His Wild Omega

Chapter 16: I’ll Make You Feel Good

If I tell this idiot his mate tried to poison me, he wouldn’t believe me anyway. And besides, the maids didn’t really have a choice. No need to endanger them any more than this.

She sighed and turned away, saying, "I told you to compensate me by sending me back to my father. You can simply come to a different kind of negotiation."

"I can’t do that. I won’t." Dante was adamant.

She spun around and glared at him. "Then I won’t cooperate."

"Meaning what?"

"What if I put myself in danger constantly, can you really save me each time? If my father demands an answer, can you really prove you are doing your utmost best to keep his daughter safe?"

"SELENE!" Her name harshly rolled off his tongue.

She shrugged. "Then send me back home willingly and save us all this trouble."

"Oh? You’re smart, I’ll give you that." Dante grinned. "You are right that I really can’t prove a thing if you keep getting hurt. It’s not easy handling a stubborn wild thing like you."

"So then?" She folded her arm, smiling. "Shall we make things easy for the both of us?"

He moved, pushing her against the wall with one, swift movement. He vehemently narrowed his eyes on her.

"Sweetheart, I’m not that easy," he growled, "And certainly not when being coerced by you."

Selene’s face switched from certainty to shock and then uncertainty. The smile she held had now fallen from her puffy lips. "What...are you doing?"

He looked down at her curly black lashes, just pitch black as her hair and eyes.

"You know, if I knew you were such a headache, if I had known a problem like you was what your father intended to give to me, I indeed would not have accepted this negotiation."

"So then send me back. You can still re-negotiate," she suggested.

He smirked with only one side of his mouth and lowered himself to be at the same eye level as her. He was close, close enough where the both of them could feel the hot breath coming from the other hit their faces.

Selene swallowed thickly.

"The thing is that, I have a huge ego and we can say I am prideful. I already accepted the deal, and I can only see to the end of it now. Otherwise, wouldn’t that make me weak? Are you trying to say I can’t handle you?"

His eyes hotly raked over her.

"You may be a wild omega, a huge problem, but you’re my problem now, Selene, and I’m not one to admit defeat, let alone be dominated by a crazy little thing like you."

Selene challenged him with an equal stare. "You can’t handle me, Dante."

His head rang. She said his name in such a way... And maybe it was all just in his head, but it sounded so good when it fell off her tongue.

"At the end of the day, I will make you. I will win. You will give in eventually," she said to him, raising her chin defiantly. "After all, how much effort can it take to enrage you, Dante?"

The man’s eye twitched. He ran his tongue over his teeth, nodding as he laughed in annoyance. "You are a walking irritation, I’ll give you that. You sure know how to get on my nerves."

He waved a warning finger at her before he walked away towards the stairs. He made his way to the second floor, then beelined for his master bedroom.

Dante pushed the door open and the very second he took a step in, a familiar pheromone hit him so hard he staggered backward, quickly clutching his head and grunting under his breath.

Meris hurried up from the bed towards him. She wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him. "Dante..."

Her pheromones continued oozing out.

"Dante... Why are you doing this to me?" she asked, sobbing pitifully.

Dante furrowed his brows. His vision almost felt blurry. His headache was excruciating the more he inhaled her pheromones.

"Stop..."

He grabbed her shoulders to push her off him.

"Get off me, Meris. I don’t feel so good..."

He staggered back on his feet. But Meris never let go of him. She held him even tighter, heart pounding at the simple thought that one day, her pheromones might no longer have an affect on him.

"Dante, just let me hold you," she said in a whimpering tone.

The more she released her pheromones, the more quietly she reached for his hand and grabbed it, lifting his wrist to her mouth.

"W-what...are you doing?" Dante had only just asked in his disoriented state when she opened her mouth and stretched her canines long enough to bite into his flesh.

"It’ll make you feel better, Dante," she said. "I’ll make you feel good."

Blood trickled down his wrist, staining the hem of his shirt. He growled in confused state a few more times, before he finally suddenly went quiet.

Meris blinked. She slowly lifted her head and looked at his face. "Dante...are you okay?"

He didn’t respond.

"Do you feel good, Dante?"

Dante lowered his gaze on her. His originally smaller pupils were now enlarged unnaturally.

But by bit, his lips curved into a smile. "Of course I feel good. Why do you ask?" as if a man under a spell, he said, seeming to remember nothing. "Your pheromone really is heavy."

"What do you mean?" Meris asked.

He chuckled. "It’s a bit all over my room."

"Because I missed you." She hugged him even tighter. "Dante, that woman, won’t you get rid of her?"

Dante’s face changed immediately, the smile he held erased from his lips. "Meris, what you’re asking—"

She tipped her head back and locked eyes with him, begging. "I am your mate. Shouldn’t you care more about me? That woman makes me so jealous. She’s always trying to cling to you one way or the other, I can’t stand it!"

"There’s nothing between her and I."

"Does it matter?" she refuted. "Even if she’s a wild omega, she’s still an omega. She can tempt you, she can seduce you, and make you do things. Please...just get rid of her, will you? Send her back for my sa—"

Dante snatched his hand from her roughly.

This startled her.

Wasn’t he in her control? Why did he always seem to break away from her whenever Selene comes into the picture?
