Chapter 3002: Chapter 15: Gathering from All Directions

Boom!

A fierce rush of air, wrapped in chaotic Magic Power fluctuations and mixed with fragments of metal and wood, sprayed into the Wandering Bar like a torrential downpour. The deafening blast instantly drew the gaze of every Wizard in the room.

Including that Multi-arm Tribe Attendant who was already hiding in the metal cabinet under the bar.

He stretched out two arms to hook onto the edge of the bar counter, only letting a pair of eyes peek out toward the source of the explosion, wanting to get a look at the wizard world’s number-one beauty.

But to his surprise, what entered his field of vision wasn’t Su Shijun, who had just spoken, but a young Hunting team. They wore uniform Hunting Clothes, and the Law books at their waists shed a faint glow of Magic Power as they unfolded a battle array that looked loose yet linked together in perfect order, revealing no flaw. Not hurried, not slow, they advanced down the corridor filled with billowing dust.

The customers who had originally gathered together quietly and swiftly scattered in all directions, silently touching their own Law books to show their intention to remain neutral.

The Witch leading the Hunting team looked a bit familiar.

The Attendant raised one arm from his back to scratch his head, struggling to recall her identity—which was a bit difficult, because the Wandering Bar had lots of customers coming and going every day. There was no way he could clearly remember every guest who had ever been here.

"Hiss... feels like her name is right on the tip of my tongue, why won’t it come out?"

The Attendant propped his chin with two hands, scratched his head with two more, and crossed another pair over his chest, muttering as he let out a rather troubled sigh.

"——Jiang Yu."

A pleasant voice answered for him from beside him.

The two hands under his chin dropped away; he smacked a fist into his palm as realization dawned. "Right! The eldest miss of the Zhongshan Jiang Family! She’s been to our place several times, how did I forget... hic!"

Only then did he register that someone behind him had spoken. He turned his head and was immediately so startled he hiccupped. Because the person standing behind him was Su Shijun.

Even though she was wearing glasses.

And was currently facing away from him, selecting bottles of liquor.

That peerless grace still made the bar Attendant forget to breathe for an instant.

Hearing someone call her name, Jiang Yu abruptly halted her steps. Her gaze swept once over the sniffling Zheng Susu, confirming that she was safe and sound, then shifted onto the person who had just called out to her.

"——Su Councilor."

She greeted her politely.

Though her tone and attitude were impeccable, everyone present inexplicably felt a chill crawl over them. The hall, already hushed, grew even quieter.

Including Zheng Susu.

Realizing that two Witches had appeared in the Wandering Bar one after the other, the Great Elf’s little face instantly fell. She shrank in place like a frightened quail, doing her utmost to lower her sense of presence.

As for the Black Wizards who had surrounded her earlier, once they noticed that Big Wizards were getting involved, they didn’t dare move a muscle—good news being that neither Witch’s gaze had lingered on them for even a moment from beginning to end.

The atmosphere on-site settled into a suffocating silence.

Jiang Yu hadn’t expected to run into the owner of Greenhill Mansion so soon, and her position was suddenly a bit awkward. In principle, the Great Elf’s household registration was with Greenhill Mansion, so the woman behind the bar selecting liquor seemed more qualified to handle this matter. By contrast, her stepping in at this moment felt somewhat lacking in legitimacy.

And Su Shijun clearly hadn’t anticipated Jiang Yu appearing here either, so she was also somewhat caught off guard—given some rumors she’d heard recently, she felt it necessary to have an honest talk, so she began seriously considering what kind of drink Jiang Yu might like.

Green Bee, too frivolous.

Sea Monster Langmu, low-end and brutish.

Amber Light seemed the most appropriate, but was a bit too conservative and reserved, lacking the passion and fearlessness of youth.

Just as she hesitated, another lazy voice rang out in the hall.

"——Yo, quite lively in here."

Everyone’s heads snapped around again in unison, following the sound. They saw a Black Cat that looked almost like a leopard saunter out of the shadowed corner of the bar. Behind it walked a Warlock in a blue robe with his hair tied in a Dao topknot.

Black Wizards were a well-traveled bunch.

When their eyes landed on the black triangular emblem on the chest of that blue-robed man, it was like they’d been stung; they all shrank back at once. Several Wizards who had been weighing whether to try mediating this conflict immediately backed out.

Reason being simple.

Getting into spats with Noble Wizards, there were at least some unwritten rules you could follow. But if you crossed certain school departments, that truly fell under "punishment unknowable and power immeasurable," and even taking it all the way to Danghag wouldn’t help.

The appearance of the Black Cat did a fine job of breaking the awkwardness in the air.

"What are you doing here?"

Behind the bar, Su Shijun had already decided to mix two cocktails. Upon hearing this, she lifted her lids and glanced at the Shadow Cat, hinting at something. "——I thought that at this hour, you’d be somewhere else."

"Why am I here?"

The Shadow Cat twitched its ears and snorted in disgruntlement. "You think I want to come? Wasn’t it you who set me as the secondary emergency contact back then? If I’d known you were here, I wouldn’t have bothered! If you ask me, as long as those few little brats are still on Buji Island, we shouldn’t be stepping in at all. If they stir up trouble, let them settle it themselves. They have to learn how to handle these things. You can’t watch over them their whole lives, can you? As for ’somewhere else’..."

It looked left with ill intent, then right.

"——You two aren’t somewhere else, so why assume I would be somewhere else?" Its riddle-like reply sounded like a tongue twister, making many people in the hall feel as if their hearts were being scratched by a cat.

"What about these ones?"

Jiang Yu cut off the Shadow Cat’s teasing and turned back toward Zheng Susu and the four Black Wizards around her. "——Should they be sent to Danghag or the Black Prison?"

Why Danghag?

Why the Black Prison?

Those two names made most of the Wizards present jolt inwardly. This was a tiny little staged accident case; aside from losing a few gold beans, the "victim" hadn’t even been hurt. Was it really worth a trip to Danghag?

Let alone the Black Prison!

The Black Wizards involved felt the world spin. —Was the Black Prison really a place for small fry like us?—Especially when they noticed that the Big Wizard behind the bar and the Black Cat in front of the blue-robed man both seemed to be seriously considering those two options.

A somewhat disordered tread of footsteps came from outside the door.

Soon, a large group of Wizards poured in through the entrance. Spell Light of various colors flickered as they sealed off every exit of the Wandering Bar. A Witch with long silver hair stepped forward from the crowd, hesitated as she glanced at Su Shijun, Jiang Yu, and the blue-robed man, then finally raised the scroll in her hand:

"——I am Katherine, captain of the Law Enforcement Team of the First University’s Edge Academy. By order of Vice-President Korma, we are seizing the Wandering Bar and carrying out emergency arrest of four Wizards suspected of fraud... Who’s responsible for the Wandering Bar?"

The Black Wizards involved were so moved they nearly wept.

For the first time, the phrases "suspected of fraud" and "emergency arrest" sounded so sweet to their ears. They even enthusiastically dragged the Multi-arm Tribe Attendant out from behind the bar and eagerly shoved him in front of Captain Katherine.

"Him, he’s the person in charge here!" The Elder Wizard who had been screaming about his broken ankle hobbled forward on his bad leg, vowing solemnly, "When the Wandering Wizard isn’t around, he handles everything! I’ve stayed in this place for long enough, I can vouch for that!"
