Chapter 913: Chapter 913 Interested

"I liked the way you dealt with him," Bella admitted. Her voice was quieter now. Not only now. Whenever he dealt with anyone in front of her, she felt hot.

The smirk on Leo’s lips deepened. "I noticed."

Bella’s cheeks warmed slightly. "You noticed?"

"I noticed the moment you started looking at me differently," Leo said, his voice low.

She tried to look away.

Leo caught her chin gently between his fingers and turned her face back toward him. His touch was light but firm. He wasn’t going to let her hide.

"Don’t suddenly become shy now," Leo said. His voice was soft but firm.

"I wasn’t shy," Bella protested. Her eyes darted away.

"No?" Leo asked. His eyebrow rose.

"No," Bella said. Her voice was small.

"Then look at me," Leo said gently.

Bella lifted her eyes to his.

She immediately regretted it.

His expression was an intense ocean of love, drowning her in it. His gray eyes were dark, deep and completely focused on her. Like she was the only thing in the world that mattered.

Leo’s thumb brushed lightly along her chin before he let his hand fall but his gaze stayed fixed on hers.

"You liked seeing that side of me?" Leo asked again. His voice was softer now.

Bella smiled. "I’ve always liked that side of you."

"Hmm," Leo hummed. His eyes never left hers.

"And don’t look so pleased with yourself," Bella said. Her tone was playful.

"I’m not," Leo said. His expression was innocent.

"You are," Bella insisted.

"I simply find it interesting that after all these years, my wife still gets impressed when I become a little frightening," Leo said. His voice was warm.

Bella rolled her eyes. "Impressed isn’t the word."

Leo’s eyebrow rose. "Then what is?"

She looked him over deliberately. From his face to the gun still in his hand and back again. She let her eyes travel down his body and back up. She didn’t rush.

"Interested," Bella said. Her voice dropped.

That single word wiped the teasing amusement from his face for a second.

"Careful, bunny," Leo warned. His voice dropped lower.

Bella’s smile became wider. "Why?"

"You know exactly what you’re doing," Leo said. His eyes darkened.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," Bella said. Her expression was innocent.

"Of course you don’t," Leo said. His voice was low.

Leo stepped closer until there was barely any space left between them.

Bella’s back stayed against the wall but she made no attempt to move away. Instead, she looked up at him with that same playful expression, clearly enjoying the effect her teasing was having on him. Her heart was beating faster now. She could feel it in her throat.

"You know," Bella murmured. Her voice was soft. "You’ve become very arrogant with age."

Leo gave a low chuckle. "And you’ve become very bold with age."

"Maybe I learned from you," Bella said. Her eyes sparkled.

"That would explain a lot," Leo said. His lips curved.

He leaned closer. His lips brushed against her ear as he whispered.

"Then perhaps I should be more careful about what I teach you," Leo whispered.

A tiny shiver ran through Bella. She immediately looked up at him.

"Why?" Bella asked. Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Leo’s eyes met hers. The corner of his mouth lifted.

"Because my lessons seem to be making you far too bold," Leo said. His voice was low and rough.

Bella smiled. She refused to back down. "Maybe I like being bold."

"I’ve noticed that too," Leo said. His eyes darkened.

His fingers gently settled beneath her chin again. He tilted her face toward him.

"And perhaps," Leo murmured, "you should remember that provoking your husband has consequences."

Bella’s eyelashes fluttered. "Are you threatening me?"

"No," Leo said. His voice dropped lower.

His thumb brushed lightly over her chin.

"I’m warning you," Leo whispered.

She stared at him for a moment. Then a mischievous smile returned.

"And what if I don’t listen?" Bella asked. Her eyes challenged him.

Leo’s eyes darkened with amusement.

"Then I’ll have to remind you," Leo said. His voice was dark and deep.

Bella’s heart gave an embarrassing little flutter.

She tried to hide it by looking away. But Leo noticed immediately.

Before Bella could say another word, he suddenly slipped one arm beneath her knees and the other around her back. He lifted her effortlessly into his arms.

Bella’s eyes widened.

"Leo!" Bella gasped. Her hands flew to his shoulders.

He started walking toward the stairs.

"Put me down! Put me down!" Bella protested. She instinctively wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "Everyone is looking at us!"

Leo didn’t even slow down.

"No one will look," Leo murmured. His voice was calm.

As they passed the guards and maids, Leo gave them one cold glance.

Every single person immediately lowered their eyes. No one dared to look. No one dared to breathe too loudly.

Bella stared at them in disbelief before hiding her face against his shoulder.

"You’re terrifying," Bella muttered against his neck.

"I know," Leo said. His voice was low and amused.

"Leo!" Bella protested again.

His lips curved faintly as he carried her upstairs.

The moment they reached their bedroom, he pushed the door open and stepped inside. His foot nudged it shut behind them. The click of the lock sounded loud in the quiet room.

Bella barely had time to lift her head before Leo gently backed her against the wall. His arms were still around her. His warm and lsolid body pressed against hers.

Her breath caught.

The playful smile on his face had disappeared. Replaced by that intense look she knew far too well. His gray eyes were dark and hungry. Focused on her like she was the only thing in the world.

"You were saying something downstairs," Leo murmured. His voice was low.

Bella blinked up at him. "What?"

"That you were interested," Leo said. His eyes never left hers.

Her cheeks immediately warmed. The heat spread down her neck and across her chest.

"I... I don’t remember," Bella said. Her voice was small.

Leo leaned closer. His forehead almost touched hers.

"Convenient," Leo said. His voice was thick with desire and amusement.

Bella smiled nervously. "Maybe."

His dark gray eyes looked into her brown eyes without blinking.

"Still interested, bunny?" Leo asked. His voice dropped to a whisper.

Bella looked into his eyes.

This time, she didn’t look away.

"Maybe even more now," Bella whispered.
