His Identical Sons Led Him Back to Her

Chapter 130: A Hero Saves the Beauty

As if she hadn’t noticed him watching, Amanda Vance glanced at Holly Vance and immediately assessed his condition. He was merely unconscious—nothing serious.

Her gaze then fell on the club lying beside him, and a flicker of derision crossed her face.

’Heh. And here I thought he might have a clever plan. Turns out he just wanted to club me unconscious.’

’Beating his own daughter... Only he would stoop to that.’

Samuel Ford was the one who had knocked him out, so he had also noticed the club. He frowned and asked in a low voice, "Is he really your father?"

It was no wonder he asked. What kind of father would treat his own daughter that way?

"He is." Amanda Vance didn’t seem to mind. She even managed a smile as she turned to look at him. "My biological father."

’Her mother had been madly in love with him, so there was no doubt he was her biological father.’

’Tsk. For some strange reason, she was almost disappointed.’

Amanda Vance looked at Holly Vance, her gaze turning frigid.

Seeing her reaction, Samuel Ford fell silent. He had looked into her background: her birth mother had committed suicide years ago, and her stepmother had moved in almost immediately after. The fact that Shirley Vance was only a month younger than Amanda proved her father was scum, but he hadn’t realized the man was this depraved.

’If that club had connected, and if Amanda hadn’t been able to defend herself...’

As if reading his mind, Amanda Vance got up and dusted off her hands. "Don’t worry," she said. "He’s too much of a coward to actually kill someone."

’At most, he just wanted to teach his ’ungrateful’ daughter a lesson.’

Pursing his lips, Samuel Ford asked, "So what are you going to do now?"

A smile touched Amanda Vance’s lips, but she said nothing. She opened her car door, bent down, and retrieved a needle case from inside. Her slender, pale hand deftly pricked him a few times with a Golden Needle. Samuel Ford’s gaze flickered, but he remained silent, taking a quiet step back until he was in Holly Vance’s blind spot.

A moment later, Holly Vance stirred and slowly came to, clutching his head with a pained HISS. He was dazed. ’How did I get here? Why does my head hurt so much? Right... I was going to find Amanda Vance and settle the score!’

’It was Amanda who caused all the company’s problems.’

At this thought, he shot to his feet, swaying as a wave of dizziness hit him. He steadied himself and glared furiously at Amanda Vance. "You ungrateful wretch!" he spat. "Amanda Vance, I’m asking you! Are you the one behind the company’s troubles?"

Amanda Vance toyed nonchalantly with the Golden Needle and gave him a sidelong glance. "If I said it wasn’t me, would you believe it?"

"Of course not," Holly Vance retorted instantly, as if her denial was just a pathetic excuse. His glare grew even more hostile. "What’s the matter? I thought you were so tough. You have the guts to do it, but not to admit it?"

’That wasn’t it at all.’

’She had never hidden her intentions. The Vance Family... she was determined to bring them down.’

"Not bankrupt yet?" Amanda Vance mused, rubbing her chin as she noted he was still in a suit. She shook her head. ’I’ve been so busy with the hospital lately, I completely forgot about the Vance family.’

Holly Vance was left speechless by her tone, his face flushing crimson with rage as he glared at her. "Amanda Vance!"

Amanda Vance nonchalantly cleaned out an ear. "Present. I can hear you."

Glancing at him, she continued, "The way you go on about ’the company,’ you’d think it was yours. Holly Vance, do you even remember who the original owner of this company was?"

Her tone was deceptively calm, yet laced with a hostility that made Holly Vance’s face go pale. He immediately became furious again. It was hard to tell if it was because she had called him by his full name or because she had dredged up a past he considered taboo. His finger trembled as he pointed at her, seething, "You!"

Amanda Vance’s eyes instantly turned glacial. With a SWISH, the Golden Needle flew from her fingertips. He let out a piercing "AAAH!" and doubled over, clutching his wrist. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead from the searing pain.

After letting him scream for a moment, Amanda Vance retrieved the Golden Needle. She glanced at the man sprawled on the ground, her expression full of disgust and loathing. Looking down at him, she said, "I told you not to point at me. Next time, you can say goodbye to that hand."

With that, she turned and walked toward her car. After a few steps, she stopped and looked back at him, a mocking smile on her face. "And another thing. Since when did my mother’s company become yours? Holly Vance, you’re nothing but a cuckoo in another’s nest. Have you possessed what you stole for so long that you’ve forgotten it was never yours? Remember this: this is just the beginning. I will take back every single thing you owe my mother."

Without another word, she ignored the pathetic man on the ground and pulled open her car door.

The next moment, Samuel Ford emerged from behind the pillar. He shot the man on the ground a look of disgust before striding over and getting into the car.

Sensing a presence beside her, Amanda Vance froze for a second. She turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow slightly. "President Ford?"

Samuel Ford turned to face her. "Yes?"

’Shouldn’t I be the one asking that?’

’What is he doing in my car? And buckling his seatbelt so proficiently... Doesn’t he think this is a bit inappropriate?’

After a moment of deliberation, Samuel Ford said, "Shawn Ford took my car. Would you mind giving me a ride home, Dr. Vance?"

Amanda Vance was taken aback. ’It’s not that I can’t, it’s just... this is very strange. Why is he suddenly acting like this?’

After a moment’s thought, she asked, "Is something wrong, President Ford?"

She was so direct that Samuel Ford found it difficult to brush her off with an excuse. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Is it that obvious?"

’A little.’

’He looks like he has something weighing on his mind. Plus, he’s been acting strange today.’

’At the very least, this isn’t something he would normally say.’

’He wouldn’t get in her car, and he certainly wouldn’t ask her for a ride home.’

Samuel Ford understood as well. To be blunt, their relationship wasn’t that close yet. He was just feeling agitated about the child at home, and for some reason, he had driven to the hospital. He’d arrived just in time to see her heading to the parking garage and had followed her on instinct.

He even felt a sense of relief that he’d come, especially at the moment he’d knocked Holly Vance out.

He didn’t understand these feelings; it was the first time he’d ever experienced anything like it.

"President Ford?" Seeing him frowning and lost in thought, Amanda Vance waved a hand in front of his face.

Samuel Ford snapped out of it. As he looked at her, the turmoil inside him gradually settled.

"Are you all right?"

"Yes, I’m fine."

It was rare to see him like this. Her fingers tapped on the steering wheel. He had helped her just now, and though she hadn’t needed it, she appreciated the gesture. So, she said, "It’s getting late. How about you stay at my place tonight, President Ford?"

Realizing her words could be misconstrued, she paused before adding, "It is your house, after all, President Ford."

Samuel Ford looked at her and slowly nodded. "Alright."

Seeing him agree, Amanda Vance gave a nod, started the car, and drove off.

Glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, she asked casually, "So, President Ford, are you dealing with some kind of intractable problem?"

’That wasn’t an inaccurate way to put it.’

’He really didn’t know how to solve it.’

After a moment’s thought, he nodded.

Seeing this, Amanda Vance was a little surprised. She had only been asking offhandedly; she hadn’t expected there to actually be a problem.

Now she was genuinely curious. "What kind of trouble are you in, President Ford? Are you at liberty to say?"

It wasn’t a secret. Samuel Ford spoke two words: "A child."
