Husband you’ve abandoned me. Fine, I’ll focus on raising my son

Chapter 275: Quick Thinking

Chapter 275: Quick Thinking

LOUIS’ POV

I can’t come on Saturday, I have to visit my mother’s grave and place some flowers, and then I have to spend time with my husband.’

I read Jasmine’s message on my phone. My face frowned upon reading the use of ’my husband’.

I had talked with Megan and requested that she meet up with Jasmine on my behalf since Keith was allowing Jasmine to talk to Megan. Perhaps she could meet up with Megan and then give her a message I had for her.

However, it seems Jasmine wasn’t fond of the idea. Or was it that Keith wouldn’t allow her to meet with anyone right now? She hadn’t met with anyone to my knowledge since he took her. My men had been keeping an eye on her after all.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and I looked up from my phone. I was sitting in my office at the Carrington HQ.

“Come in,” I called for the person to enter.

It was my assistant Leigh-Anne who walked through the door.

She came up to my desk, where I was seated, glaring at me. With her hair tied in a tight bum it made her already angry stare look more fierce.

“I came to deliver this, sir. They are from the Chairman,” she announced as she placed the documents on the desk. She didn’t quite smack them on the table, but it felt like she wanted to.

She had been upset all week that I had rejected her. It was extremely awkward between us. Ultimately, I didn’t regret my decision.

“I’ll have a look at them then,’ I simply answered in a neutral tone, appearing unbothered.

“Are you done with the plan for the current project? The Chairman would like to see the work,” she then asked stiffly.

“I’ll have it ready by the end of the day,” I informed her.

She then aggressively turned away from me and left my office. I shook my head at her in disapproval.

My eyes immediately flicked back to my phone. I then read the message once more as I contemplated what to say and what I could do. What was another way?

My eyes sparked up immediately as I reread Jasmine’s message. She was going to the cemetery! Right. This could be a possible opportunity to get through to her!

I recalled the last time Jasmine had gone to visit her mother’s grave when she met with her brother. I could perhaps leave something for her at the grave that she could take.

If she had gone to meet with Megan, I would have asked Megan to slip her a note with a message from me. Since Jasmine would most probably be monitored and wouldn’t directly be able to speak with Megan about the situation, the note would be a good option. However, the cemetery could work just the same, in fact.

I could leave the note by the grave, so when she placed the flowers, she would notice it and take it. There would also be a high chance that Jasmine would be the one to see it. Since it is her mother’s grave, she will be the one to put the flowers in their place at the grave, not her bodyguards or Keith.

I then sent a message to one of my men keeping watch on Jasmine from afar and asked them to visit Jasmine’s mother’s grave and take a picture of it so i could see what to do with my plan.

I put away the chat and got back to working I would deal with the rest when I got home.

******

Later that evening, when I arrived back at my apartment, I quickly got to work on my note for her. After changing out of my suit into comfortable clothing, I sat on my bed.

I then took out my pen and paper and began writing everything I wanted to tell her. I explained the situation that had unfolded during and after her attack so she would know where I was. After that, I began apologizing for failing to protect her from Keith.

For not being there when she needed me during and after her attack. I had failed her, and I hope she will forgive me. However, now I wanted to change that. If I’m able to get through to her, I can help her escape.

I then gave a summary of everything that was happening and what I had discovered about her assailants. I made my handwriting as small as possible so I could fit everything on one page. A single page was the easiest to try to hide compared to multiple pages.

Once I was done, I went over everything I had written, making sure I wrote it all down. I then took my phone and saw I had received a message from one of my men.

The photo I had asked one of my men to send me of the grave came in, and I looked at it. I wanted to see where I could hide my letter. It had to be a spot only she would see, and her bodyguards, who would most probably be with her, wouldn’t see.

There was a vase to the left of the grave, beside it were flowers she had left the time she had gone, and beside them was another ornament. I could leave it by the flowers maybe. So she will see them as she puts the flowers.

No point lying about who she was hen he could easily verify himself. But I was worried he might find suspicion since she worked at a Warrington restaurant he might think she has ties to Louis. I hoped not.

I couldn’t tell much of what he thought from that neither his facial expression say much as well. None-the- less he didn’t seem angry or upset about my conversations
