Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Severus began walking forward. He had already given his warning.

Those four could feel that the air was different. Even the four of them could sense that something was very different there, and they also felt that Severus was even more different than the air itself.

He was no longer the surly boy who would fall for their provocations, whom they could ambush and attack four against one.

Many at the school might say that Severus was a dark boy, involved with the Dark Arts, and that he was evil, malicious, as many believed. However, that did not justify the fact that those four had turned him into a target all these years. Even now, when Potter targeted him because of Lily's closeness, he still insisted on it even though he and Lily Evans were now complete strangers.

Severus knew he had certain disadvantages that no one else could understand. They always seemed to know when he was alone, ambushing him in witnessless corridors or somehow managing to catch him using some kind of invisibility, probably a cloak, as Severus had already concluded while recalling those memories. In his memories, he was struck by spells without being able to identify where they came from, the laughter echoing through invisible space, with no idea where it came from or where they were hiding...

They were Animagi and were always four against one.

Nothing about that dynamic, which the teachers called a 'house rivalry,' had ever been fair. If there had been any justice in it, then Severus no longer understood what justice even was.

In any case, he kept walking. He could attack them right there and take revenge for a fraction of everything they had done to him over the past few years, but he would not stoop to that. He would not be the one to start the attack. He simply kept moving forward, ignoring them. The best people like them deserved was his contempt, to be treated as though they were nothing... for now.

He could feel Potter's and Black's frustration. They seemed to completely ignore the change in the atmosphere. Peter and Lupin, however, were different. Pettigrew was terrified, while Lupin remained extremely cautious, breathing slowly as he watched the mist leave his mouth.

Even so, Severus continued walking past them as though they were nothing. That lasted until Potter could no longer restrain himself. As Severus was passing by them, he immediately raised his wand.

Severus mocked that mentally. The idiot launched an attack at his back. "Depulso!"

He quickly turned around and, without even needing to draw his own wand, used telekinesis with one hand, seizing Potter's arm and hurling him to the side.

The spell exploded against the ground before Potter even understood what had happened. His arm had simply been forced downward, while the impact unleashed a small shockwave, stunning all four of them since it was a repulsion spell.

That was enough for Severus to appear in front of Potter before he could react.

He did not use magic. He would do this the old-fashioned way. 2

Potter was just leaning backward when he realized it was already too late. The next moment, Severus drove a punch straight into his face. 2

His glasses were crushed into his eye as they shattered, with Severus striking that exact spot, while Potter cried out in pain and fell backward.

"James!" Sirius shouted, immediately raising his wand.

Severus was already within his reach. He simply grabbed Black's hand and threw it aside, while another repulsion spell shot into the ceiling. Then he drove a punch into his stomach, knocking all the air out of him at once and making him drop his wand onto the floor. Sirius let out a choked gasp, but Severus was not finished.

In one swift motion, he grabbed Black's head with both hands and drove a brutal knee into his face, pulling his head directly into his own knee. Severus felt the bones break instantly, while Black was thrown backward, screaming as he felt his nose shatter and, possibly, lose a few teeth from that blow.

Severus turned at the same instant, raising one of his hands in a quick motion.

A magical energy stopped in front of his palm, frozen in midair before him, restrained by his telekinesis. The spell had been cast by Lupin—an Impedimenta. 1

He saw the look of shock on the prefect's face as he realized his magic had been rendered completely motionless, reduced to a mere sphere of energy hovering just inches from Severus. He had never seen anything like it. No one could stop magic that way.

Severus merely glanced at Peter, who was trembling in a corner, and hurled the spell at him, petrifying him instantly. Pettigrew collapsed against the wall, completely paralyzed. 1

At the same time, Severus used telekinesis to slam Lupin against the floor, catching him completely off guard. That gave him more than enough time to appear in front of him and land a vicious punch across his cheek, sending him crashing backward into the wall.

"You bastard!" Potter shouted from the floor.

Still keeping one eye shut, he watched the entire scene from the ground, pressing a hand against his injured eye while trying to reach the wand lying beside him.

With a simple use of telekinesis, Severus made the wand roll away from Potter's hand.

"Now you don't have a wand, do you, Potter?" Severus approached as Potter glared at him in frustration.

"Well... you like being the bully, don't you? You like being the hero, don't you? Then let me be the villain." Severus said that before driving a kick into Potter's stomach. Then he grabbed him by the collar, hauled him off the ground, and slammed another punch into his face.

By then, he was already without his glasses, which had been knocked off at the very beginning of the fight. Severus made sure to leave his other eye blackened as well.

A second punch came.

A third.

A fourth.

"Stop this!" Lupin groaned from the corner, watching Potter being beaten. 2

Black remained sprawled on the floor, one hand clutching his nose and the other pressing against his stomach, groaning in pain. 2

Severus threw about eight punches into Potter, turning his face into a bloody mess before finally letting him go.

"You asked for this." It was the only thing Severus said before advancing toward Peter, the only one who had not yet been beaten.

He got close enough to snap his fingers. The spell cast on Pettigrew vanished with that simple motion, without the use of a wand.

Peter froze, but not because of a spell. This time, it was out of fear.

He had watched his friends get beaten like that, and when he saw Severus walking straight toward him, he immediately fell into despair.

Severus could have sworn that this coward was about to turn into a rat, which would have been very unfortunate for his friends. After all, it would reveal that they were all Animagi.

In any case, Severus wasted no time and drove a punch into Peter's stomach, while he merely curled up and whimpered in pain like the coward he was. Right afterward, he landed another punch squarely on his face, striking him directly in the eye.

"Please..." he barely had time to speak before taking another punch.

And another.

And another.

Severus was beating him as well. Peter screamed and cried, begging Severus to stop, but he did not stop until he was satisfied.

"That's for everything you've done." Severus said it more to himself. He was also doing this for the former Severus, who had always been in such an inferior position against those four Gryffindor idiots.

Then he turned toward Lupin, who also looked thoroughly frightened. Severus grabbed him and hurled him against the wall.

"You coward." It was the only thing he said before driving a punch into his stomach. Lupin choked from the lack of air. Severus did not hold back his strength.

In the corner, Sirius was beginning to get back to his feet, his eyes filled with hatred. Anyone could tell there was even killing intent in them.

Severus landed another punch on Lupin, breaking his nose.

The moment Black managed to reach his wand, Severus simply lifted Lupin's body with an ease that a sixteen-year-old student should never have possessed and hurled him at Sirius by surprise.

Black did not even have time to react when he saw his friend flying toward him, and the two crashed hard onto the floor, slamming their heads violently.

That was enough to knock them both unconscious.

Severus merely made sure that none of them would die in that corridor and then continued on his way, as though none of it mattered to him anymore.

That lasted until he stopped. He noticed Regulus Black, who had just appeared in the corridor, standing where Severus had come from. He had arrived at the end.

Severus paused for a moment and turned his eyes toward him. Regulus stared at his older brother and the other three boys lying on the floor, surrounded by blood splattered everywhere. One glance was enough to realize that a brutal battle had taken place there.

The most astonishing part was that the only thing Severus had used to injure them had been his own fists.

Regulus swallowed hard, and Severus looked at him.

"I hope you're not too upset that I beat up your brother." It was the only thing he said before turning around and walking straight toward the entrance to Slytherin, no longer caring about those four fools, not even Regulus Black.

Regulus was a newly appointed fifth-year prefect. He would most likely have to call someone to take them to the hospital wing.

Severus entered the common room alongside a few third-year students, who looked at him with a certain amount of caution. Not that they knew what he had done, but they had certainly noticed his hands and clothes covered in blood.

Severus himself noticed it as well. He let out a quiet snort, took out his wand, pointed it at his hands, and used a simple cleaning spell, removing all the blood that had spread over them.

Severus knew it would be a waste of time to go to his room, since he would soon be summoned to the Headmaster's office. He decided to see how things were in the Slytherin common room instead.

Since he had left before most of the Great Hall, he managed to get a good seat near the fireplace. He did not like the chair very much, so he tossed a coin and used his Transfiguration to create a much more comfortable armchair. He sat down and opened one of his books, not caring about reading Muggle knowledge in the middle of the pure-blood house.

He picked up a new book about laboratories and chemistry. That subject had caught his interest. He understood how Muggle laboratories worked a little better after what he had seen at the University of Oxford when he had visited Professor Xavier. 1

Speaking of that, he would also have to write to him. He would do that when he wrote to Scamander and Ollivander, just as he had planned before the Marauders ruined all of his plans.

The Slytherin students began entering one after another, returning from dinner. Many eyes fell on him, but no one approached.

That lasted until someone appeared. Severus raised his eyes to the girl with black hair and green eyes.

It was Victoria Greengrass. His classmate from the same year.

She had tried to overhear his conversation with Professor Sprout after Herbology class, when the professor had called him over to talk. She must have been interested in something ever since she had seen what he did with the Aurelia Flower and the mandrake.

If Severus remembered correctly, the Greengrasses were an important family in the magical plant and flower supply business. They owned vast farms, and the family was extremely wealthy because of it.

"Excuse me," the girl asked.

There was not the slightest hint of shyness in her voice. Searching through his memories, Severus also remembered that she was an only child and the family's sole heir. She had been trained accordingly.

He shifted his attention away from the book and looked at her. "Yes?" he asked calmly.

"I wanted to know if you could teach me that growth magic."

Severus was not surprised. It was obvious that she would be interested in it.

"I'm sorry. That's not something that can be taught. Something inside me awakened... something ancient. It isn't something that can simply be shared like that." Severus explained.

"Even if I paid? I'm sure my father could give you a lot of money if you at least tried," she said stubbornly.

Severus merely smiled. Even if he wanted to, it could not be taught. At least, not that way.

He could develop specific spells for that field, allowing other people to use some of his techniques, but with far less potential than what he had just demonstrated.

However, he did not have time for that kind of project. Not now.

And although he still did not have much money, he had already found a way to supply plants that would earn him a good profit through Professor Sprout.

He could try to sell them himself, but with the professor acting as an intermediary, everything would be much safer, even if he earned less. So that would no longer be a problem in the coming weeks.

She still looked at him stubbornly, while he merely shook his head. "Maybe, in the future, I'll do something. But I don't have time for that right now." Severus was not lying either.

Although she seemed satisfied with the answer, there was still obvious interest in her eyes, just as there was in many students at that moment.

"They're saying you're really a druid. They say it's an ancient form of magic, connected to plant life and animals." She asked while her eyes drifted to the large book filled with pictures and illustrations of Muggle technology.

The quality of the cameras from that decade made it possible to capture various pieces of equipment in considerable detail, including several metal cylinders.

The question lingered in the air as she waited for his answer.

"That's part of it... and a little more. I don't know exactly how it works, but here we are." Severus replied.

She nodded. "What's that?" she asked again.

Severus raised an eyebrow at the attention the girl was giving him. She had never done that before. In fact, neither Amelia nor this Greengrass had ever paid him that much attention. None of the girls at the school had ever looked at him the way they had been looking at him today, as though they were waiting for him to invite them to Hogsmeade.

"I'm studying Muggle laboratories to try to improve the effectiveness of Potions in the wizarding world." He replied calmly.

Victoria raised an eyebrow and made a slight face. That was definitely not the answer she had been expecting.

Severus, however, soon shifted his attention behind her as he saw Heloise approaching with her bag and a book hugged against her chest.

Without saying a word, he created another armchair with a simple Transfiguration after tossing a coin, ignoring Greengrass for the moment.

Heloise smiled, clearly in a better mood, and sat down in the armchair. She even rocked it gently, playing around a little while enjoying how comfortable it was.

Severus also noticed the arrival of the sixth- and seventh-year students. Every one of them immediately turned their attention toward him and walked over to the fireplace, sitting down on the opposite side of the room.

Severus ignored them.

He found Lestrange staring at him the entire time, probably trying to understand exactly what had happened to Severus and, above all, how he should deal with him from that point onward. The reports of everything he had been doing in every class, leaving all the professors speechless, had made him completely cautious, even more so after what Severus had done yesterday during his speech.

There was caution in their eyes now.

And Severus was certain she would write to his older brother and to Lucius Malfoy that very night, reporting everything that was happening at Hogwarts instead of trying to deal with him immediately.

That made him think of Lucius. He still owed Malfoy a certain debt, and he certainly did not want to remain under his wing.

He needed to repay it somehow. Even though he did not like him and did not consider him good company, since Lucius was loyal to the Dark Lord. Even so, Severus did not want to remain indebted to him.

Although, thinking about it carefully, Lucius had never really helped him that much. He remembered that over the years, he could not have received more than forty Galleons from him.

The Greengrass girl, Victoria, sat down beside Severus in those Slytherin armchairs, completely ignoring the comments directed at her for being so close to him.

At the same time, on the other side of the room, the arrogant pure-bloods had gathered together, while the rest of Slytherin watched the two groups with a certain degree of caution.

Severus was with a child and a girl, while around twenty students were gathered on the other side.

Slytherin still seemed deeply divided, even though the numbers on both sides were so disproportionate. Some were practically forced to follow Lestrange and the others. Others preferred to remain neutral.

None of them, despite being quite surprised by Severus's courage in acting alone like that and surprised that the Greengrass girl had approached him there, seemed very willing to support him openly, since they did not think very highly of Lestrange.

In any case, Severus was soon interrupted by Professor Slughorn, who approached with a worried expression alongside Regulus Black.

Judging by the looks around them, it was merely curiosity. No one yet knew that he had beaten the Marauders in the dungeons.

"Mr. Snape, my boy..." Slughorn began as he approached. "The Headmaster requests your presence in the hospital wing." 1

Everyone around them looked at Severus in surprise upon hearing that. Heloise was the one who showed the most concern.

Severus merely gave her a small smile. "Go to bed." It was obvious she would not be comfortable staying there, surrounded by all those older students.

She nodded, but she continued looking at him with concern.

'Well... looks like that beating was well deserved.' Articuno commented, already knowing very well what had happened.

The bird remained perched on Heloise's shoulder as she returned to the dormitory. Severus stood up, stretching beneath the professor's cautious and worried gaze.

Then he smiled faintly and transformed the two armchairs he had created back into coins, which flew into his hand before he put them away.

"Well... let's see how those four idiots are doing." Severus made no effort whatsoever to hide it, making the professor even more cautious and the students even more confused.

"I'm afraid there's no justification for violence," Slughorn said.

Severus merely raised an eyebrow at that. "Professor, explain to me what four Gryffindor students were doing in an isolated corridor in the dungeons when they were supposed to be in Gryffindor Tower." He paused briefly before continuing.

"There's no excuse for that, Professor. They tried to corner me, and I simply acted as I should have." He said it without the slightest hesitation.

Slughorn began to reflect on the boy's words. It was obvious that it had been an ambush.

No matter how much those four tried to lie. Why would four Gryffindor students be in an isolated dungeon corridor fighting Severus?

It was not as though Severus had forced them to go there.

"Very well... we'll sort this out in the hospital wing." The professor said as he continued down the corridor ahead.

Severus simply walked beside him, and Black followed them in silence.
