Chapter 1569 - 1101: God Forsaken
Chapter 1569: Chapter 1101: God Forsaken
After trying out his new skills, Jiang Yuan didn’t show any mercy to the little monster in front of him, quickly dispatching it in a few swift moves.
The dungeon on the Fifth Layer likely connects to the Netherworld. Recalling the ghosts encountered in the Fourth Layer, which claimed to hail from the Eighteen Layers of Hell, he considered that up to the Fifth Layer, all entities suppressed by the World Tree were ghosts from the Netherworld.
Could this be related to Fengdu and the Old Underworld?
Upon checking the details of the mining dungeon related to the World Tree, the completion rate for the exploration of the First Layer was 98%, which indicated there were still some sealed little monsters remaining in remote corners; the Second Layer was 89%; the Third Layer was 72%; the Fourth Layer was 65%; and the Fifth to Seventh Layers remained untouched.
"I should find time for my duplicates to hurry up," Jiang Yuan mused as he eliminated the ghosts gathering at the Fifth Layer entrance and ascended to the Sixth Layer, discovering that, from here onward, it belonged to the Demon Realm, filled with demonic creatures.
The distribution seemed quite balanced.
In the Human Realm, aside from mortals, there are cultivators. The former enters the Netherworld after death, while the latter’s spirit dissipates with death, and rarely needs specific suppression.
In this light, it makes sense: the Netherworld is the place for receiving all wandering souls, whereas the Demon Realm serves as the trash disposal for the Three Realms.
The World Tree wouldn’t face any immediate threats, so he gave Little Elf You Meng five million Spirit Stones, asking her to upgrade the World Tree warehouse to Level 100.
He teleported back to his courtyard, then transferred to Conch Island, looking at the vast areas of the fully upgraded island awaiting development, he let out a "moo" and began working.
First, he copied and pasted two hundred Tenth Level Underwater Spirit Fields, then allocated seeds to each area for sowing, one by one;
The cultivable land was perfectly squared, all developed, with gravel paths laid in to divide each plot. While the island area wasn’t overly large, the underwater farmland below was vast!
With a grunt and effort, he worked tirelessly for half a day, only to find he had covered less than a tenth of the area.
This was the downside of the courtyard upgrading so quickly: the short time frame didn’t allow him to incorporate each task into his daily routine and tackle them in batches, naturally leaving numerous tasks requiring personal attention.
The resulting sense of satisfaction was exceptionally strong, particularly watching the initially chaotic undersea area gradually become clean, tidy, and orderly.
Coral reefs were set up, with more and more fish leisurely swimming around. Sunlight penetrated through the seawater, casting clear blue beams, and the rippling waves projected strange and colorful shadows, enhancing the ocean’s mystery.
[Detected that the Conch Island Barrier is under attack, would you like to handle it?]
While farming, a red alert suddenly popped up from the system. Jiang Yuan was taken aback, who dared to cause trouble on his island?!
He clicked to handle it, and the next second he was automatically teleported to the edge of his sea region.
The Level Ten Barrier was impenetrable even for Yan Xuan, completely preventing any prying from outside. So Jiang Yuan stood face to face with a group of over ten bedraggled sea demon cultivators, unbeknownst to them.
"What the hell, this area was supposed to be the sea above the wilderness, how come a barrier appeared out of nowhere?"
"Damn it, such bad luck! The whole merchant convoy set out, hoping to get some good stuff down there. Who would’ve thought, seeing so many good things without being able to touch them, then getting robbed twice, the convoy scattered. Now back to home turf, we run into this weird situation."
"Those sea demons are simply crazy!"
"It’s said that the newly exposed Undersea World is under the protection of a True God, so our attacks are useless. As for those sea demons, they are unbelievers of the Sea God, abandoned, stripped of everything except their clothes, storage bags, magical artifacts, and treasures. How could they not go mad?"
"Don’t mention it. I had my eyes on a storage bracelet, large and gorgeous, adorned with rare and exotic jewels. Unfortunately, there’s no way to get my hands on it."
"Can you stop blabbering? Hurry up and break this invisible barrier, there’s a pursuing force behind us!"
"If we can’t, we’ll have to find another route; if those desperate sea demons continue their pursuit, we’ll need to conserve some energy to deal with them..."
...
The group of demon cultivators was disheveled, several with faces still bearing wounds, yet none of them had time to tidy up.
From their chaotic chatter, Jiang Yuan vaguely guessed that this was a merchant convoy trying to profit from his sister’s Undersea World. His sister, with increased divine power and ease, left them empty-handed and was even attacked by betraying sea demons.
Unluckily, after surfacing from the undersea, they ended up near his island.
The system unlocked this marine area into protection, and as they stumbled into the barrier, desperate to flee, they tried a few attacks.
Jiang Yuan took a glance at the system assessment; these merchants weren’t inherently bad.
He thought of stepping out to inform them that they could bypass the barrier in any other direction. The ocean is vast, no need for a dead-end rush onto his territory.
"Boom, boom, boom!"
Just before he could reveal himself, muffled explosions were heard in the distant sea, sending seawater splashing sky-high, waves rolling and roaring.
"Oh no! They’ve caught up!" The leader’s face turned pale, pupils constricting, "That’s the mark of the Ruan Family merchant convoy! They’ve been attacked too."
"Run quickly! Why bother about them?"
"This barrier is quite odd, let’s pick any direction to bypass it!"
"No! We must rescue them!" The leader said solemnly, "At sea, one must help others in need, whether they’re mortals or cultivators. This is the iron law of the sea. Those who violate this law find no savior in distress."
Before he could progress, Jiang Yuan just got drawn by the explosion sound, noticing blood-tinted waves, clothing fragments, and even severed limbs amidst the turbulent sea surface.
