Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 1219: Get Out of My House_3
Kode’s face turned even darker,
“Just because of a surname?” he said in a deep voice, “Potter isn’t a rare surname.”
“What if we add the Southern Highlands to it?” Kael continued, “Someone once said that the descendants of Ignatius live there, and with your surname, the answer is clear.”
“Who said that?”
“Grindelwald,” Kael said, “He disappeared this time because of this.”
“Ha…” Kode suddenly drew his wand, pointing it straight at Kael, “So you believe in that legend too, wanting to seize the Three Holy Artifacts?”
“Oh, right, I almost forgot you’re a wizard studying magical history. People like you would naturally believe in it. No wonder you wouldn’t leave and approached me for this, for the legendary Invisibility Cloak.”
“Don’t misunderstand, I really didn’t think that.”
“Do you think I’d believe you? Liar!” Kode said excitedly.
Kael didn’t explain, simply raised his hand slowly, his fingers moving gently.
In Kode’s shocked gaze, his wand instantly flew out of his hand, spinning and landing in Kael’s hand.
“Wandless Disarming Charm…” Kode said hoarsely, his body suddenly weakening.
He was sure that if the person in front of him wanted to kill him, it couldn’t be easier, especially now that he didn’t even have a wand.
But in the next second, Kael placed his wand back on the counter and voluntarily took two steps back.
“Now you believe me, right? I didn’t come here for any Invisibility Cloak.” Kael explained, “If I really wanted it, you couldn’t stop me.”
Kael waved his hand again, and the iron shelving next to Kode began to twist wildly, turning into a lump of tangled iron.
Hearing the creaking sound in his ears, Kode couldn’t help but swallow.
“Okay, I believe you.”
“I understand your reasoning, no need to force it,” Kael said, “It’s a legendary item after all, with many coveting it. If it weren’t urgent, I wouldn’t come to borrow it from you.”
“You’ve run into trouble?” Kode glanced again at the lump of iron next to him… He chose to believe Kael.
“Enemies chasing me, wanting to use the Invisibility Cloak to hide?”
“It’s not for me, it’s for someone else.” Kael thought for a moment and said, “It concerns whether a little girl can survive.”
“Is that person important to you?”
“Sort of, you could say I came to Godric’s Hollow because of her.”
“Someone from the Valley?” Kode asked in confusion, “Who is it?”
“I can’t say, and you shouldn’t ask.” Kael shook his head.
“If you can’t say, then forget it.” Kode extended one hand, “Hand it over.”
“What…”
“Galleons, you’re buying up all my stock, aren’t you?” Kode said with confidence, “I’ve decided to increase the price tenfold, a total of twenty Galleons. If you’re willing to pay, I’ll lend you the Invisibility Cloak.”
“You agree?”
“What else can I do?” Kode said irritably, “My bones aren’t as hard as the shelf. Hurry up, stop dawdling, or I’ll change my mind.”
“No problem.” Kael quickly placed a pouch on the table, “I’ll give you fifty Galleons…”
“No need, just twenty Galleons, I don’t want more.” Kode counted out twenty gold coins, tossed the pouch back to Kael, and turned into the room behind him.
Several minutes later…
“It’s okay, Patina, just a pesky customer. Go back, I can handle it.”
With Kode’s voice, he reappeared, but this time, he had a dust-covered box in his hand.
“Here, take what you need.” He closed his eyes, adopting a sorrowful and despairing look, and pushed the box toward Kael with a deep breath.
“That’s enough, Kode.” Kael couldn’t help saying, “I’m just borrowing, not stealing, I’ll return it to you.”
“You can’t say for sure.” Kode sneered, “Even if you don’t return it, I can’t get it back… Damn big-mouth Grindelwald.”
Kael felt a bit helpless, but his previous performance indeed wasn’t very persuasive. However, it was already nine o’clock, and he still had to find Arianna later, he truly couldn’t explain things clearly to Kode.
“Forget it, I’ll trade mine with you, okay?” Kael also took out an Invisibility Cloak and handed it to a bewildered Kode.
“But if you already have an Invisibility Cloak, why borrow mine?”
“It’s not the same.” Kael shook his head, “Mine is an ordinary Invisibility Cloak, but yours is a legendary Holy Artifact that reaches beyond the jurisdiction of the God of Death.”
“Then I’m still at a loss, aren’t I?” Kode pouted, muttering under his breath.
Exchanging regular goods for a limited edition, this transaction seemed unfair no matter how you looked at it.
“Then I’ll add a bottle of good wine, does that work for you?” Kael took out an unremarkable glass bottle.
“Tch, just honey wine.” Kode glanced at it, “What’s so good about…”
Before he finished speaking, Kael had already uncorked the bottle, and a strong aroma of wine instantly filled the small room.
In a flash, Kode, like a fish tossed onto the shore, started breathing heavily, as if trying to inhale all the surrounding air into his stomach.
He dashed to Kael’s side at an unbelievable speed and capped the bottle with force.
“I want two bottles… no, three!” Kode looked at Kael with burning eyes.
“Greedy guy.” Kael chuckled, taking out two more bottles of honey wine.
He had prepared these before lending the Hufflepuff Golden Cup to Fred and George, but didn’t expect them to come in handy now.
Kode snatched the bottles from Kael’s hands and pointed to the door.
“Alright, now take your worn-out cloak and get out of my house.”
