His Wild Omega
Chapter 26: I Was Jelaous!
Within his master bedroom, Dante paced back and forth.
Every now and then, he would stop and stare out the window of his room. He couldn’t understand what was wrong with him anymore.
Whenever he was around Selene, he felt like he lost himself.
Earlier in the office, he had never meant to get territorial with her, but he did against his will. He couldn’t stand seeing another man, an alpha at that, get close to her. They felt like a threat.
Even his wolf couldn’t control itself.
He walked to the large sofa and settled into it. He threw his head back and stared at the ceiling.
"What exactly is it with her?" He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Is it because she’s a wild omega?"
So what if she is? Being a wild omega has nothing to do with me. Why then am I so affected?
Unable to take it anymore, he stood up from the sofa and left the room.
Dante made his way downstairs and beelined into the kitchen. He pulled open the fridge, took a bottle of water and walked off. However, when he passed by the living room, he paused.
He saw her again. Selene, sleeping on the couch.
Why did she keep doing this?
She had a room.
He decided to ignore it, turning to leave, but then he paused.
A snap of his finger was all it took, and a maid came running. He asked, "Does she sleep out here every night?"
"Yes, alpha."
"Why?"
"The madam says her room has no ventilation and so she gets sweaty at night. Because of that, she tends to spend her night sleeping here in the living room."
Dante squeezed his face.
He walked away and found his way to the storage room where she’d been given as a room. He pushed the door open and stepped inside, only to come to a stop.
There was truly no ventilation in this room, nor was there even a standing fan for her to keep cool.
The mattress was thin and nearly floor size.
The only other thing left in the room was just the wooden table and chairs. Even her clothes were still left in her luggage.
Dante snapped his finger loudly, annoyed.
When the maid arrived, he turned to her. "Why is there no proper chairs, desks and even a bed in here? No fan, nothing?"
"Well..."
"I specifically asked for these things to be put to allow her comfortability. Also...she was really given a storage room?"
When Selene had complained that day that her room was a storage room, he actually hadn’t believed her. She was the daughter of a supreme leader of a powerful pack. He knew she was used to luxury, and so he had assumed she called her guest room a storage room because maybe it just wasn’t as big as her room at home.
To think...
...it was actually a storage room.
"A-alpha..." the maid stuttered.
"I specifically said to give her one of the guest rooms. Why is she in a stage fucking room?" he spat out.
The maid was startled. Both legs were shaking. She could barely keep herself still. She couldn’t even let a word out, scared to the bones.
"Answer me!" he snapped.
"W-well..." She swallowed thickly. "I-I-It was Madam Meris who made us change her into a storage room. She is also the one who ordered she’d be given things like this in this room."
"What?!" Dante choked out. "Meris? Are you lying to me?!"
"N-no, Alpha! I would never!"
She rapidly shook her head. Suddenly she fell to her knees.
"I would never dare lie. W-we only did as we were ordered. We couldn’t disobey her, Alpha!"
Dante threw his head back and let out a deep breath.
He couldn’t understand.
Since when did Meris get so vicious? Why would she ever do this?
Selene was the daughter of a supreme alpha for goodness sake. Why in the world would he ever want her in a storage room? A place he wouldn’t even have any of his servants sleep in?
Clenching his hands into a fist, he turned around and stormed off to the stairs. He made his way up to the second floor and beelined towards the room near his which he’d given Meris.
He left a few light knocks on the door.
It took a few seconds and Meris pulled the door open.
The moment she saw him, her face bloomed like a flower, lips stretched in such wide smiles. She moved towards him and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him. "I didn’t think you’d come here, Dante."
Dante’s face darkened.
"You haven’t spent the night with me lately. I’m so happy to see you right now. The bed is made, so you can—"
"Did you ask the maids to put Selene in a storage room," he questioned, cutting her off.
Meris froze.
Her arms slowly fell off his body. She took a step back and met his eyes. Her throat bobbed as she swallowed.
"Answer me," he demanded. "Did you ask the maids to put Selene in a storage room, a place not even the maids would sleep in?"
Meris was thinking of what to do. She was panicking.
At first, she hadn’t thought Dante would care. She’d thought she could do whatever she wanted. But this man right now looked frightening. He looked...
...pissed with her.
And she didn’t know what to do or what excuse to give.
"Dante, I—"
"Answer my question!" he snapped. "Did you give those orders even though I made it clear I wanted her accommodated in a guest room because you know what, she is a guest. Not a dog or a prisoner. Answer my question, Meris."
Meris fidgeted with her fingers. "I-I can explain."
"I am waiting. Tell me why you went against my orders," he demanded.
Her lips parted and closed as she stuttered her incoherent words, trying to figure out what to say.
Dante stared intently at her. He waited for an answer.
She frantically looked around as if looking for anyone who could help her.
"Meris, you—"
"I was jealous!" she spat out.
