Hogwarts’ John Wick

Chapter 654: Holy Blood, The White Lord

  • Next Chapter

The reformed crimson liquid took the shape of a small horse with a single horn.

Then the liquid changed from red to a vivid milky white.

It looked sacred and filled with light.

Holding the Magic Blood, John said thoughtfully, "If unicorn blood is taken by force, it carries a powerful curse."

"I traded for this blood with Weiwei, so it should be fine, right?"

Having seen firsthand in his first year what happened to someone who drank unicorn blood, John found it somewhat difficult to swallow.

But he had already used it. He could not exactly waste it now.

He opened the lid, and the milky-white little horse seemed ready to leap out.

John drank it in one gulp.

Light flowed down his throat, then spread throughout his entire body.

The throbbing sensation of Magic Blood began.

John was already accustomed to the feeling.

Waves of magic radiated from his body.

The roses on the table grew rapidly, while the lawn outside flourished and withered in cycles.

As the process repeated itself, John reached out and gently clenched his hand.

His palm burst apart, transforming into surging darkness.

The next second, the darkness turned into light.

Not only that, every inch of John’s skin radiated a sacred aura.

His hair transformed into something like a brilliant aurora, floating in the air.

John’s feet left the ground.

He began to levitate.

Like a miniature sun, he continuously radiated light in every direction.

An ordinary person would have been blinded simply by looking at it.

John was surprised.

He had not expected unicorn blood to produce such a different effect.

His previous magical outbursts had altered his physical form before, but never to this extent.

"So this is the power of a sacred unicorn?"

As the darlings of the magical world, unicorns possessed a kind of beauty that seemed naturally destined to attract others.

They possessed spiritual power and were among the most unique of all magical creatures.

Even Dementors and Boggarts were not as powerful as they were in that regard.

Animals near unicorns would instinctively protect them. Calling them the darlings of the magical world was no exaggeration.

As time passed, the light gradually dimmed.

The white glow withdrew beneath his skin, and John felt as light as though there were no bones in his body.

John slowly exhaled a breath of white mist.

He slowly raised his hand, and his palm gradually began to change.

It was like transparent glass illuminated from within, the veins beneath his skin glowing like strands of fibre-optic cable.

Light form.

He stared at his left hand, then raised his right.

Ominous black mist seeped from it.

One was incomparably sacred.

The other was incomparably dark.

Two contradictory powers existed within John’s body in surprising harmony.

They were like day and night, existing alongside one another.

He clenched his left fist, and the light spread along his arm until it covered his entire body.

John’s hair lengthened and floated upward as though freed from gravity.

His entire body rose into the air as well.

In this elemental state, gravity no longer bound him.

"What a strange form. I don’t remember unicorns having anything like this."

John cancelled the transformation, puzzled.

Or perhaps this was a hidden state within unicorns that even unicorns themselves had never discovered?

The abilities granted to John by the unicorn were extremely practical.

John snapped his fingers, and a white barrier appeared around him.

He reached out and touched it.

The sensation was strange, yet very warm.

This was the Sacred Domain. It could strengthen John’s magic while also preventing curses from approaching.

It was especially effective with white magic, such as the Patronus Charm.

Divine Blood freed him from the possibility of being poisoned. His blood would naturally expel certain toxins.

John cut open his palm and stared at the red blood threaded with strands of gold.

At this point, he felt that calling himself human might no longer be entirely accurate.

"With this appearance, rather than the Second King, I look more like a White Dark Lord."

John smiled helplessly and conjured a mirror with a wave of his hand.

His reflection radiated an incomparably sacred aura. Give him a white robe, and he could practically pass for a young Merlin.

He took two deep breaths and suppressed all the abnormalities.

When he looked into the mirror again, he had returned to normal.

His skin had simply become smoother and more delicate, perhaps another natural effect of unicorn blood.

Putting the mirror away, John noticed the fourth enhancement.

Improved mental abilities?

John had always been quite skilled with mental magic, so he was curious just how much stronger it had become.

He activated his mental ability.

In an instant, countless voices flooded into his mind, clear yet unbearably chaotic.

John staggered and immediately suppressed the ability.

The voices vanished.

His expression turned grim.

"That range just now... was it all of Surrey? No. Even farther!"

After adjusting for a moment, John activated the ability again.

The range of his mental perception expanded little by little.

"Watson Wick wore the wrong tie when he went out today. Could that be some kind of signal?"

"There’s a school competition next week. I’m definitely taking first place this time!"

"Sigh, Kicky barely touched its cat food today. Should I try a different flavour?"

These were the thoughts of the neighbours on Privet Drive.

John expanded his range further, and even more voices poured in.

"That bastard boss. I’m on holiday and he still made me deliver documents."

"Buying coffee beans for five pence and selling them for five pounds... that should be fine, right?"

"Tch, where should I go get some chips today?"

"Damn it, where did that bastard hide?"

"That was close. Good thing I hid in the wardrobe. Wait! Why is there someone else in here? Where are you touching?!"

"Heh heh, delivered right to my door."

John continued expanding his mental ability.

Before, he could only sense the general meaning of what someone was thinking.

Now, however, he could extend that range across an area roughly the size of London.

John maintained the ability for a while before finally withdrawing it completely.

There were simply too many voices.

If he kept going, the noise alone might drive him insane.

Unless he learned how to filter out the countless irrelevant thoughts and isolate what he actually wanted to know, it would be better not to use this ability over such a large area.

Besides, John had a strange feeling about something.

He wanted to test it.

Leaving the basement, John stood by the window and turned his gaze towards Number Five, Privet Drive.

Two agents were stationed there, monitoring Watson.

Slap!

"Ouch! What are you doing?!"

The older agent stared at his own hand, then at his subordinate, who had just been slapped and now looked utterly aggrieved.

He was dumbfounded.

"I don’t know. I just suddenly really wanted to hit you."

The younger agent was equally stunned.

He suspected he had just been humiliated in some roundabout way, but unfortunately, he had no evidence.

Just as the younger agent began questioning his life choices, the older agent suddenly swung his hand again and slapped him across the face.

Afterward, the older agent scratched his head.

"I suddenly felt like hitting you again. No idea why."

The younger agent was filled with grief and indignation.

In his fury, he... quietly endured it.

After all, this was his superior, and the military had taught him to obey orders.

He began to suspect that the veteran agent was deliberately humiliating him in order to temper his character.

Yes.

That had to be it!

As expected of a veteran agent. Even his methods of training subordinates were so unique!

The younger agent suddenly understood the older agent’s painstaking intentions.

John, meanwhile, was left speechless by the younger agent’s thoughts.

Brother, it’s fine to fool other people, but don’t fool yourself too.

John withdrew his gaze.

His hypothesis had been confirmed.

To a certain extent, John could use his mental ability to manipulate other people.

This ability was even more terrifying than the Imperius Curse.

It was absurdly troublesome.

"Well, that’s an unexpected gain."

A smile appeared at the corner of John’s lips.

The unicorn really had brought him far more surprises than he had expected.
