Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying
Chapter 1281: Queuing Up for Registration
The boy’s voice was exceptionally steady, as if he were voicing their thoughts:
“The weekly reports that the prefects must submit are just a rundown of everyone’s classes and activities. Don’t report any abnormal behavior, and there won’t be any information that can be exploited.”
“If no one is willing to cooperate with his work, the so-called ‘Safety Regulations’ will become nothing but a piece of waste paper!”
“Exactly!” Someone excitedly clenched their fist and said, “The report we can give him is — Mr. Weasley, the weather is nice today, but the kitchen’s meat porridge is a bit too salty, and more than half of the people didn’t finish it — how’s that?!”
“Hahaha, in that case, whether or not he responds, it’ll turn into a joke!” Someone nearby echoed excitedly.
However, Vid Gray didn’t laugh; he just watched the audience, his gaze calm as water.
He softly said, “But the problem is — can we control everyone’s actions? Can we ensure that no one will betray us?”
“If there’s another Percy Weasley among the students — and this is almost inevitable — when he sees this as a chance to strike against the enemy and curry favor with Ministry officials, he will take the initiative to report.”
“In this way, the information vacuum we’ve established will be quickly broken!”
In the darkness, the students fell silent.
Vid continued, “At the same time, though Percy Weasley cannot reprimand students for not registering and reporting, he can still target those prefects who submit nothing but nonsense.”
“He would take the initiative to ‘discover’ certain problems, question inactive prefects, suspect them of protecting students, restrict their rights to participate in school activities, and assert that they need ‘correction.'”
“When pressure is focused on a few people, the alliance of resistance will also be broken!”
The silence lasted a few seconds, and someone softly asked, “So what should we do?”
“It’s simple.” Vid smiled and said, “And that is — let everyone become ‘high-risk’.”
“The first step to abolish the ‘Safety Regulations’ is for all of you to proactively report, proactively register.”
“Go tell Mr. Weasley about any slight ‘anomalies’ around you, blow up small matters, describe normal emotions in extremely exaggerated terms, use numerous reports to impact this system!”
“When suspicion falls upon everyone, it’s as if no one is suspicious!”
…
In the office, Percy looked at Pansy Parkinson across from him, her chin held high, a smile on her face that made him entirely uncomfortable.
She was clutching a roll of parchment, which seemed at least four feet long.
Percy turned a page of the notebook filled with nonsense and calmed his restless mood, saying:
“Please sit down, Miss Parkinson. What would you like to report?”
“Oh, there’s so much.”
Pansy sat down and slowly unfolded the parchment.
Percy looked down, seeing it densely packed with words, starting with some very familiar names.
Pansy said, “I am the Slytherin fifth-year female prefect, and this is my ‘Student Abnormal Behavior Report’ for the week.”
“But I believe that having prefects only report students from their own house is too one-sided! There’s always the risk of someone protecting members of their own house.”
“So I wrote down all the issues I could find, hoping to get attention from the Ministry of Magic…”
Saying this, she seemed to think her tone too harsh, and reluctantly added: “… Mr. Weasley.”
Percy didn’t mind her tone, just took the parchment from her hand, glanced briefly over it, feeling like the entire Gryffindor College list was on it.
If anyone’s name was missing… Percy would rather believe it was because Pansy didn’t know them or hadn’t remembered their name.
For a moment, he couldn’t find the words, and after a while, he asked: “You want to report these people for abnormal behavior… what’s the reason?”
Pansy pouted and said, “I wrote it all down, but if you need me to, I can repeat it.”
“First, there’s Gryffindor’s Potter, Weasley, and Granger; they never obey the rules and consistently break school regulations… By the way, Mr. Weasley, you wouldn’t protect your own brother, right?”
“Of course not.” Percy said coldly, “Go on.”
“Alright.” Pansy adjusted her posture and said, “I’m sure Potter has disclosed quite a bit about the Magic World to his Muggle relatives, severely violating the Confidentiality Law.”
“The same goes for Granger; someone saw her personally take her Muggle parents to Diagon Alley — isn’t this the most severe leakage?”
“And then there’s Ron Weasley, who has expressed many extreme views about bloodlines.”
“Mr. Weasley, it’s not only Muggle bloodlines that face discrimination; actually, our Pure-Blood Clans also encounter unspeakable slander, hoping the Ministry of Magic will treat this justly…”
“Also Mr. Weasley’s twin brothers, Fred Weasley and George Weasley, they’ve created quite a few harmful Magic Items, using the excuse of ‘pranks’ on other students freely…”
Pansy rambled on, spending a vast majority of the time complaining about Percy’s three brothers, and surprisingly, even his little sister Ginny was among those reported.
Initially, Percy felt his face burning and wished to use the strictest means to punish Fred and others for making him lose face.
But after he quickly scanned through the list on the parchment, he couldn’t help but fall silent.
On the list, not only Gryffindor but also at least one-third of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, along with a small number of Slytherin.
He seriously suspected that Pansy Parkinson was using his identity and name to attack everyone she disliked.
Percy silently stared at Pansy.
Pansy stared back at him, her expression unbelievably determined.
“Miss Parkinson,” Percy tried to keep his voice steady, “I need specifics, facts that can be verified…”
“What I’m saying is all true!” Pansy raised an eyebrow and said, “As for investigation and verification, isn’t that the Ministry of Magic’s job?”
“But…”
Just as Percy began to speak, a knock on the door suddenly sounded.
“Come in!”
He almost blurted it out impatiently.
The door opened slightly, and a Hufflepuff boy poked his head in, apologetically saying:
“Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Weasley. But I’ve been waiting for half an hour, and it’s almost time for class…”
The boy’s eyes glanced at Pansy, then quickly looked away.
“I wanted to ask… could you give a number or something? So next time I come, I won’t have to queue all over again…”
“Number?” Percy was stunned, “There’s only two or three people left, it will all be finished before your class ends, what number?”
“How could there only be two or three people?” The boy looked at him in surprise and said, “Mr. Weasley, the line outside is already at the corridor corner!”
