"Can we start now?" Tonks asked.

Kasenhis shook his head. "Sirius fires the opening shot. Stick to the script."

Sirius, hiding in another part of the forest, didn't hesitate either. He pulled out his wand and fired a dark green Blasting Curse directly at Ron's feet. It looked almost identical to the Killing Curse.

"Won't this scare those two kids?" Tonks asked curiously.

"Clearly, it won't." Kasenhis pulled a steak from his robes and started munching on it.

For the moment, Ron and Hermione's attacks still seemed limited to basic spells like Confringo and other ordinary offensive magic. Sirius alone could handle them without much trouble.

But that changed in an instant.

One second, Ron had been casting Confringo. The next, he turned his wand sideways and casually slashed it through the air in front of him.

Almost immediately, Sirius felt the same kind of fear he had experienced back in his school days.

That was Sectumsempra!

Sirius instantly Disapparated to another position.

The place where he had been standing was now a completely bare stretch of forest. The severed logs were so smooth that you could sit on them bare-bottomed without getting a splinter.

Lupin, who had also been crouching on a tree branch, was dumbfounded.

"How did he learn Sectumsempra? Where did he learn it?"

Kasenhis looked surprised. "What's Sectumsempra?"

"A spell Snape created when he was a student. It cuts things," Lupin explained as he pulled off his invisibility cloak and prepared to jump down to help Sirius.

Hermione, standing on the ground, seemed to have activated some kind of auto-aim. She instantly locked onto Lupin's position, pointed her wand at him, and under the clear daylight, a bolt of lightning as thick as a bowl shot straight toward him.

"Holy crap! Why is it that powerful?"

Kasenhis barely managed to activate the Fluxwatch in time. After casting a defensive spell on Lupin, he allowed time to flow normally again.

Hermione saw that the black-robed man in front of her had taken a direct lightning strike without suffering so much as a scratch, and she more or less understood what had happened.

Professor Kasenhis must have intervened just now.

But if Professor Kasenhis was there as a safety net, then she had even less to worry about.

Harry's Potions book from the Half-Blood Prince happened to contain quite a few offensive spells. She had never had anywhere to use them at Hogwarts, but today, against these "Death Eaters," she had finally come to the right place!

"Wow! Lightning that huge? Even getting struck dead by that would be worth the price of admission!" Tonks said excitedly as she watched Lupin, still alive and kicking, trading spells back and forth with Hermione.

"If Lupin finds out you don't feel sorry for him at all, he might be rather hurt," Kasenhis said faintly.

"It's fine. He knows I say one thing and mean another."

Tonks cast a Shield Charm on herself, removed her invisibility cloak as well, and joined the battle.

Kasenhis watched the fight below and scratched the back of his head in confusion.

According to Dumbledore's script, at this point the three "Death Eaters" were supposed to force Ron and Hermione into a desperate situation while still leaving them a slim chance of survival, making them struggle to stay alive in the forest.

But the situation now...

Ron and Hermione were fighting Lupin, Sirius, and Tonks two against three, and they were actually holding their own. In fact, they even seemed to have the upper hand.

No matter how Kasenhis looked at it, something felt wrong.

Granted, part of the reason was that Sirius and the other two weren't fighting at full strength.

But even so, being able to fight two against three and still come out ahead meant Ron and Hermione really had something going for them.

Were these two secretly grinding like mad behind everyone's backs?

No wonder they hadn't been running to his office nearly as often as they used to over the past half year.

Kasenhis thought about it as he continued watching.

Meanwhile...

"Is the Mandelka Master mentioned somewhere in this forest?" A Death Eater dressed in black robes, looking exactly like a Death Eater at first glance, asked his companion.

"Yeah. No idea what Master wants it for, though. Supposedly it's something that can be used in a resurrection ritual. But now that I think about it, that makes even less sense. Master isn't dead."

"Forget it. There are plenty of strange things about Master. Like how Crouch has been staying in Master's room this whole time without coming out. You think... I mean, obviously I'm not having any dirty thoughts, but you know how things are here in Britain, right?"

"You mean that kind of thing... Hey, now that you mention it... you really might be onto something!" The other Death Eater instantly put on a ridiculous expression and laughed.

"Right? That reminds me. Once this mission is over, I should make a trip to Knockturn Alley and pay Miss Kelly a visit."

Boom!

While the two of them were idly chatting during their mission, a bolt of lightning suddenly struck down in broad daylight in the distance, startling them both.

"What's going on? There's a really strong magical disturbance up ahead... Is someone duelling?" one of the Death Eaters asked curiously.

"Why not go take a look?" the other replied naturally before walking toward the source of the magical fluctuations.

At the same time, Kasenhis, who was hiding on a tree branch and eating steak, looked at the two black-robed Death Eaters sprinting toward them from the distance.

"Hm? Dumbledore noticed we were short on manpower here and sent reinforcements?" Kasenhis raised an eyebrow.

No wonder Dumbledore was the chief warlock. His arrangements really were airtight.

The two Death Eaters, however, saw something completely different.

They looked at the three people who seemed to be their colleagues fighting two young wizards who obviously hadn't even graduated yet, their faces still carrying that unmistakable clear-eyed stupidity of students, and somehow the three adults were even starting to lose.

Both Death Eaters wore expressions that said they could barely stand to watch.

"Just how useless are those three? No wonder they're covering their faces. If I fought that badly, I'd be too embarrassed to show mine too," one of the Death Eaters said with a curl of his lip.

"Should we help?" the other asked.

"Come on, we're all brothers here. All brothers."

With that, he pulled out his wand and charged straight into the fight.

Sirius and the others noticed the two Death Eaters as well.

But just like Kasenhis, they assumed these were extras Dumbledore had arranged.

Besides, the first one charging in had a thick Freljord accent and kept shouting things like, "We're all brothers, we're all brothers!"

A guy like that was really hard to mistake for an enemy.

Dumbledore's extras...

Confirmed!
