Selene cocked her brow.

She threw a leg over the other and folded her arms. "You... Heh, I should be asking you that question. What are you doing here?"

Meris’s face twitched. "You!—"

Ellenor scoffed.

That attracted Meris’s attention. She looked at her. "You little wretched maid," spouting so with disgust, she stormed over, lifted her hand and slapped Ellenor hard across the face.

"Who do you think you are to scoff at me?" she questioned. "Do you—"

She was suddenly snatched by her arm. And the moment she was forcefully spun around, a harsh slap landed against her cheek, the weight of it so hard she felt her head nearly spin off her neck.

Selene snarled, "You can run your mouth as you like, but never you put your hands on my maid ever again, Meris!"

Meris snapped her gaze up.

She glared at her with burning eyes, breast stuttering up and then as she breathed heavily. "You slapped me?!"

"Yes I did," Selene answered adamantly.

Meris straightened up.

She fumed, pointing warning fingers at her. "I am Dante’s maid. The future Luna of this pack. How dare you put your hands on me?!"

"I wouldn’t have done that if you just kept your hands to yourself." Rolling her eyes, Selene sat back down on the sofa. "Ellenor is my personal maid. No one can hurt her and especially not before me."

"You bitch!"

Meris stumped her feet on the floor.

"I’ll have Dante know about this."

Then she pointed furiously at Ellenor. "And he will have you killed for disrespecting me!"

"You wish," Selene scoffed.

She was about to continue speaking when the other sales girl spoke. "Ah, madams, please let me serve you our store brewed tea."

"I don’t want it!" Meris snapped, "Give me a seat!"

"Yes, madam." Bowing slightly, the maid left and when she returned, she came with a wooden chair which had a foamed comfortable seating.

She kept it down.

Meris was about to sit when she noticed the sofa.

Instead of taking the wooden chair, she stormed over and forcefully sat on the sofa.

Selene eyed her, then she looked away, shaking her head with a smirk.

The sales girl eventually returned with a cup of fresh steaming tea.

Selene took it.

She smelt it first before taking a sip. "Very nice tea. Thank you," she said.

Soon after, the other sales girl came out.

This time in her hand, she held a red dress. Its design was intricate, beautiful with a beaded diamonds running around the hips.

The arms were designed to fall around the shoulders, connecting a fine drape of cotton feel to the hips.

"Wow..." Ellenor breathed out in admiration. "It’s so beautiful."

"Isn’t it?" Selene asked with a smirk.

Ellenor excitedly nodded her head. "You should get this one, Mada. Red is your colour. It will really suit you well."

"You think so?"

"Absolutely!"

Selene began to stare at the dress again, examining it.

Meris, who sat next to her, glanced at her. She watched her admiring expression and her eyes narrowed with pure hostility.

"I want that dress," she said suddenly.

Selene and Ellenor glanced at her.

"You..." Ellenor’s teeth dug into her lower lip. "My madam picked it first! You can’t just come in here and take what she has already chosen!"

"ShUT UP!"

Meris snapped.

"You may have this bitch protecting you. But let me tell you, when I speak, don’t even think about speaking or talking to me as you please. Or I promise you, I will get you killed or worse, you won’t be able to dream of seeing your poor stricken family ever again!!"

Ellenor immediately cowered back. She went completely silent.

Selene set the cup of tea aside.

She looked at the sales girl. "I requested this dress."

"Yes, you did, madam," the sales girl agreed.

"So then, can anyone else demand it?"

The salesgirl bit her lips, eyeing both women. "Madams..."

"Answer me," Selene demanded.

The salesgirl swallowed hard.

She was stuck, not knowing what to do.

If she said it could be demanded, she would be offending Selene. But if she said it couldn’t be demanded, she would be offending Meris.

She ping ponged her attention between the two again and again.

Everyone knew Meris was Dante’s mate, so she was very aware of her identity. Selene on the other hand...

I can’t risk offending Madam Meris who is bound to be the future Luna. I will be in too much trouble.

Stuttering, she said, "It...can be demanded by someone else so long as payment has yet to be made."

Selene narrowed her eyes on her.

She wasn’t stupid.

She knew that the salesgirl was only trying to please Meris. Anyone would, after all, Meris will become the future Luna.

She smiled. "Alright then. But..."

"...If I pay higher for this dress, I can have it, can’t I?"

The salesgirl nodded. "Yes, you can, Madam."

Inwardly, she was gleeful.

If they ended up paying higher for the dress than the original price, she was bound to get a promotion.

"Alright then." Selene nodded. She asked, "What is the price of this dress?"

"10 million," the sales girl said. "It is the recent best release of this store. It has yet to even make it into the market, set to be put out in two days time."

"Alright then, I will—"

"I’ll buy it!" Meris interrupted.

She took out her card and stretched it out towards the salegirl. "Do the transaction."

The salesgirl eyed the card.

She stepped forwards and collected it. Then, she picked up the POS machine, just about to draw the card when—

"Why are you so hasty to pay, Meris?" Selene glanced at Meris.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Meris scoffed. "A 10 Million dress, how can you afford it in this pack? You may be the princess of another pack, but you’re here, in our territory."

"Let me tell you, quit the act. And don’t waste your time. It’s not like—"

"You talk too much," Selene chuckled, cutting her off. She reached into her purse and took out the black card, extending it to the salesgirl. "I am buying this dress. Do the transaction."
