Chapter 4: Sister Wei’s Visit
After a while, I gradually got used to living in Yao Liang’s large apartment.
That evening after dinner, I was doing my homework alone when suddenly there was a rapid knocking on the door.
Yao Liang has a key, and apart from the cleaning lady, no one else had come by in all these days. Why would someone be knocking now? I quickly went to the door and opened it.
A tall, beautiful young woman stood gracefully in the doorway. Her long black hair cascaded over her shoulders. She had a sweet face, fair skin, large eyes with long eyelashes, and delicate lips. She wore a light yellow tight-fitting T-shirt and skinny jeans. Although her full breasts were completely covered by the T-shirt, they looked firm and elastic, as if they were about to burst out.
Her full hips and long, shapely legs were tightly wrapped in the thin skinny jeans. Her thighs were full and firm, her calves well-proportioned. She wore a pair of brown pointed-toe high-top boots that reached just below her knees, covering her rounded calves. The heels were about five centimeters high, which made her already long legs look even straighter and more elegant. Her tall, slender figure looked youthful and beautiful in the tight clothes.
"You are..."
The beautiful woman looked familiar, but I couldn’t remember where I had seen her before.
"Zhou Bin?" The woman looked at me for a moment, then her eyes lit up with recognition. "Long time no see! What are you doing at my brother’s place? Where is he?"
Then I remembered. The beautiful woman standing in front of me, who resembled the handsome Yao Liang, was Yao Wei — Yao Liang’s older sister. She was now in college. I used to see her often when we were children, but I hadn’t seen her much in recent years, so I didn’t recognize her at first.
"Sister Wei, Liang went out today. He hasn’t come by," I said, feeling a little awkward. The woman in front of me was very different from the older sister I remembered from childhood.
"Really? I don’t believe it!" Yao Wei glared at me accusingly. A sweet fragrance drifted past as she walked straight into the apartment.
"Yao Liang! Where the hell are you?! Are you hiding inside?! Come out!"
She searched the house room by room, clearly familiar with the layout. It didn’t seem like this was her first time here.
"Sister Wei, he’s really not here. He only comes occasionally. Doesn’t he live with you?"
I followed behind her, my eyes drawn to the way her body moved. She had a slightly plump figure, but her height made her look full and healthy. Her short T-shirt occasionally revealed glimpses of her fair, delicate waist. Her round, perky buttocks and firm thighs swayed inside the tight jeans. Her long legs, wrapped in the brown high-top boots, made a quick "tap-tap-tap" sound with every step.
I remembered her as a mischievous, troublesome girl when we were little. Now she had grown into such a beautiful and sexy woman. People really do change a lot as they grow up, I thought.
"Hmph!"
After checking every room and confirming no one was hiding, she turned around and walked over to me. Her beautiful face still held a look of mild anger and reproach. She put her fair hands on her hips and said, "He never comes home. Where has he been fooling around? Tell me!"
I spread my hands helplessly. "How would I know? He stays over sometimes, but only two or three days a week. The rest of the time he says he’s going back to his own place. We just play games and study together. That’s all."
She looked at me skeptically for a moment, then sized me up and nodded. "Okay. You’re not a liar, so I’ll believe you for now. If he comes back, you have to tell me immediately."
We had known each other since we were children, and Sister Wei knew I had an honest personality, so she trusted me quite a bit.
"Okay, okay. Let’s add each other on WeChat. I’ll report his whereabouts to you," I said with a smile.
"Good."
She took out her phone and we added each other. When she leaned closer, I could vaguely see her snow-white, tender breasts and the edge of a white lace bra through the neckline of her T-shirt, along with the soft cleavage between them.
She carried a sweet, youthful fragrance mixed with a faint scent of sweat from exercise. It stirred something in me.
"Why are you staying at his place instead of your own home?" Yao Wei asked after putting away her phone, her bright eyes blinking as she looked at me.
"It’s a long story," I replied with a wry smile, my voice full of helplessness.
"Pfft." She chuckled. "You sound like you’ve been through life’s ups and downs. Did you have a fight with your family and run away from home?"
"Something like that. Wei-jie, what year are you in now? Don’t you live on campus? And do you still have time to keep an eye on A-Liang?" I asked.
Yao Wei gently brushed a few strands of hair behind her ear, revealing her fair neck. The simple movement was unexpectedly alluring. "I’m a sophomore in college. I live in the suburbs and usually drive back home. My dad is worried about Liang, and he doesn’t have much free time, so he asked me to keep an eye on him."
"Oh."
"Fine, I’m leaving. If he comes, tell me right away. I’ll teach him a lesson. He even dares to block my calls!"
Yao Wei said this angrily, but even when she was upset she still looked sweet and cute.
"Okay, no problem. Even if it means betraying my brother, I’ll go through fire and water for Sister Wei... or rather, I’ll stab him in the ribs twice for you," I joked with a smile.
"You’re such a chatterbox." Yao Wei chuckled and gave me a playful, reproachful look before walking toward the door.
"Oh, right." She turned back. "Let’s hang out sometime. You look so listless. It’ll be fun for us young people to get together and relax."
"We’ll see," I replied casually. I didn’t really enjoy socializing, and going to parties or karaoke bars always felt a bit awkward.
"You brat! What kind of attitude is that? Are you just brushing off your Sister Wei?"
Yao Wei turned around again, her face showing mock anger. Her eyes were very beautiful, and they became especially bright and piercing when she was annoyed. I couldn’t help taking a second look at how charming she looked when she was angry.
"Okay, okay, I didn’t say I wouldn’t go. It’s almost finals. I’ll go after the exams, alright, Sister Wei?" I surrendered again.
"Hehehe, you’re still the same as ever. You know how to charm people. It’s settled then. Bye!" Yao Wei smiled sweetly, waved to me, and quickly walked out, closing the door behind her.
I watched her leave. Her jeans swayed with each step, and her round, plump, pert buttocks jiggled lightly. I couldn’t help admiring her tall, fit, and incredibly sexy figure. I felt a small sense of regret that I hadn’t taken the chance to talk with her a little longer while we were alone.
Did I want to flirt with her? Wouldn’t that mean I had feelings for my brother’s older sister? And my brother was still taking such good care of me. Damn it... I’m such a scumbag, I thought, blaming myself.
Suddenly my phone rang. I picked it up — it was my dad calling.
It had been more than half a year since I ran away from home, and my father hadn’t contacted me once. It was clear the bastard didn’t care about me at all. Logically, we had nothing left to say to each other. But since he had called, I figured I should at least listen to what he wanted.
"Hey, Xiaobin." My father’s hoarse voice came through the line. He still sounded drunk. I felt disgusted the moment I heard it.
"What is it?" I asked calmly.
"Hehe. Where have you been staying lately? You seem to be doing quite well."
"Where I live is none of your business. What do you want? If it’s nothing, I’m hanging up." I had no desire to talk to him.
"Of course I have something to say." He remained calm, completely unbothered by my rudeness. I stayed silent and waited. When I didn’t reply, he continued:
"Xiao Bin, this is a very important matter concerning our Zhou family. If you really hate your father, I’m entrusting this matter to you. After that, I’ll leave this place and go live in South Asia."
Something important to the Zhou family? I was puzzled. My father had never discussed family matters with me before. What could he possibly want to tell me now?
When I still didn’t speak, he went on, "Whether you believe it or not, I’m not joking this time. If you’re willing, this will be the last time we see each other."
"Okay," I said.
"Good. Come to the old place at seven this evening." With that, he hung up.
A complicated mix of emotions rose inside me. Ever since my mother left, my father had rarely spoken to me in such a calm tone. Although I still didn’t fully trust him, I decided it wouldn’t hurt to hear what he had to say.
I called Yao Liang and told him I was going out and would be back later. Then I went downstairs, rented a bicycle, and quickly rode back to the old house. The faded sign at the entrance of the alley still read "No. 15, Xiaojia Lane, Daocheng Road." At the end of the narrow, deep alley stood an old six-story building. My father and I used to live on the fourth floor.
I parked the bicycle at the entrance of the alley and walked inside. Summer was approaching, and a warm breeze gently ruffled my hair. The breeze carried a strange sense of ease, as if it had lightened my mood a little.
As I entered the old building and reached the third floor, I vaguely heard arguing coming from upstairs. I quickened my pace. When I reached the fourth floor, the door was wide open. I hurried over.
The room was still as messy as the day I left. My father stood to one side, still wearing the same tattered shirt, looking haggard. For some reason, seeing him made me feel a little sad.
At the round table in the middle of the room sat a fat man with a shaved head and a face full of scars. He wore a black bodysuit, and a black dragon tattoo covered his thick, muscular shoulder. He looked every bit the gangster.
Standing next to him was a tall, thin man with a sallow complexion and a pointed, monkey-like face. He didn’t look like a decent person either.
The moment I walked in, I sensed something was wrong. The fat man was shouting arrogantly:
"Zhou Wen, you’re not a big boss anymore. Don’t put on that serious act. In this society, whoever has more money calls the shots. You owe me so much money, yet you’re still hiding a villa? You just won’t hand it over!"
The fat man’s face twitched as he spoke. He glanced sideways at my father.
My father stood with his hands on his hips, expression indifferent. "Mr. Liu, that villa isn’t my property. You can’t get it from me even if you ask. There’s nothing I can do about it."
"Stop pretending! Everyone knows the big villa in the riverside garden belongs to the Zhou family. Now you’re playing these fancy financial games with us. You’re refusing to listen to reason, aren’t you?!"
The tall, thin man behind the fat man spoke in a sharp, unpleasant voice that made everyone uncomfortable.
