Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Meanwhile, on that same second night, while a meeting was taking place between the Hogwarts staff and the Headmaster, with Severus being the center of everyone's attention, Severus himself was focused on his activities inside the Room of Requirement.

In front of him was a collection of Muggle weapons, while he studied their entire structure and also read the weapon manuals he had obtained from the police station.

He had decided something after the first week: to create his own study schedule, different from the classes taught at Hogwarts.

He would come to the Room of Requirement on his own to study subjects that he certainly would not learn from the professors.

Every Monday would be dedicated to the runes of this world and the runes of the other world, applying them together with his own, testing artifacts, and even creating new ones using the unique knowledge of both, since he believed that this world's runic alphabets, despite having several types, such as Egyptian, Greek, and other more archaic ones, had never undergone any evolution into something more modern. Even the runic alphabets were all ancient; no one had managed to develop a new one.

On Tuesday, which was today, he would be studying Muggle mechanics and engineering, both of weapons and of the entire infrastructure they used to create the most diverse objects in the non-magical world.

On Wednesday, he would begin developing something to try to make electricity work in magical areas. It was a fascinating form of energy that, for someone who had never known this type of energy in his other world, seemed like an enormous waste not to function in the wizarding world.

That was why he was trying to develop a way to make it operate normally, testing everything there at Hogwarts. It would, in fact, be the best place to verify whether his ideas actually worked.

At the moment, he was trying to use a magical conductor to prevent the energy from failing. The problem was creating a metal capable of fulfilling that function. While the Muggle system used copper, he was trying to develop another alternative or perhaps place an enchantment on the protective coating of the wires themselves to isolate them from magical interference using runes or an enchantment, but that was difficult to accomplish at the moment.

On Thursday, he would be more focused on Transfiguration and also on counter-curses. He would put all of his knowledge and combat skills into practice while trying to adapt them to the new battle style of that world.

Friday would be entirely reserved for spells, testing his elemental abilities alongside other types of magic, always seeking to develop new spells and deepen his magical understanding.

The weekend, on the other hand, would be more flexible, alternating between all of those studies as he deemed necessary.

It was only an initial schedule, still far from being fully developed, but it was already a good starting point to begin working beyond the classes.

In any case, that was why he was there, observing every aspect of the weapon's mechanics and even trying to replicate it, while watching each part being disassembled and floating through the air by means of telekinesis.

He had watched several videos on television about the war during the holidays to understand the effects of those weapons and had even tested them himself. The gunshots echoed throughout the Room of Requirement. If it had not been for that place, the entire Hogwarts would probably have heard the sound of the shots.

"And this was one of the most basic weapons...", Severus said as he began copying each of the metal components.

He had been a blacksmith in his past life. The greatest of his era, surpassing even dwarves with thousands of years of experience. Because of that, reproducing each metal component exactly was much easier than trying to create the entire weapon all at once. At least for now.

The parts were forged after he transformed the Galleons he had in his pouches into the complete set that would become the weapon after studying each piece individually. They floated through the air as they assumed their proper shapes. Those that still had minor imperfections were adjusted one by one until they fit together perfectly, finally forming a pistol.

After completely understanding its structure, he also knew how to forge it. The engineer within him became more and more active whenever he encountered something that could be improved, especially in the mechanical aspects, as he studied the Muggle books.

He had many ideas for improving these weapons. He could enhance many aspects, alter their designs, and create superior, faster, and safer mechanisms, but this was not the time. Not today.

As soon as he had perfectly reproduced every component and assembled them exactly like the original, he picked up the weapon, felt the weight of the metal, and aimed it at a mannequin enchanted with a shield similar to the Protego spell. It was not as durable as that of an experienced wizard, but it would suffice for the tests.

He pulled the trigger.

Bang!

The gunshot echoed throughout the Room of Requirement as the bullet pierced the shield as though it were glass, shattering it completely. The next instant, the mannequin was left with a massive hole in its head.

"I'm still not used to the weapon's recoil..." he murmured.

He had not hit exactly where he intended. His target had been slightly higher, almost at the center of the forehead. The problem was that he was still not accustomed to the force produced by a firearm, even if it was only a simple pistol.

He placed the weapon on the table, and immediately afterward, it began to come apart once more into several coins.

He then took his prepared potion out of his spatial ring and began drinking its contents. It was a body-strengthening potion, one he had been using several times a day to supplement everything his body needed and beyond, strengthening his cells, bones, tissues, muscles, mind, and immune system.

His gaze returned to the remaining weapons. There were another twelve pistols, four twelve-gauge shotguns, as well as a few other weapons of different models. There had not been many options at the police station he had robbed.

There had been a small article in the newspaper during that week, he remembered, but nothing that attracted any attention in the magical world. After all, even if a wizard happened to read that Muggle report, they would hardly give it a second glance.

'Why would a wizard be interested in stealing Muggle weapons?' Thus, the mysterious disappearance of weapons from one of London's police stations had not drawn the Ministry's attention.

That was exactly the question everyone would ask. And honestly, Severus found it absurd in the magical world.

Wizards were far too ignorant.

In fact, Severus had realized something even more rotten about that world. Wizarding society was completely stagnant. It had stopped in time. If it was incapable of adapting to the Muggle world, it would never truly evolve.

He could already see that for himself, but unlike the others, he did not...

The government, especially the British one, was rotten with corruption, and influential pure-bloods rejected anything of Muggle origin. That also made him think about Voldemort's current war, which continued to grow in power and notoriety while the Ministry of Magic itself tried to hide countless facts simply to mask its own incompetence.

It made Severus look upon that entire society with profound disappointment. It was no wonder people constantly shouted "Mudblood" at every Muggle-born.

'What are Muggle-borns within wizarding society?' They represent only about ten percent of the people who hold positions of power or administrative offices.

They own no shops in Diagon Alley, they control no important sectors, and when they leave Hogwarts, they are doomed to live within a British wizarding world built precisely to prevent them from prospering, while others always remain above them...

And if that is the case, why is a war being waged to try to exterminate the Muggle-borns or enslave them? It should make no sense... That is because Muggles are becoming more and more numerous, while the pure-bloods are in decline.

They are afraid, afraid of being swallowed up.

The real problem certainly was not what the blood purists kept shouting about, that Muggles were stealing magic... It had to do with genetics, something Muggles had been researching for a very long time.

However, because of prejudice, wizards had never shown any interest in learning anything from the non-magical world. The high rate of marriages within pure-blood society had begun producing genetic defects, with distant cousins marrying one another over the centuries.

They are far too proud to think that way, and they will be destroyed...

Severus looked at them as nothing more than a band of ignorant primates. It was no wonder that society was doomed to fall behind and eventually be destroyed.

And this war against the Muggles created by Voldemort would only accelerate that process. The real problem was the war that would inevitably arise once the magical world was exposed.

"From what I know, that's going to happen one way or another..." Severus murmured. He could place the blame on Voldemort, but things were more complex than a simple Dark Lord.

The Muggles were advancing technologically at a speed that not even Memory Modification Charms would be able to keep up with forever.

A war was destined to happen once the two worlds finally collided.

And the more powerful side would be precisely the Muggles. They certainly would not be very happy to discover that there were people capable of altering memories, becoming invisible, controlling other people, and doing countless other things impossible for science. No world leader would want to wake up knowing there were people out there capable of controlling them...

At best, there would only be enormous chaos, followed by a full-scale war, leaving several hundred thousand dead over years of conflict.

At worst... The entire world could be destroyed by atomic bombs.

If everything he had heard about the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union was correct, they already possessed weapons capable of destroying entire countries at that time. And with technology advancing rapidly over the following years, they would certainly create even more powerful weapons, in addition to developing efficient ways of fighting wizards within a few decades once the world became aware of their existence.

One thing Muggles knew how to do very well was adapt...

That was why, if Severus were completely honest... Voldemort might simply be hastening the inevitable.

In any case, he pushed that thought aside. It was a concern for another time.

His eyes returned to the weapons on the table.

He needed to become familiar with more Muggle weapons, understand how they worked, and try to replicate them. They could prove extremely useful. If he managed to reproduce them through Transfiguration, he would have a much larger arsenal at his disposal through his spells.

Transfiguration was a branch even deadlier than Dark Magic, but no one could even understand that... At the moment, he was using Transfiguration only to create swords and hurl them at his enemies.

But... What if he could reproduce more powerful weapons?

What if he could create truly destructive machines?

Severus could not help imagining a coin transforming into a battle tank. Besides creating protection, such as an armored tank in front of him, he could also aim and fire shells directly at his enemies.

Or perhaps... Create an automatic firearm, far faster than any pistol.

He needed access to that technology. But for that, he would have to secretly infiltrate a Muggle military base and start stealing their designs. He knew that, in the wizarding black market, he would hardly be able to obtain anything like that. As ignorant as wizards were, they simply saw no value in Muggle technology.

Perhaps the Muggle black market would be different. There were certainly organizations interested in selling military designs as well as weapons.

"I'll look into that later..." he said to himself. There was also the branch of Living Transfiguration, allowing him to create ordinary and magical animals that could prove useful in battle, but that would be for another time, after researching more weapons...

His gaze returned to the disassembled pistol on the table. Then he lifted one of the coins and tried to transform it directly into a complete pistol instead of creating it piece by piece.

He needed to use far more magic to increase its mass during Transfiguration. It was an extremely difficult trick. Perhaps not even Professor McGonagall could expand the mass of a transfigured object to such an extent. Transforming a torch into a sword, for example, was already a complicated feat.

The result of the first attempt was disappointing. The pieces barely fit together, leaving the weapon completely crooked.

He sighed, transformed everything back into a single coin, and started the process again, reproducing each piece individually before attempting to create the entire weapon all at once.

And so he remained for the next several hours.

He only interrupted his tests when a whistle caught his attention. By that point, he had already managed to complete the weapon's transformation successfully, but he was still conducting tests with the ammunition. He could always create a fully loaded magazine inside the weapon, but he wanted to find a way to make it infinite.

To do that, he would need to apply Transfiguration within Transfiguration itself, something extremely difficult for him at that moment.

When the whistle sounded, Severus turned his head to the side and saw his red phoenix perched on a stand, watching him. Throughout all that time, she had remained by his side, while Heloise was with Articuno.

"Are you hungry?" he asked.

The phoenix answered with a soft chirp. Severus sighed, created a flame before him, and guided it toward her. The bird began devouring it without even needing to leave her perch.

He left the flame there and finally stood up, tired after spending so many hours working on that Muggle pistol.

It was already morning. He had not even slept. Taking a deep breath, he took a potion from his spatial ring and drank it.

It was an Energy Potion that he himself had created over the weekend. In fact, an Energy Potion like the one he had just made did not even exist, after experimenting with several combinations of herbs.

Its contents were capable of replacing an entire night's sleep, completely eliminating fatigue and keeping the mind alert throughout the rest of the day without feeling the effects of sleep deprivation.

It was not something healthy to use every day, replacing natural rest every night. Even so, he could safely use it up to three times a week.

That gave him much more time to work on his own projects.

That night, he had become so absorbed in studying the Muggle weapon manuals that he had started right after dinner and only noticed the passage of time when morning finally arrived.

In any case, he finally put everything away and decided to continue another day. He could configure several different environments within the Room of Requirement, organizing each one for a specific day of study. Since he was the only one using that place, he could simply leave everything exactly as it was and, the next day, he would find it all in the same condition.

Severus organized the materials and looked once more at the clock created by Tempus. It was six fifteen in the morning.

He summoned Solis with a mental command. The phoenix landed on his shoulder before disappearing, satisfied after having been fed. She seemed much more energetic now after consuming all of his flame.

The next instant, Severus also disappeared. He reappeared in one of the castle's corridors and continued walking while casting a cleaning spell on himself. His robes became perfectly clean and neatly pressed.

Not that he needed anything more. He had no odor, even after spending the entire night working.

He possessed an affinity for the elements of fire and ice, using both to keep his body temperature constantly comfortable. In addition, his physical endurance was extremely high.

Severus practically never sweated unless he engaged in truly intense physical exercise, and that was only because his body was not yet fully adapted to more demanding exertion.

In any case, he walked to a door in the dungeons and knocked lightly.

"Come in," Slughorn's voice came from the other side.

Severus entered the office. The professor raised an eyebrow and, the next moment, widened his eyes as he realized who his visitor was.

"Oh, Severus!" he exclaimed.

Severus nodded and stepped inside, having no idea that the previous night he had spent hours as the main topic of discussion between Dumbledore and the four Heads of House.

Horace Slughorn could not help but smile broadly as he watched him approach. Everyone was still quite cautious about Severus's change, but they also could not deny how pleasant the boy had become.

"Tell me, Severus. What can I do for you today?" he asked curiously.

Meanwhile, Severus took two small vials out of his spatial ring and placed them on the desk. Slughorn was surprised by that, still unaware of the existence of the rings, but his attention was now fixed on the vials.

"What are these?" Slughorn asked, observing the sealed containers.

"Open the cap and smell the fragrance, Professor." The liquid was transparent, making it impossible for Slughorn to identify what it was simply by looking at it.

He was not about to sample just any substance handed to him by a student. Many could be dangerous. Even so, he trusted Severus.

He removed the cap from one of the vials and brought it close to his face. A look of surprise appeared immediately.

It was not a potion.

"What a pleasant fragrance... This... this is a perfume?" he asked, looking at Severus with unmistakable admiration.

The scent really was excellent.

"Yes. What you just smelled is a men's perfume. I created it myself over the weekend with the intention of making some money," Severus explained.

With so many skills at his disposal, earning money should not be difficult. Especially since there were countless fields in which he could work.

Even as a half-blood or even a Muggle-born, the field of innovation was always one of the few places where anyone could truly rise, both in the wizarding world and outside of it.

He also needed funds, considering he had almost no money. And what little he did have, he was using for Transfiguration all the time, always preferring to use coins for it because they were more practical...

In any case, he needed help patenting that creation before contacting merchants and trying to negotiate a deal with them. Perhaps the professor could even secure a better agreement than Gringotts, considering the connections he had.

The professor smelled the other vial and could not help but close his eyes for a few moments.

"This fragrance... The girls are going to love it. Especially the ladies. Did you really make this yourself?" he asked, utterly astonished.

"Yes. You won't find this anywhere else." Severus already knew countless formulas and combinations of herbs and flowers for creating perfumes from his past life.

Arctic had always been a center of beauty and luxury in his world... The finest clothes in the world were crafted there, using silk produced by ice spiders. The threads were five times stronger than steel while remaining extremely flexible. The garments created in his former kingdom simply had no equal.

Severus also imagined that, if he could obtain some silk from the Acromantulas of the Forbidden Forest, he could create magical clothing of the highest quality. He might not even need to produce it alone. He could even establish a partnership with some talented seamstress.

Clothing.

Perfumes.

Potions.

Magical artifacts.

Little by little, he would introduce all of that into this world.

The Prince family had certainly already removed both him and his late mother from the family's inheritance. And honestly, he did not care in the slightest about their pride, wealth, or status.

He also had a claim to the Pendragon family.... But it was not as though he would find Excalibur at any moment.

Severus already knew he needed to build his own fortune.

"I was thinking of offering this perfume to a shop in Diagon Alley, but first I need to resolve the patent issue, Professor. At the moment, I am a man without a home, so I need money."

"I understand..." Slughorn murmured.

Dumbledore's words from the previous night immediately came to Slughorn's mind. The Headmaster had mentioned that Severus had simply left his father's house during the holidays to find another place to live, and for that he had taken a dangerous job working with dragons over the summer. Slughorn could understand that Severus's family life was far from pleasant.

"I have a few contacts at the Ministry responsible for patent registrations. I can send them a letter today." The professor paused briefly. "Do you already have someone in mind to sell it to?"

"I was thinking of offering it first to Madame Montclair, from Madame Montclair's Arcane Salon."

He certainly could not produce a large quantity all at once, but every night he would be able to manufacture several bottles. All he had to do was make the plants grow before his eyes in a matter of seconds and then grind them to create the perfect blend for each perfume. And the perfume's greatest secret was the Aurórea Flower itself, the one the sixth-year students had received to care for...

He could produce several dozen a day during his free time, using telekinesis to speed up the process while occupying his mind with other things.

But that alone would not be enough. Perhaps it would be better to sell the formula and receive a percentage from each sale instead.

The finest beauty salon in Diagon Alley would be perfect. After all, Madame Montclair's customers were wealthy people; he himself had spent a good amount of money to have his hair done there. The number of witches who frequented that high-class establishment was enormous.

He could sell that perfume at a high price, which would only be fair. After all, the herbs and flowers used in its production were extremely rare. The difference was that he could cultivate them with ease. A good example was the Aurórea Flower itself, which he had shown Professor Sprout. According to the professor herself, it took a thousand mature Aurórea Flowers to produce just a few milliliters of the liquid, so naturally it would be extremely difficult for anyone else.

If he managed to secure a partnership and a percentage of the sales, he would no longer have to worry about money, and it would go directly into his Gringotts account.

"Very well. Leave that to me. I'll send a letter today requesting authorization to present the patent. I want you to prepare all the documentation regarding the creation of this perfume, and then we'll go to the Ministry in person," Slughorn said, quite excited.

Severus simply nodded. Even though he did not particularly like Slughorn, he still needed the professor. And the Ministry would be a headache, considering they already knew him because of his Animagus transformation.

After that conversation, he returned to the dormitory. As soon as he entered, he found Avery and Mulciber, who immediately fixed their eyes on him as they watched him gather a few things.

"You don't even sleep in your room anymore, Snape? Breaking the rules now, are you?" Mulciber mocked in a provocative tone.

"Mind your own business, Mulciber. It'll be better for all of us if you don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong," Severus said without even looking at the others.

At that moment, the phoenix flew over to Severus and landed on his shoulder. The other boys stared at the bird with expressions of near disbelief.

It was the first time they had seen the red phoenix up close, unlike Articuno, who could turn invisible. And this was the very same bird that had caused all that commotion at Hogwarts yesterday before being driven away by Fawkes.

The boys began whispering among themselves but said nothing more to Severus. Severus gathered everything he needed and disappeared from the dormitory using the phoenix's own Apparition.

The next instant, he appeared in a rather secluded corner of the Black Lake.

He was no longer wearing the Slytherin robes or uniform. He was dressed only in a pair of shorts and running shoes.

He could not simply rely on the Body Strengthening Potion. He also needed to strengthen his own body. So he began running along the lakeshore, using the uneven terrain as his course.

The path was full of obstacles. It certainly was not the best place to run, but it was the only one he had at the moment.

The Room of Requirement could not reproduce an open environment from that dimension. Perhaps he could use the Quidditch pitch. But the grass would also get in the way considerably, and besides, before long the teams would begin their training sessions and tryouts.

He continued running until seven in the morning, when he finally stopped. He opened another vial of potion and began drinking its contents.

Severus walked to a more secluded area and looked toward the castle in the distance. It would not hurt to practice a little there as well.

He pointed his wand at the ground and raised both hands, his palms facing the sky as though he were lifting something from shoulder level to above his head with his arms extended forward.

Almost immediately, roots began sprouting from the earth, forming a trunk. Then branches spread across the top until they reached five meters above the ground, and leaves grew, completing an entire tree in just ten seconds.

"I can create a tree even faster without the wand..." Severus murmured.

He still had difficulty using certain types of magic with that wand. But that did not matter now.

He pointed the wand once more.

"Sectumsempra!"

He cast the cutting spell his former self had created during his fifth year.

The magic struck the tree immediately. Cuts began appearing all over its surface, as though dozens of invisible swords had sliced through the trunk and branches at the same time. Leaves were pierced, branches were severed, and countless marks a few centimeters long appeared in the wood.

He had perfected that spell with ease, something his former self had been unable to accomplish throughout his entire fifth year. All of it in just that single weekend.

But honestly... He did not like the result, or rather, the spell itself. That spell merely created numerous shallow cuts. It was designed more to inflict pain while the target slowly died from being slashed and tortured...

This Severus preferred something more lethal, something more direct. Instead of making an enemy suffer slowly, he preferred to develop a spell capable of killing them instantly.

What he truly wanted was to create a spell that unleashed a single, extremely concentrated and instantaneous slash. So that the moment it struck its target, it would split an entire tree in half along a straight line, sending it crashing to the ground...

Not dozens of tiny cuts.

A single strike.

Severus was about to cast another spell when he stopped. His eyes shifted toward one of the nearby bushes.

"Come out. I know you're spying on me," he said calmly.

Two young men appeared moments later, looking at him with a certain degree of caution. They were two Slytherin students.

Two boys he had already spoken with that year, on the very first night at Hogwarts, when Slughorn had innocently interrupted the conflict that had been about to erupt between him and Rabastan Lestrange.
