Chapter 2559: Story 2560: The Crimson Star

Morning dawned over Asterion with music instead of silence.

The streets that had once echoed only with measured footsteps now overflowed with laughter. Merchants called out to their customers, children raced through crystal gardens, and bells rang not as commands, but as celebrations.

The Silent City had found its voice.

From the highest balcony of the palace, Victoria Kane watched the reborn world with quiet satisfaction.

The Living Dawn glowed gently within her heart.

"It suits them," she said softly.

"They were always meant to live like this."

Beside her, Lyra smiled as birds circled the restored Heart of Harmony.

"The city feels different."

She closed her eyes.

"I can’t hear lonely hearts anymore."

"I hear dreams."

Aurelius stood nearby, no longer dressed in the ceremonial robes of the High Custodian. Instead, he wore simple white garments like any ordinary citizen.

"For three centuries," he said quietly, "I believed I had to stand above my people."

He looked toward the joyful crowds.

"Now I know I belong among them."

Father Gabriel smiled warmly.

"The greatest leaders eventually become servants."

Aurelius bowed respectfully.

"And I still have much to learn."

Deep within the palace, the Heart of Harmony pulsed with a steady golden rhythm.

Dr. Evelyn Brooks examined the glowing crystal while recording new observations in Elias Crow’s silver journal.

The pages shimmered.

New words appeared without her touching the pen.

The First Mission is complete. A world restored becomes a beacon. Every beacon attracts both travelers... and those who fear the light.

She frowned.

"That’s new."

Cole Mercer leaned over her shoulder.

"I don’t like prophecies that end with dots."

"They usually mean trouble."

Before anyone could reply, the Heart released another pulse.

This one was different.

Instead of spreading through Asterion...

It reached into the stars.

Far above the palace, a brilliant golden beam pierced the heavens.

The Council of Dawn had felt it.

But something else had as well.

Across the endless sea between universes, beyond the Astral Crossing, a crimson star suddenly flared to life.

Unlike ordinary stars, it did not shine.

It consumed light around it.

Ancient ruins drifted in orbit, their shattered temples wrapped in scarlet mist.

At the center of those ruins sat a lone figure upon a throne carved from black crystal.

Its face remained hidden beneath a crimson hood.

Before it floated hundreds of shattered stars, each trapped inside spheres of dark glass.

A deep voice echoed through the empty realm.

"So..."

"...the Living Dawn has begun restoring the lost worlds."

A second figure emerged from the shadows.

Unlike the first, this being wore armor forged from crimson crystal.

A long spear rested in its hand.

"The first realm has awakened."

"What are your orders?"

The hooded ruler slowly stood.

"The Council has moved sooner than expected."

One gloved hand reached toward a floating sphere containing the image of Asterion.

Golden light shimmered inside it.

With a single touch...

Crimson cracks spread across the sphere.

"The Keeper walks the Path of Balance."

A cold laugh echoed across the dead stars.

"Then our ancient enemy truly lives again."

Back on Asterion, Victoria suddenly stopped walking.

The Living Dawn inside her heart pulsed sharply.

Her golden eyes lifted toward the heavens.

"I felt that."

Nox’Rath appeared beside her, his expression unusually grim.

"So did I."

"What was it?" Lucas asked.

Nox’Rath stared into the distant sky.

"Not the Endless Darkness."

"Something older."

"Something that survived the First War."

The Keeper’s Star suddenly dimmed for a single heartbeat.

Then it blazed brighter than ever before.

Far beyond its light...

A second crimson star appeared in the heavens.

It did not belong to Asterion.

It was coming closer.

Victoria rested her hand upon the Dawnblade.

"Our next journey..."

She gazed at the ominous star with calm determination.

"...has already found us."
