Chapter 2915 - 1134: Awaken, Taiyi!
Chapter 2915: Chapter 1134: Awaken, Taiyi!
Zheng Qing did not notice the subtle fluctuation in the depths of his Conscious Sea.
In this moment, he was like a newly hatched fledgling, eyes dark and wide, nervously huddled where he stood, greedily curious as he surveyed this utterly new World.
The vision of a Legendary Wizard is completely different from that of an ordinary Wizard.
In the span right after Zheng Qing first opened his eyes, he could not understand this World at all, only felt himself wrapped in strands of different colors and varying thicknesses, like a bird trapped in a cage.
Those lines rolled, traded places, flickered, leaving patches of varicolored fragments upon his retina.
But very quickly, as his blood seeped into and dyed those lines red, as one line after another of Spell script flashed across the Armor Battle Dress, the lines vanished into the void one by one, and the surrounding environment gradually returned to the World he recognized.
This, in fact, was the greatest function of the Battle Dress: "dimensional descent," or perhaps "re‑encoding" is more accurate—it converts, as completely as possible, the information received by Legendary senses into a level that Zheng Qing, at his current stage, can comprehend and accept.
Like a newborn infant.
Zheng Qing’s eyesight also grew bit by bit.
At first, he could only clearly see his own hands raised before his eyes, and the blue‑green flagstones beneath his feet; soon, he could see the White Jade railings encircling the altar; then the thin Mist, the low altar walls, the resplendent dome, and the faintly visible azure alien Dragon drifting in the Cloud Sea.
Only, unlike the dim and oppressive feeling he’d had earlier at the foot of the Primordial and Taiyi altars, now he felt that this little square was filled everywhere with breathtaking beauty—the Starry Sky of the dome, every star flickering according to a wondrous rhythm, hanging there seemingly motionless, yet Zheng Qing could distinctly discern that they were all following some trajectory, continually making minute shifts; the blue‑green flagstones underfoot were not truly a single shade of blue‑green, but a fusion of thousands of different colors, with strings of tiny Rune characters threaded between them like hinges, linking them together; even that ring of low altar walls at the end of the altar, the statues on the frieze were not dead stone—within each panel, it seemed, a World’s reflection was contained, so that at a single glance he felt as if he were personally experiencing everything Artu Groot had gone through back then.
Beyond that, there was also the familiar and comforting aura that rose now and then from the Magic Power nodes scattered around—Zheng Qing almost immediately realized that the talisman boards used at those nodes were the small errands he had once completed.
It was a strange yet deeply satisfying sensation.
Yes, satisfaction.
Zheng Qing closed his eyes, feeling a lazy comfort as if soaking in a hot bath.
His consciousness diffused along with the fine trickles of blood flowing outward, spreading in all directions, from Taiyi’s feet to Its crown, to Its fingertips, Its strands of hair. Zheng Qing felt as though he had truly become a Giant, become Taiyi.
He could clearly perceive a wisp of drifting cloud in the Cloud Sea sliding across Taiyi’s skin, and just as clearly sense the blood‑red moon above Its head radiating a gentle, soothing warmth.
Exhale!
Inhale!
His breathing surged like a hurricane sweeping across the Cloud Sea. The Phoenix Robe, thin as an eggshell, now revealed astonishing resilience—no matter how many Wind Blades brushed across it, there was not the slightest sign of it fracturing.
The entire World was reflected within Zheng Qing—or rather within "Taiyi’s"—awareness: from the twin moons overhead to the rolling mountains underfoot, everything was insignificant, save for two other auras that could rival his own.
One was farther away, its aura gloomy and chaotic.
The other was right at hand, yet somewhat flickering and unstable.
The former was Professor Montreya, who had harnessed "Primordial"; the latter was Elder Ruoyu. When Zheng Qing realized this, the previously empty altar abruptly expanded in all directions, and the figures of Ruoyu and Montreya appeared one after the other upon the altar—not true bodies, nor projections, but forms conjured virtually from Magic Power.
"—The fact that you can see me means you have formally taken control of Taiyi. Or rather, that Taiyi has truly accepted you."
Elder Ruoyu’s phantom looked squarely at the Young Wizard before him, lifted a hand and tapped his own eyes, explaining with earnest calm: "Our eyes may be directed outward, but nearly everything happens within our hearts. This altar is where outer aspect and inner aspect interact. Put another way: everything ’Taiyi’ is capable of observing will be displayed upon this altar. This is a process of dimensional descent, meant to let you understand everything It perceives. Likewise, everything you display on the altar will be synchronously manifested upon ’Taiyi’... For example, if you nod on the altar, the Taiyi outside will nod along with you. Every word you speak upon the altar, Taiyi will faithfully relay to the outside, without falsehood."
No wonder that, back inside Primordial, Professor Montreya upon the altar had kept silent from beginning to end, and even his few movements had been highly restrained.
With sudden insight blossoming in his heart, Zheng Qing grew all the more cautious. He did not speak aloud, but posed his question within his mind.
"—Then I’ll ask... oh."
The moment the first syllable flashed through his mind, a somewhat mechanical voice echoed simultaneously through the stone cavern, and almost at the same time Zheng Qing received feedback from Taiyi’s body, realizing that this mode of exchange was called "heart‑voice"—if he wanted Taiyi to maintain a calm and dignified facade before others, then using heart‑voice to communicate with people would be the best way.
On the premise that the other party could be perceived by him and drawn onto the altar.
"—Now, try standing up and walk a couple of steps." Elder Ruoyu’s staff tip lightly tapped the air before the boy: "Don’t worry about trampling flowers or grass. Everything in this World exists for Primordial and Taiyi."
As he spoke, He faintly furrowed His brow and cast a glance toward another direction of the World.
Zheng Qing caught that subtle anomaly almost at the same instant. At a single thought, he discovered that on the other side of the World there was yet another "Elder Ruoyu," brandishing his cane as he fiercely thrashed the colossal "Primordial"—like a mosquito biting an elephant, only the one fleeing with his head in his hands was in fact that elephant.
He did not find the scene amusing; instead, his sense of urgency sharpened.
Because he knew Elder Ruoyu was buying him time. In another ten‑odd minutes, if he still could not truly drive Taiyi, then the one being beaten into clutching his head would become him.
At that thought, he immediately held his breath and began Concentrating, and upon the altar, he tried to take a step forward.
The entire altar seemed to tremble because of that single step.
At the same time, Zheng Qing felt as though he were aboard a small boat on a boundless ocean—though he had clearly planted his foot and stood upright, his legs went weak against his will, as if the whole World were rejecting him, flooding him with a strange, indescribable emptiness.
