Chapter 268: Patience is key
KEITH’S POV
Father,” I greeted him upon entering my office after having left Jasmine in the sitting room. He was already seated on the couch and looked as I walked in.
After my last conversation/argument with him at the Acland estate, I was a little nervous about how this conversation would go.
“So you found the culprit?” He asked as I sat down on the seat in my seating area opposite him.
“Yes.”
“He’s been stealing money from the company for almost five years now,” I told him.
“It makes me wonder if he targeted the company from the beginning since he started working at the Acland HQ 8 years ago,” I told my father.
I’m not saying pick one, I’m just saying you need to be prepared.
I stared at my father as he asked me to decide on how I was going to handle the situation.
“Are you staying for dinner?” I asked my father.
“No, I have a date with baby,” he told me, and I knew he was referring to his current young girlfriend.
My father soon left my office after we were done. I continued to contemplate his words.
Jasmine hey,” I said to him so we don’t know who is
I hadn’t slept peacefully for a while now but Jasmine changed that earlier today. She definitely caught me by surprise. A welcome surprise, however.
She gradually softening with each passing day. I also felt the investigation was a big help in making us get closer as well. Our concern for Anthony had working together.
Looks like I was right in the end. Being patient with her as I keep her here would eventually soften her. A wave of relief came over me. Seeing Jasmine yell at me non-stop weighed heavily on me. It was hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel. Patience always wins doesn’t it. If I can just find Anthony now everything will finally come into place and things will return to how they were.
Jasmine and I will be able to sleep together like that for many nights to come…
It also helps that the Carrington has dumped her so her focus is back on me. She still hadn’t communicated with him nor was she showing any signs of her trying to.
Later that evening after Jasmine and I had dinner together.. We then went to my office where I gave her were done discussing for the day I let her go.
“I’m going to the HQ tommorow to finalise some things at the HQ tomorrow with the investigation on Edward something will have to be put on pause
I had orders to carry out concerning the Acland HQ. With Edwards’ discovery A full investigation was being carried out at the HQ. Employees would be questioned. All and any of Edward’s current projects were being examined.
Only certain activities would be continued. Some changes will also need to be made after this whole situation. Edward was my personal assistant such a high role second to mine in the company and he was the
After Jasmine left I returned to my paperwork knowing I certainly wouldn’t be able to sleep. If I was to sleep I wish I could call back Jasmine after her little sleep therapy worked on me earlier.
I pulled out my laptop and once again monitored her activity to see what she was up to. Still no communication with the Carrington. She was making normal internet searches, scrolling on social media. Still nothing out of the out of the ordinary.
I nticed she was in communication with someone called Megan on Stargram. I didn’t know who this Megan person was. She wasn’t any of the friends Jasmine had when we lived together. She must be someone she was friends with after leaving the mansion. My eyes narrowed as I looked at their chats.
Jasmine didn’t have many friends anymore. I suppose that was partly my fault…
She was friends with many of my acquaintances’, business partners’ and friends’ wives. However after I chose Diana over her the accusations that she was crazy followed her around causing everyone to distance themselves from her.
Well now that the truth had come out about Diana’s lies this didn’t have to be an issue for long. I was aware rumours of our reconciliation were spreading amongst the socialites. Soon they would all try to reconcile with her now that everything was cleared up.
As my eyes scanned the laptop, their chats seemed pretty tame. Even the social media profile of this Megan was pretty normal. I did a quick search on her and found out she was a college senior and was a waitress at the Garden House. My eyes narrowed. Is that how Jasmine met her?
I would ask Jasmine about her just to see what she would tell me.
*****************
Unfortunately the was no new information on Anthony’s whereabouts brought to me by my aides or the police. There weren’t any new identities we discovered or other properties that he owned. Edward was still choosing not to speak or confess from jail. He still wanted me to sign away the company.
They also didn’t know where Edwards’ girlfriend, who was currently missing, was. I had a feeling, Diana, Edward’s girlfriend and Anthony were all being kept in the same place.
I felt frustrated by how complicated this was all becoming. Just how smart was Edward to the point he would have my men and I this dumbfounded?
Of course, I would have the difficult task of relaying this to Jasmine once again.
Once I reached home and talked to her, seeing the disappointment and fear in her eyes as I informed her made my heart shatter.
“I don’t know how I am going to deal with this, she told me worriedly and began to move away from me. I know this whole situation was taking a toll on her.
“Can I visit my mother’s grave?” She asked me.
