Chapter 153: Chap.150 - Home
In the afternoon, Rigel arrived quickly, and cleaned himself up before heading to Hogsmeade.
The fact that Wood had run towards him excitedly pleased him, George had really done a good thing, although he still had to pass the test because there were still Chasers occupying that position, he didn't mind much.
In truth, Wood wanted Rigel to take the Seeker position, but Rigel still wanted Harry to play, after all, if he didn't, several key events would be missed.
In most of the years Harry played Quidditch, something bad happened. In his first year, Quirrell jinxed his broom, in his second, Dobby tried to 'kill' him with a Bludger, and in his third, Harry was attacked by Dementors.
Although Rigel felt a bit sorry for the boy, he didn't want to miss out on potential rewards, so he could only offer a silent apology.
This time, Harry likely wouldn't be spotted by McGonagall, after all, since Neville was friends with Rigel, Draco probably wouldn't mess with him, he still needed to get a broom, so Rigel pointed Wood directly toward Harry.
He suggested that Wood could try Harry out, mentioning that his father had been a Seeker.
Although Wood didn't take it too seriously, he still promised to call Harry for the test.
The truth is that Quidditch is a game that mixes skill and courage, and although his skill was only average, he had the advantage of taking risks without worrying about failing. Combined with his physical attributes, such as balance and reaction time, he was comparable to professional players.
Maybe not the best, but still good enough to make the school's Quidditch team.
His position was practically guaranteed.
Putting that aside, he said goodbye to his colleagues, although he could leave, they couldn't. The twins, however, followed him after learning he was leaving, surprised that he lived in Hogsmeade.
He only needed to stop by McGonagall's office first to hand in the permission, the woman, though a little surprised, didn't think much of it and told him to be careful outside. Furthermore, she reminded him that although his home was in Hogsmeade, he still needed to be back at school before curfew, although it would be preferable for him to return earlier or he could, rightfully, be detained if caught wandering around the castle after hours.
That would have made Filch's day a little less bad.
The twins were curious about Rigel's house, so instead of going to Honeydukes or Three Broomsticks as usual, they followed Rigel to his house, well, it was Calypso's house, but it was the same thing.
As soon as they saw the storefront, they were a little surprised.
"Your family owns a potion shop?" Fred asked, surprised.
Rigel shrugged, without explaining much, and simply went straight in, the bell above the door ringing.
The interior of the shop was quite different now, the once empty shelves were much fuller, and there were two people inside choosing potions. Not far away, a broom was sweeping the floor slowly, clearly the work of Kreacher, the elf himself dusting the shelves.
As soon as he saw Rigel, the elf became clearly excited, quickly approaching. "Master, the lady is already waiting for you."
Rigel nodded, the twins looked at Kreacher very curiously, they knew how to enter the kitchen, so they had seen many house-elves, although Kreacher was the oldest and most wrinkled they had ever seen, the twins still had enough manners not to point that out to Kreacher's face.
Kreacher also focused on the twins, narrowing his eyes at them.
Rigel noticed and spoke up. "These are Fred and George Weasley, my friends from Hogwarts."
Kreacher mumbled something under his breath, but still politely invited them in.
Kreacher had already been influenced by Walburga to the point of treating the Weasleys as blood traitors.
The twins felt the urge to play a prank on Kreacher as soon as they saw this, their eyes even met for a moment, but they quickly gave up. Kreacher was Rigel's house-elf, and they liked Rigel, so they would put up with this grumpy elf.
Kreacher didn't know he had escaped an unhappy fate.
Instead, he spoke. "The lady is waiting in the garden."
Rigel nodded and went to the back of the house, the twins quickly following him, growing increasingly curious about Rigel and who this 'lady' was.
Rigel never intended to hide his relationship with Calypso, so he wasn't worried at all, thus, he took them directly with him.
As soon as he stepped out into the garden, he saw that it had been greatly expanded, the greenhouse was in the distance, while a gazebo had appeared in a corner of the garden, flowers of various kinds adorning the place. Rigel noticed the scent of sea breeze they emitted, it was probably a magical flower.
Rigel glanced briefly, they were green with red pollen, truly beautiful. He looked away, gazing at Calypso, seated comfortably. She smiled as soon as she saw him, though her smile hardened slightly upon seeing the two redheads following Rigel.
The pair were also surprised to see Calypso, they had expected 'lady' to be Rigel's mother, perhaps his grandmother, never a woman so young and beautiful. The twins' hearts began to beat a little faster, and they even became much quieter than usual.
It only took Calypso a moment to adjust, although the twins' presence was initially an 'annoyance', she soon realized something, these boys study with Rigel, so they could spread the word to the other students that Rigel is 'taken'!
In other words, she needed to make their relationship clear and get those boys to spread the word as much as possible, so she could completely drive those little harlots away.
Rigel could only say that Calypso was overthinking things, none of the girls seemed interested in him, not that he'd noticed.
[A/N: They are there, but he completely ignores them and ends up not noticing anything.]
Calypso, on the other hand, sometimes appeared at school in animal form, so she had already seen how those girls looked at Rigel.
Unforgivable!
Then, Calypso's smile opened completely, like a flower blooming, leaving the twins stunned for a moment, they froze.
"Darling, I missed you." Calypso said in a particularly sweet voice, looking at Rigel with love.
Rigel froze, stunned.
Where am I? Who am I? What is happening?
Although Calyso was indeed affectionate, that way of speaking, along with that expression and intonation...
Rigel felt chills run through his body, he almost assumed a fighting stance, sensing that Calypso, in this form, was ready to devour him.
The twins behind Rigel suffered a critical blow, the first love of a boy, or in this case two boys, was directly shattered.
They looked at Calypso in astonishment, then at Rigel, then back at Calypso, and the movement continued.
Feeling the persistent gaze behind him, Rigel noticed the twins' strange look, then Calypso's 'affectionate' smile, and he understood what was happening.
Rigel still had an accepted EQ, the main reason he didn't notice things was that he ignored others, but when he paid attention, he could understand what was happening.
His lips trembled.
"Seriously?" He sighed and asked, his face exasperated.
Calypso merely winked at him, stopping the act, she waved her wand, and a teapot began pouring hot water into the four of their cups.
Rigel shook his head and sat down. He wanted to sit in the chair furthest from her, but the moment he sat down, the chair moved him through the air until he was right next to her, extremely close.
The twins exchanged glances, noticing Rigel's resigned look, and felt the situation was somewhat amusing.
They approached and sat down. "Hello, lady...?" George said.
"Calypso, Calypso Valliere, Rigel's fiancée." She spoke in a soft voice, her smiling expression unchanged, she had clearly been expecting that very question.
Rigel felt the twins' gaze, he looked at them and just shrugged, expressionless. He already understood what Calypso wanted to do, anyway... let her be happy, he didn't care.
"What would you like to drink?" Calypso asked, tapping her own cup with her wand, its hot water turning a brownish liquid, the scent of herbs emanating from within. She did the same with Rigel's cup, but the liquid in his cup turned black, the scent of coffee with a hint of caramel escaping from the cup.
Rigel raised an eyebrow, that was a cool spell, he should learn it later.
The twins looked at each other before smiling and saying. "Butterbeer."
Calypso simply chuckled softly, tapping their cups. The cups transformed directly into mugs, and the liquid turned a caramel golden color with foam forming on top.
The twins were amazed, their eyes shining, they wanted to learn this!
They picked up their cups and drank, their eyes shining, this was perfect! Exactly the same.
Not only that, but the moment they drank, what they had drunk was refilled, making the twins even more excited. Rigel looked at it and thought it looked familiar.
"So, who are you? Friends of Rigel?" Calypso asked as the boys tried, in vain, to drink all the liquid to see if the effect was permanent.
"I'm George Weasley, Lady Valliere." George smiled and introduced himself, a white foam mustache covering his face.
"I'm Fred, also a Weasley." Fred, sporting a white mustache like George's, introduced himself shortly after.
"Yes, we're friends with Rigel." They both said at the same time.
Calypso chuckled lightly, finding the twins amusing. "You can call me Calypso, it's good to see that Rigel has such good friends. I hope you'll look after him for me at Hogwarts."
The twins gave Rigel amused smiles and waved to Calypso, promising to take good care of him.
Rigel simply drank his coffee calmly, or at least he tried to, when, just as Calypso was about to say something, a figure jumped directly onto Rigel's head.
Confused, Rigel almost used a lot of force to push it away from him, but luckily he realized it was Jack.
"Master! I know I was wrong! Please, take me back...!" Jack cried, sobbing constantly and promising a thousand and one things.
Calypso, the only one who understood him besides Rigel, was already laughing, the twins didn't need to understand to find the situation funny, they were laughing along with her.
Rigel's lips trembled as he sighed, carefully removing the monkey from his head and placing it on the ground.
Rigel wanted to say no, but seeing the monkey's teary eyes, he sighed. "Alright, alright, don't look at me like that, but if you start messing around again, I'll leave you with Kreacher for a week."
Jack gave an excited shout, jumping around, and soon noticed the twins, becoming excited and going to play with them.
The monkey carried the twins away, Rigel watched the trio having fun and found it amusing, he finally turned his gaze to Calypso, who winked at him with a cheeky smile.
He simply shook his head and drank his coffee.
That woman was really difficult to deal with.
[A/N: A slice-of-life chapter, which is why I made it longer.]
