Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 1271: Magic Curse Study Meeting Room

  • Next Chapter

At six-thirty in the evening, after dinner, students started to head towards the meeting room on the fifth floor one after another.

Harry stood up, patted Ron’s shoulder, and whispered, “Sorry… Good luck!”

Ron’s face immediately turned sour.

Then came Hermione and Neville.

The brown-haired girl solemnly reminded him, but her tone was slightly softer than usual: “Don’t be careless.”

Neville looked at him worriedly and asked, “If it makes you really uncomfortable… why don’t we ask Ginny? George should be able to too…”

“Ask me what?” A voice interrupted from the side, and Ginny looked at them in confusion: “Do you have something to discuss with me?”

“Nothing!” Ron took a deep breath and stood up, saying, “Let’s go, we should be heading to the meeting room too!”

“Oh, sure, you’re definitely hiding something from me!”

Ginny picked up her backpack and caught up with Ron, confidently saying.

Ron replied irritably, “I have lots of things hidden from you, which one are you talking about?”

Ginny immediately said, “The one you guys were just trying to talk to me about!”

“Hey! Ron!”

Just as they reached the foyer, they saw Michael standing there, waving with a full smile.

Ginny raised her eyebrows in surprise.

She usually didn’t see Ravenclaw’s Michael being so enthusiastic towards her brother.

—Could it be that he is the type of person who divides boundaries very clearly, and once someone joins the SSC, he treats them like one of his own?

But Michael didn’t even greet Harry and the others?

With suspicion in her eyes, Ginny saw Michael affectionately hitting Ron’s shoulder, speaking offhandedly: “You’ve worked hard.”

Ron showed no joy upon being accepted, he only pulled the corners of his mouth reluctantly, his expression very complex and conflicted, even with a bit of nausea.

As if he was being forced to swallow a dead spider.

Seeing this, no one among Harry and others felt surprised, someone merely patted Ron’s back, another patted his arm.

The feeling was so much like Ron was about to sacrifice himself to carve out a path for everyone, so everyone was silently thanking him and encouraging him.

—This is too strange!

Ginny’s gaze scanned everyone’s faces one by one, the hand clutching her magic wand in her pocket tightened.

She didn’t like the feeling of being excluded.

Originally, the SSC members had their secrets, their atmosphere was always self-contained, and Ginny thought she could understand.

But now, even Ron was in that circle…

Ginny bit her lip, suddenly walked up to Neville, who was standing slightly behind, and asked, “What exactly do you want Ron to do?”

“Ah?” Neville looked panicked, his gaze wandering, quickly waved his hand and said, “No! Nothing…”

Ginny narrowed her eyes slightly.

She lowered her tone, leaned closer, and said, “You wouldn’t be… forcing him to do something risky, right? If you don’t explain clearly, I’ll write to my mom right now!”

Because of Fred and George’s “activities,” Mrs. Weasley’s Howlers periodically burst open in the hall during breakfast, the furious howling capable of rousing fear deep inside anyone.

—Except for Fred and George.

But Neville belonged to those who couldn’t escape the fright.

Thinking Mrs. Weasley might misunderstand that they were “bullying” Ron and might turn around to send him a Howler, followed possibly by his grandmother’s long-missed Howler…

Neville’s heart started pounding heavily, he hurriedly stretched out his hand to stop Ginny, who was about to leave, saying stammeringly:

“Actually… it’s actually not something adventurous…”

“Then even more, you shouldn’t be hiding it from me, right?” Ginny stared at him with intense pressure.

“Ah, it’s like this…” Neville retracted his neck, saying: “Vid analyzed the disadvantages of the Safety Regulations with us, everyone wants Ron to talk to Percy…”

“They’re brothers, right! Some things… feel better suited for Ron to say.”

“No wonder you said asking me would work too.” Ginny was skeptical, asking again: “Something like this, why is it worth hiding?”

Neville sighed, “Ron doesn’t really want to go. And, as long as it’s not public, if the persuasion fails… only we know, it wouldn’t be too embarrassing…”

Ginny asked again, “Why Ron? Why not Fred and George?”

Neville frowned bitterly, “You think we didn’t want to? But they’d definitely end up fighting, right?”

Thinking about the recent looks the twins gave Percy, Ginny frowned.

Kind of makes sense.

Again, not quite reasonable.

She looked at Neville’s honest face over and over again, the round-faced boy sweating profusely, blushing… possibly because she was too close.

Ginny pulled back a little, suddenly noticing a gaze.

She turned around, seeing Michael smilingly watching her, their eyes met, the boy blinked mischievously.

He looked like he knew what they were talking about.

Soon they arrived at the fifth floor, the sign for the [Magic Curse Study Meeting Room] had been rehung at the door, warm yellow light flowing from inside the door.

Ginny walked in, the room’s space was expanded more than three times, yet even so, it felt cramped due to the crowd.

Her gaze scanned around, frowning slightly.

Percy was standing at the lectern beside the window, flipping through documents. Next to him were Professor McGonagall and Professor Longbottom.

“Merlin’s beard!” Ginny heard Ron mutter, “He really came!”

Ginny glanced at her brother, suddenly feeling a bit relieved—it wasn’t up to her to persuade Percy.

She didn’t think Percy would change his mind for family, he didn’t even care about their father’s life or death.

Ginny saw a few of her roommates, so she walked towards them, inadvertently noticing Vid heading towards the lectern.

A question suddenly popped up in the girl’s mind:

Vid Gray couldn’t possibly be unaware that Ron’s “persuasion” was doomed to fail.

Then why would he make such an ineffective effort?

…

“Mr. Weasley.”

Near the lectern, Professor McGonagall’s voice suddenly sounded.

The voice wasn’t loud, but Percy immediately raised his head: “Professor McGonagall?”

“Regarding the ‘Safety Regulations’ you’ve issued,” Professor McGonagall said coldly, “I have a few comments I’d like to make.”

“Of course, please go ahead.” Percy immediately closed the file in his hands and said, “Feel free to voice any opinions, the Ministry of Magic always values input from the front line.”

Professor McGonagall frowned.

She really disliked Percy’s tone—like he was the embodiment of the Ministry of Magic, every word, every decision, every expression, coming from the “Ministry of Magic” instead of “Percy Weasley.”
