Chapter 2934: Chapter 1152: A Different Possibility
Bang!
With a loud bang, the entire Cloud Sea World seemed to lean in another direction.
The massive Taiyi had no power to resist under the hammering of Leviathan, being smashed around futilely. The time stop of the silver pocket watch was effective, but time couldn’t pause forever. Leviathan’s hammer would strike in the first instant when time began to flow again, while the scattered talisman bullets from the two charm guns were deftly avoided by Leviathan’s nimble small form, leaving only deep marks on the poor Cloud Sea’s surface.
The remaining Law book was tightly grasped in Zheng Qing’s hand, as a line of hope, he dared not open it before absolute despair.
Bang!
Almost at the same time, a dull crash sounded outside the altar.
The Leviathan transformation curled into a ball was struck by the tail of a greenish dragon, spinning around the altar like a ball, matching the scene inside and outside.
Yet Zheng Qing couldn’t laugh.
Bang—!
Two heavy sounds resonated almost simultaneously, inside out and outside in, unexpectedly resonating with the Yin Yang Prohibition structuring Taiyi. Zheng Qing felt as though he was being kneaded by an invisible giant hand, his figure hanging over the altar in a peculiar S-shape, kneeling and bowing, head lowered, eyes vacant.
In that moment when the resonance arose, his soul seemed to accidentally ’touch’ a place extremely high and distant, where endless flowing brilliance dazzled, revolving in a dizzying manner. When his soul touched one of those streaming lights, it was as if he’d stepped into a turbulent river, swept away by the rushing waters.
After the panic subsided, realizing there was no risk of drowning, Zheng Qing gradually calmed down.
He then discovered he seemed to be sitting on a ’small boat’, a boar without bow or stern, without sides, sails, oars, or cabin, only a thin thing beneath him like a deck.
A thin layer of five-colored radiance blossomed around, isolating the streaming lights sweeping past the ’small boat’ swiftly.
Zheng Qing clenched his fist and hammered the deck beneath him.
Dong dong sound.
It sounded very solid.
Gave a sense of reliable safety.
He tentatively stood up.
Looking around, he first carefully examined the ’small boat’ beneath him, growing more familiar with the sight, after long scrutiny, he finally reacted that the deck supporting him was shaped exactly like a maple leaf.
Thinking of the maple leaf, he immediately recalled the gift sent by his teacher last month for his birthday.
So, for unknown reasons, he was now at a higher-dimensional place?
Zheng Qing could only guess this possibility.
If he was currently in a high-dimensional world, then what were those flying streaming lights around?
Sitting on the leaf boat for a long time, thinking for a long time, Zheng Qing finally exhausted his limited patience, stretched out a finger, poking at the layer of five-colored brilliance, his finger felt no resistance, easily probing out, touching a bit of streaming light.
Bang!
Zheng Qing felt as if a raging Fire Dragon had collided with him head-on, making him fall backward.
Countless scattered images roared toward him like an avalanche, Zheng Qing wanted to retract his arm, yet his finger seemed glued to the fine stream of light, a succession of unfamiliar yet familiar voices cluttered his ears:
"—Is it worth it?"
"—The value of a cup of water is completely different at the lake edge or in the desert. Value depends on what people are willing to pay for a concept... as long as I think it’s worth that much, then it is worth that much."
"—Death turns us into angels, letting wings grow from our shoulder blades like crow claws. We love this school deeply, so we transform into angels to guard its tranquility."
"—If your idea of tranquility means turning the magical creatures in Silent Forest into spirits, it’s too awful... that’s not tranquility, it’s deathly silence."
"—You all forced me! I didn’t originally want to do this! You all forced me!"
"—God created angels... does it mean death is divinity?"
"—Any concept worthy of worship belongs to the domain of deities."
"—Caw!!!"
The rough and sharp crow caw overshadowed all noises, becoming the only sound echoing in Zheng Qing’s ears. Following it, a dark scene suddenly appeared in his line of sight, small at first then rapidly enlarging, rushing towards him, completely engulfing his consciousness.
The next second, Zheng Qing came to himself, looking around, darkness all around.
A massive crow hovered not far from him, roaring towards the sky, the sharp grating ’caw’ echoing throughout the entire space.
Zheng Qing realized, here should be the scene he saw in that image.
And that crow—
A guess flashed through his heart, he lowered his head, surveying the surroundings, seeing only chaos, with giant pits surrounded by uprooted trees lying haphazardly, the air filled with the scorched stench of magic spells and ravaging thunder and lightning.
For unknown reasons, Zheng Qing felt the shape of that pit was somewhat familiar.
"—Are you a student at Jiuyou Academy? Why haven’t you evacuated from here? Are you trying to get yourself killed?" An angry rebuke sounded in his ear.
Zheng Qing turned around, seeing the hefty figure of Ms. Bella, the head nurse of the school hospital, clad in a somewhat dirty white robe, rushing around.
"Zheng Qing?"
She obviously recognized the identity of this former frequent visitor to the school hospital, her gaze lingering on Zheng Qing’s badge on his chest, frowning deeply: "—The assistant teaching group is truly messing around, this occasion isn’t meant for you low-level assistants to participate!"
"Can you see me?" Zheng Qing had an expression as if he’d seen a ghost.
Ms. Bella showed an ’I knew it’ expression, grabbing the boy, dragging him away from the giant crow, shaking her head as she did: "Hit on the head by the aftereffects of the previous high-level magic spell? Don’t panic, just ease a bit, use some La Plata water, you’ll soon recover..."
Zheng Qing had not recovered from the shock of being seen by this ’NPC’, instinctively asking back: "—What happened? Sorry, I mean, is that big crow Professor Montreya?"
Ms. Bella’s face showed anger and disgust again: "Don’t call him professor! He’s no longer your professor! What kind of professor falls completely in front of the students and messes up the academy?"
Academy?
Is this an academy?
Zheng Qing looked numbly at the surroundings akin to ’wild lands’ baptized by Silent Black Tide, unable to relate them to the academy in his memory.
But with this reference, he realized what the pit he saw earlier was.
Judging by its shape, it should be the dried-up Lin Zhong Lake.
