr’s Eye, and it’s quite useful."

Tyr’s tone carried a trace of helplessness, and he said softly, "As long as Your Majesty finds it useful."

Duncan said lightly, "I want to ascend to godhood in this land."

"But it is too chaotic."

"I plan to tidy it up."

"You are in charge of the divine position of justice here, right?"

Tyr nodded slowly.

Duncan suddenly asked, "The concept of justice is indeed somewhat hollow."

"What do you think universal justice is?"

Upon hearing this, Tyr frowned tightly, hesitated to speak, then finally sighed lightly, "The morality within people’s hearts."

Duncan shook his head and said calmly, "No."

"I think it should be law."

"Justice is the upper limit of morality, while law is the lower limit of morality."

"Are you interested in taking on more responsibility?"

"How about doubling as ’Law’?"

Tyr was slightly astonished and asked, "Where does the law come from?"

Duncan chuckled and said, "From tyranny."

"Royalty establishes laws; laws are an extension of civilized politics. As long as tyranny is dismantled, laws can return to the right track."

The laws of this land are so pale; tyranny takes the primary blame, but the gods are not without fault.

It’s time to arrange the Judgement Court.

Tyr returned to silence.

"You know how I work."

"Although I dare not say I’m doing extremely well, it’s at least better than this place, which is rotten to the core."

"I heard you used to frequently walk among mortals in your early years."

"You probably know what the ordinary people of this land are like, right?" Duncan smiled casually, but his gaze was icy cold.

There are plenty of Evil Gods, a multitude of marauders, witch demons living in the sewers, and large groups of undead monsters in the wild.

Ordinary people can barely survive unless they cling to the Good God Church.

Tyr remained silent, only gripping his sword tighter.

He is one of the few Divine Spirits who actually do practical work, with both eyes gouged out, and his followers, the Paladins, are among the few who still uphold justice. Some are dead, some are crippled, and eventually, even the Paladins have deviated from lawful good.

Those who do serious work are all finished.

Those still active now are either terrorists or people causing trouble.

There are plenty of Divine Spirits interfering in the mortal world, and with Ayo’s severe punishment on Tyr alone, he is also the only Mighty Divine Power in a century to die out in despair.

"Among the many realms I’ve walked, the Divine Spirits here are the worst, with no limits at all." (Note: Referring to relying on divine punishment by descending disasters to threaten mortals to worship and sacrifice to themselves, which is something the Furious Gods and Dark Gods often do. Even the moral standards of the underworld are higher than theirs.)

"I want to redefine the standards of Divine Spirits."

Duncan’s tone was very calm.

But what he said made Tyr very unsettled. He stared at Duncan before him and murmured, "Does Your Majesty intend to trigger the Twilight of the Gods?"

Duncan chuckled and said, "Unless you want to wage the War of Heaven?"

The War of Heaven.

Monotheism.

In all the calculations of the Law of Cause and Effect by Duncan, the only instance of failure, even with the addition of the Norse Pantheon, Ancient Greek Pantheon, and Celtic Pantheon, it was still a failure.

Yet it also brought the most significant loss to the belief system of Monotheism, or rather there was no winner at all, because God didn’t care.

Tyr stared at Duncan before him, a trace of unease in his hollow eyes.

Duncan’s target was not Spider Queen Rose, nor Dark Sun Shirek, but the God of Gods, Ayo.

If it weren’t for the authority of the dead Ancient God, the divided forces of Ye Ge, Duncan wouldn’t have intervened in the core events after the Saint’s Calamity at all. He had many other ways to become a Divine Spirit.
