His Wild Omega

Chapter 6: You Have His Number?!

Dante stood, hair neatly combed backward and with his arms spread out. Two maids stood on either side of him. They adjusted his suit and fixed the buttons meticulously.

He wiggled his finger.

One of them nodded and walked toward a closet. Within were the same brands of perfume, completely settled in fine, clean lines. She picked one, returned to him, and handed it over.

"Breakfast as well has been served in the dining hall, Alpha."

"You can go," he said to both of them.

They gave polite smiles, bowing at the waist before they turned around and left.

He used the perfume on himself, picked up his briefcase, and left the bedroom. He made a beeline and took the stairs down to the first floor.

He walked into the dining room. And at the long dining table, someone was already waiting for him.

Meris.

He spared her a glance, walked over, and sat down in the head seat. He didn’t say a word to her.

About three maids stood at duty.

"Dante—"

"Where is she?" he asked towards one of the maids, cutting Meris off.

"Sir?"

"Selene. Where is she?"

The maid blinked awkwardly. "Alpha, you...ordered that she isn’t to dine with you and the madam. Also, she has yet to come out."

As if realizing the lack of her presence was also due to his own order, his finger curled and froze around his fork.

"I see."

"Why are you asking about her, Dante?" Meris inquired.

When he gave her no response, she pouted her lips, making a pitiful face.

"Are you still upset with me about last night?" as she pleaded, ever so secretly and slowly, she began to release her pheromones, gradually encompassing the scent in the air. "Dante, please. I am sorry. I hadn’t meant to upset you."

Dante’s nose twitched. His eyes flickered severally. He winced a little, proceeding to rub his temple. He was suddenly experiencing an excruciating migraine.

But she kept going, filling the air with her pheromones. "Dante. Look at me, will you? Please?"

The color of Dante’s eyes grew cold, changing towards a darker gray that almost shifted to black. He threw a look at her. His lips parted. It seemed as if he had something to say but appeared unable to.

She continued, releasing even more of her pheromones.

It was too intense.

He hissed under his breath and rubbed his temple as if in pain. "Could you stop...releasing your pheromones? It’s giving me a headache."

"But you like my pheromones, Dante," Meris spoke so sweetly and coercively. "Let me make you feel good."

His forehead twitched. The expression on his face bounced from one of confusion to one of softness. And the more he took in her pheromone, his pupils expanded and his gaze eventually cooled, settling into fondness.

"Dante?" she sweetly said his name, uncertainty in her tone. "Are you...okay?"

Dante gave her a gentle smile. "Of course." He sounded warm, almost as if he wasn’t the same man who’d just come downstairs, cold and unfeeling with his expression and attitude.

"Meris, I... Look, I’m not upset at you anymore. Just don’t do that again, hm? Even if you’re my mate, that is a boundary you shouldn’t cross. You know my mother isn’t a topic I ever like to discuss."

Quick relief washed over Meris’s face, disappearing almost as soon as it came.

Whew! It worked!

She watched him rise from the chair and took her hand to lovingly leave a gentle kiss on the back.

"I’ll head for work. I’ll see you when I return."

"I’ll be waiting for you, Honey." There was even a giggle in her tone.

Dante grabbed his briefcase and left the dining room.

Meanwhile, Selene, who’d finally woken up, stared into the mirror at the bathroom sink. Not only was her room a storage room, but she was forced to share a bathroom with the workers.

It was unbelievable!

The young miss of a powerful pack is being treated this way. If her father knew, he’d never keep quiet. But she wasn’t so spoiled as to make things harder for her father. She could tolerate this much.

Brushing every crevice of her mouth, she spat into the sink and rinsed her mouth.

She washed her face after and then grabbed a towel, stepping outside.

She was still in her pajamas, nose twitching as she made her way out towards the dining hall. The pure smell of freshly cooked breakfast filled the air. And she loved food. She loved food so much that it was enough to brighten a terrible day for her.

Her throat bobbed as she swallowed, mouth watered.

Selene approached the dining hall. She took a step forward to get in, but someone emerged in front of her, blocking her path.

"Where do you think you’re going?"

She lifted her eyes and came face to face with Meris, who was a few inches shorter than her. Around the height of 5’5.

"What?" she asked.

"You can’t come in here," Meris spat. "This place isn’t for you."

"And why not?"

"Because this place isn’t for you. How many times do you need me to repeat myself?" Meris folded her arms. "This is Dante’s pack, and soon to be mine too, because I will be his Luna."

"Okay...?" Selene blinked, confused. "But what does that have to do with anything? I just want to eat."

"And I’m telling you this place isn’t for you."

"And why is that?" She said, "Dante never said to me or made a rule I couldn’t dine in the dining hall. I’m not some prisoner."

"Are you not?"

Meris smiled sweetily.

"You’re an outsider here. You’re not a member of this pack. Dante is keeping you around like a property, so what are you if not a prisoner?"

Selene furrowed her brows. "Okay, I see what this is."

"What do you mean?"

She was amused. She could already tell Meris found her presence uneasy. She didn’t want her around. But she didn’t care for it. She was solely here for her father, no one else.

So, she reached into the pocket of her pajamas and took out her phone.

"What are you trying to do?" Meris questioned.

"Calling Dante." Selene said, "I want to understand why I can’t dine in the dining hall."

"You have his number?!"

"Obviously? Why wouldn’t I?"

"How can you have his number?!"

"How can I not?" Selene felt bemused. "There isn’t anything between us, but I’m still his wife. I should have his number."

"No, you shouldn’t!" Meris reached forward for the phone. "Give that phone to me!" She struggled for the device. "You shouldn’t have it! You shouldn’t talk to him or message him! Hand it over!"

Selene, who was deeply confused by her behavior at this point, snatched her by the wrist.

One thing about Wild Omegas was that despite the weak general appearance of Omegas, the Wild Omegas were strong, while the Regular Omegas were considered innately weak as well, hence compatible with Alphas, who held a responsibility of protection towards them.

She snapped into her face. "You can throw your authority around this place like some paranoid madam of the house. But what you will not do is touch. My. Things!"
