Chapter 915: Chapter 915 Mumma is sick?
Jay proudly brushed his hair back, only sending another little puff of flour into the air.
Bella covered her mouth.
"I cannot believe this."
Jay grinned.
"At least we look clean."
Bella stared at his completely white face.
"Clean?"
"Very clean."
Eli nodded seriously.
"Like ghosts!"
Jay immediately pointed at him.
"Exactly! We are the Cupcake Ghosts!"
Eli’s eyes widened with delight.
"The Cupcake Ghosts!"
Bella looked at the two flour-covered idiots standing in her kitchen and shook her head, smiling helplessly.
"Bella... Bella."
The moment she heard his familiar voice, a smile immediately appeared on her face.
She turned toward the doorway, and soon the sound of approaching footsteps reached her. Leo appeared in the kitchen, his tall figure filling the doorway. His expression was cold and unreadable as usual, but the moment his gray eyes landed on Bella, his eyes became gentle.
He walked straight toward her.
Without saying anything, Leo stopped beside her, slipped an arm around her waist, and leaned down to press a warm kiss against her forehead..
Bella looked up at him with a soft smile.
"You’re back," Bella said, her voice warm.
"Hmm," Leo hummed, his eyes soft.
His gaze stayed on her face for a moment before moving over the flour scattered across her clothes and hair. Then he saw Eli and Jay, both covered even more.
His eyebrow lifted.
"What happened here?" Leo asked, his voice low and curious.
Bella opened her mouth to explain, but before she could, Leo’s attention returned to her. His gray eyes locked onto her face. He leaned closer.
Bella blinked, her smile slowly becoming shy as she realized what he was about to do.
At the same moment, Jay finally noticed.
"Oh, no," Jay muttered, his eyes widening.
He immediately reached over and covered Eli’s eyes with both hands.
"Uncle Jay!" Eli protested, his voice muffled as he tried to pull Jay’s hands away.
"Don’t look," Jay said, his voice firm.
"Why?" Eli asked, his small hands still tugging at Jay’s fingers.
"Because your parents are about to be disgusting," Jay said, his expression pained.
"I want to see!" Eli insisted, his voice rising.
"No, you don’t," Jay said, shaking his head.
"But I’m Big Champ!" Eli argued, puffing out his tiny chest.
"Big Champ can look somewhere else for thirty seconds," Jay said, his voice flat.
Bella barely had time to laugh before Leo gently tilted her chin upward and kissed her lips. The kiss was deep and sensual. Bella’s hands instinctively rested against his chest as she smiled into the kiss. Her cheeks warmed, and her heart beat faster.
Eli continued struggling beneath Jay’s hands.
"Uncle Jay! Let me see!" Eli shouted, his voice desperate.
"No!" Jay said, his hands not moving.
"Why?!" Eli demanded, his small body wiggling.
"Because I said so!" Jay said, his voice exasperated.
Bella finally pulled back, her cheeks warm as she looked toward the two of them.
"Jay..." Bella said, her voice soft but scolding.
Jay still had both hands over Eli’s eyes.
"I’m protecting him," Jay said, his expression serious.
Eli huffed indignantly, his tiny arms crossing over his chest.
"I am Big Champ!" Eli declared, his voice full of pride.
Jay sighed, his shoulders dropping.
"Yes, yes, you’re Big Champ. But even Big Champs don’t need to watch their parents kiss," Jay said, his voice tired.
Leo looked at Jay, then at Eli, and the faintest smirk appeared on his usually expressionless face.
Bella noticed it and laughed softly.
Soon, Bella somehow ended up with three helpers in the kitchen. Although judging by the amount of flour covering the counter, the floor, and two very proud little helpers, she was beginning to think she would have been much better off doing everything herself.
Still, seeing Eli’s bright little face made it impossible for her to complain.
He carefully carried one of the cupcakes over and placed it in front of her as though he had created a masterpiece. His small hands were steady, and his eyes were full of pride.
"Wow, my cupcake looks pretty, Mumma," Eli said proudly, his little eyes shining. Then he pushed it toward her. "You try first."
Bella’s heart immediately melted.
"Awww..."
She looked at his tiny, hopeful face and couldn’t possibly disappoint him.
"Okay, Big Champ," Bella said, her voice warm.
She picked up the cupcake and took a small bite.
For the first second, she didn’t notice anything unusual.
Then suddenly, something changed.
The sweet smell that had seemed pleasant only moments ago suddenly became overwhelmingly strong. The scent of baked chocolate and butter filled her nose and a wave of nausea rose through her stomach so abruptly that her entire expression changed.
Bella froze.
Her smile disappeared.
She quickly covered her mouth.
Leo noticed immediately.
"Bella?" Leo asked, his voice sharp with concern.
She couldn’t answer.
Another sharp wave of nausea hit her and she hurriedly turned away from the counter and rushed toward the sink.
She barely reached it before she bent forward and vomited.
Eli’s little face went pale with surprise.
"Mumma?" Eli asked, his voice small and frightened.
Leo’s expression changed instantly.
He hurried after her, reaching her side and placing one hand gently against her back while the other moved her hair away from her face.
"Bella..." Leo said, his voice filled with concern.
She continued vomiting for a few moments, her body trembling slightly from the sudden sickness.
Leo slowly rubbed her back.
"Easy... take your time," Leo murmured, his voice soft.
Behind them, Jay and Eli had gone completely silent.
Eli looked genuinely frightened.
"Mumma is sick?" Eli asked, his voice trembling.
Leo glanced back at him.
"She’s okay, little champ," Leo said, his voice calm.
But his own worried eyes remained fixed on Bella.
When the nausea finally eased, Bella stayed bent over the sink for a moment, breathing shakily.
Leo reached for a glass of water and held it out to her.
"Here," Leo said, his voice gentle.
Bella took it with slightly trembling fingers and rinsed her mouth before slowly straightening.
Leo immediately looked at her face.
"Are you feeling better?" Leo asked, his eyes searching hers.
Bella nodded weakly.
"I... I don’t know what happened," Bella said, her voice shaky.
Her eyes moved toward the cupcakes.
"That smell suddenly made me feel so sick."
Leo followed her gaze toward the tray.
His expression remained concerned.
"You don’t have to eat anything," Leo said, his voice firm.
Bella looked at him, then at Eli, who was still staring at her with worried little eyes.
She forced a small smile.
"I’m okay, baby," Bella said, her voice soft.
Eli’s little eyebrows remained knitted together.
"But you threw up," Eli said, his voice small.
Bella crouched carefully in front of him and gently touched his cheek.
"I’ll be okay," Bella said, her voice gentle.
Eli looked at her for another moment before wrapping his tiny arms around her waist.
Bella’s heart softened immediately.
She hugged him back, while Leo stood beside them, his expression still thoughtful and concerned as he watched his wife closely.
