Chapter 2147: Chapter 621: Why Am I the One Suffering When the Vinegar Jar Tips Over?

"Move."

Qin Mu’s voice was cold as she spoke to him. Seeing that he didn’t move, she went to push him.

Mu Yichen slanted a glance at the little one in the car, who was curiously watching them. That kid’s eyes were so pure, untouched by the world, just innocently watching the show, yet they were enough to throw President Mu’s mind into chaos.

Qin Mu suddenly felt a sharp pain at her waist. Mu Yichen’s hand had already gripped her slender, easily encircled waist.

In the blink of an eye, they were at the driver’s side where the little one couldn’t see. Mu Yichen’s low, heavy breathing lingered by her ear. Qin Mu didn’t dare to breathe too loudly, just lowered her eyes and stared obediently at his shoulder.

"Since Mrs. Feng has already gone to the office building and looked for Yang Qin, you must already know that Yang Qin is about to be transferred, right?"

That sentence sounded like a question, yet not really a question.

He was very sure she knew. He was only asking for the sake of it.

Qin Mu didn’t lift her gaze. She could feel him staring at her, as if she were standing naked in front of him, but she still didn’t want to talk to him more about Yang Qin.

"You think I’m different with her? Just because I asked someone to help her grandmother? Or because I carried her when she fainted?"

Seeing that she remained unmoved, Mu Yichen, for some unknown reason, actually brought up such a question.

Qin Mu felt as if an icicle had suddenly been driven into her heart. She raised her eyes, her sharp gaze locking onto his dark pupils.

"Can we pick another time to talk?"

Qin Mu still didn’t give him an answer. She only softly made this suggestion to him, then glanced back at the little one behind them.

But from her composed, unruffled eyes, Mu Yichen saw her stubbornness, and then, unwillingly, he let her go.

"I’ll drive you."

He had his own stubbornness too. Without another word, he pulled her aside, took the car keys from her hand, and got in the car.

Qin Mu stood there blankly for a moment, looking at the driver’s seat. In fact, from outside you couldn’t see anything inside, so she could only give up and turn to get into the passenger seat.

"I want to go to the mall."

Qin Mu said to him in a low voice.

The little one in the back was babbling happily, trying to tease them, as if wanting them to be happy and turn around to play with him. But only Qin Mu turned and gave him a smile. The little guy’s two hands immediately waved excitedly, then very quickly looked at Mu Yichen. It was just that his uncle-in-law was clearly not as easygoing as his aunt.

After the car entered the city it slowed down and stopped at the entrance of a large shopping mall. Mu Yichen took the stroller out of the trunk. Qin Mu put the little one in and then took over the stroller. "If you’re busy, go ahead and work. I’ll walk him around and then take a taxi back."

Mu Yichen didn’t say anything. He just got back in the car and drove off.

Qin Mu stood to the side watching, and for some reason suddenly let out a helpless little laugh. Then she looked at the little one in the stroller. That little guy always liked to smile at her, so she couldn’t help feeling happy too, and pushed him into the mall.

"Xiaonao, Auntie’s taking you to buy toys! Ignore that guy!"

Qin Mu chattered to the little one, Xiaonao, as she headed straight for the elevator and went up.

Thinking about the nickname Xiaonao, Qin Mu actually thought it was quite funny. Wang Huanyu had said that Qin Mingzhu had been a handful since she was little, and the second son especially had a temperament just like Qin Mingzhu’s, so they called him Xiaonao—Little Troublemaker.

Just like how the name Chengcheng came about, simply because Qin Mu had loved eating oranges when she was pregnant. Honestly...

Qin Mu pushed Xiaonao further in, first buying him a toy he seemed to like—neither too big nor too small—and put it in the stroller for him to play with. Just as she was planning to go buy some snacks with him and walked out of that international chain counter, she saw Mu Yichen standing off to the side.

The salesgirls from several counters around him were all standing at their doors, staring at him, all curious about who he was waiting for. It wasn’t until Qin Mu came out with the child that he finally lifted his eyes from his phone, and everyone’s gaze also found the person he’d been waiting for. Then they craned their necks even more, eager to see something special happen.

Only...

"What else do you want to buy?"

Mu Yichen walked over, slipped his phone into his pocket, then wrapped one arm around her waist.

Qin Mu instinctively lowered her head to glance at the hand around her waist, then continued walking forward as if nothing had happened.

"Just browsing."

Just browsing?

Mu Yichen’s brows furrowed slightly as he mulled over those two words, but his hand did not loosen its hold on her.

It was always like this after every fight. A few days later, after he’d digested it himself, he would start trailing after her—wherever she went, he followed—then pick some appropriate moment to "pow" and make a move, and then they would be reconciled.

Whenever Qin Mu thought about their post-argument routine, she felt speechless. It was childish to the point that it made her a little tired of it.
