Chapter 311: Chapter 173: Arrest! ‘The Creator’s Game!

They took him somewhere.

Afterward, he was blinded. Of his three monkeys, only one survived. And it was there…

Besides performing with monkeys, Zhou Hou also handled something else.

It was… the most terrifying thing he had ever encountered in his life.

…

In a daze, Zhou Hou’s eyes shot open, and he jolted awake from his dream.

His vision was still a vast expanse of white.

He rubbed the corners of his eyes, a derisive smile tugging at his lips.

Ever since he’d gone blind, he could no longer tell the difference between dream and reality.

Sometimes, he would be sitting there and fall into a deep sleep without even realizing it.

Only the images in his dreams would startle him awake.

He never tried to recall those scenes when he was awake; they only came to him in dreams.

“TAP… TAP… TAP…”

The sound of steady, unhurried footsteps rang out.

The sound drew closer, and Zhou Hou froze.

He didn’t move, remaining seated on the steps.

A moment later…

The footsteps drew nearer until Zhou Hou finally spoke.

“Who are you?”

In that instant…

“TAP…”

The footsteps stopped.

After a long moment, a voice spoke up.

“Heh. I’m starting to wonder if you’re really blind at all.”

…

Staring at Zhou Hou, whose eyes were lifeless and utterly unfocused, a flicker of curiosity crossed Xu Huo’s face before vanishing.

“If you’re willing to gouge out your own eyes, then maybe you’ll understand whether I’m truly blind or just faking it.”

Zhou Hou said, his face expressionless.

Xu Huo ignored the remark.

He looked around.

All around them was the open sea. There was nothing to see but the vast ocean, an expanse of blue in every direction.

Now, however, other boats had appeared.

Police boats!

The boats flanked the fishing vessel.

Countless police officers were swarming onto the fishing boat via makeshift gangplanks. Their movements were light, but their speed was astonishingly fast.

“You’re going to the Celestial Kingdom?”

Xu Huo suddenly asked.

The people in the control room were already subdued. It had taken almost no effort.

These men were all blind. As long as the police made no noise, they could get right up in their faces without being noticed. It was from the captain, Liu Wenbing, that he’d heard the name: “Celestial Kingdom.”

“You know where the Celestial Kingdom is!?”

Zhou Hou shot back.

“I don’t. You don’t either. So how are you going to find it?”

“You don’t have a route, you don’t have a destination, you don’t even know what country the Celestial Kingdom is in.”

“Without Liu Wenbing and his men, you can’t even handle the basics of operating this fishing boat. You’ll just get lost at sea.”

Xu Huo’s voice rang out again.

His voice was devoid of any emotion, steady and unhurried, as if he were merely stating facts.

“As long as I keep going, I’ll find it eventually!”

Zhou Hou suddenly turned toward Xu Huo, his hollow eyes staring as he spoke in an ice-cold tone.

It was as if he saw nothing, and yet, also as if he saw something.

“You’ll never find it.”

Xu Huo shook his head.

“I will!”

Zhou Hou’s expression grew savage.

“I’m a police officer. What if I find it for you?”

Xu Huo offered.

“Get out!”

“All of you, get the hell out!”

In a daze, Zhou Hou fumbled for a rock beside him and hurled it at Xu Huo.

The next second.

Xu Huo froze for a split second, ignoring the incoming rock.

He leaned to his left.

A black shadow shot out from behind him, dropping through the very space his head had occupied a moment before and landing on the deck.

It was…

A monkey.

A monkey dressed in human clothes. It had brownish-red eyes and bared its fangs, staring savagely at Xu Huo.

“SCREECH!!!”

It tried to leap and pounce at Xu Huo’s face again.

But he dodged it again.

And the monkey…

Then, it reached a hand into a box hanging from Zhou Hou’s body.

But to its dismay, its hand came out empty.

“Tsk. A gun. I’m surprised you were able to find a way to buy one.”

Xu Huo clicked his tongue, looking at the crudely made, black-gleaming handgun now in his possession.

The monkey froze in shock, but before it could make its next move, a hand snatched it up.

“So this is the monkey that administered the knockout drug?”

Zhang Liang’s voice rang out. Wearing gloves, he held the monkey up and examined it dubiously.

He unbuttoned its little clothes.

The next second.

A pair of dynamite sticks, complete with a fuse, were wrapped around the monkey’s waist.

Zhang Liang: ???

Zhang Liang’s eye twitched. He hurriedly removed the explosives.

Xu Huo was just about to say something.

But the next second…

“SPLASH!”

A loud splash echoed. Xu Huo froze, then whipped around to find that Zhou Hou was gone.

He rushed to the side of the boat. He could see Zhou Hou swimming across the surface of the vast, endless sea.

“Tsk. He’s in a real hurry to get his revenge.”

Xu Huo sighed, clicking his tongue.

“What’s the point? If he’d just let the Special Fifth Bureau handle the case, it would only be a matter of time before he got a satisfactory answer.”

Zhang Liang said grimly.

Xu Huo glanced at him. “Because you’re not the victim.”

“Fair enough.” Zhang Liang nodded, saying no more.

The two of them turned away.

By now, they had regained control of the Golden Scale.

The men in the control room had been subdued, and the entire operation had been bloodless.

Zhou Hou’s hearing was sharp, but the others’ was not. The police simply snuck up on them and slapped them in cuffs.

They didn’t head back to port just yet.

Xu Huo, Zhang Liang, Li Jianye, and the others boarded a speedboat.

The speedboat’s engine roared to life. In an instant, they caught up to the swimming Zhou Hou, maintaining a safe distance.

“He’s a really fast swimmer.”

Li Jianye remarked with some admiration, “If he were a normal person, he could probably be a professional athlete.”

Zhang Liang ignored the comment. He was still holding the gun Xu Huo had taken from the monkey. He studied it for a long moment before shaking his head.

“I can’t identify the base model.”
