Chapter 889: Chapter 358: You Have a Younger Sister!_3

On holiday, I just want to hang out.

This event was initiated by my roommate Lin Xiaoyu; mainly she wanted everyone to meet her boyfriend.

Wang Manqi hadn’t told those friends much recently, only that she found a job, without specifying any details.

It’s hard to explain, and they might not believe it even if she did.

A person who previously struggled hard to find a job with an 8,000-yuan monthly salary now suddenly has a monthly salary in the tens of thousands with all sorts of benefits. Who would believe that?

She took out a piece of clothing from her closet, a gift from Liu Ruyi, from a very famous luxury brand, where even a screw-like earring could cost twenty to thirty thousand.

However, neither Liu Ruyi nor Song Yu wore such things usually.

They preferred wearing a brand called Jinyue, which was a self-operated brand of Green Water Heaven and Earth.

To Wang Manqi, those clothes were just fashionable, they looked good, but didn’t have the attributes of luxury items and were not fitting for their status.

The clothes Liu Ruyi gave her were from before Jinyue appeared, stock they had on hand and hadn’t worn before.

After changing clothes, she got in her car and headed to the agreed-upon mall.

Today’s dining place was quite common, after all, Lin Xiaoyu couldn’t possibly spend thousands to treat them.

After parking the car and arriving, she found that others had arrived earlier.

Present were two women and three men.

She knew two of the men, but wasn’t familiar with the other one.

"Xiaoyu!"

She walked over to greet Lin Xiaoyu, who quickly invited her warmly to sit down.

Wang Manqi was long used to others’ gazes; even though she was just wearing an ordinary outfit today, she would be stared at no matter where she went.

Only the gaze of that unfamiliar man was particularly blatant...

After she sat down, Lin Xiaoyu immediately said, "Manqi, let me introduce you, this is my boyfriend’s company general manager, Li Dong. He’s a rich second generation, running a company just for the experience. He heard we had a gathering and came to join us for fun."

After the introduction, Lin Xiaoyu whispered in Wang Manqi’s ear, "This guy is a top-tier rich second generation. Be proactive; this is the best I can do for you."

Li Dong, thinking he showed a gentlemanly smile, reached out his hand and said, "Wang Manqi, right? Hello, hello."

He had only heard about how beautiful Wang Manqi was but hadn’t expected her to be this extraordinarily stunning.

He considered himself well-versed and noted that many women who looked good online were quite ugly in reality.

Even social media influencers with hundreds of thousands or millions of followers could be unsightly in person, their confidence coming from beauty filters.

But before his eyes, Wang Manqi was undoubtedly the most exquisite woman he had encountered, without exception.

Her figure was top-notch, and to him, her looks were also top-notch, yet this kind of person still gave off a very pure vibe.

He was undoubtedly smitten.

Wang Manqi panicked.

The other party extended his hand, and she didn’t dare to shake it.

In the past, it would have just been a handshake, after all, he was a rich second generation.

But now...

She glanced at Lin Xiaoyu, realizing something was off about this dinner.

Simply, she stood up and said, "Xiaoyu, sorry, I have something to do, I need to leave first."

Li Dong’s awkward expression froze on his face, his outstretched hand lingering in the air.

Lin Xiaoyu’s expression changed too.

"Manqi, there’s no need for such a flimsy excuse, what’s going on?"

Wang Manqi figured she might as well be frank and said, "I thought this was just a simple classmate gathering. After arriving, it didn’t feel that way. I’m not comfortable with this kind of situation, sorry."

By this time, Wang Manqi had already picked up her bag.

Li Dong spoke, "I get it. You’re blaming me for being here then, fine, I’m leaving!"

He got up and left.

Though not a top-tier rich second generation, he had never been embarrassed like this before.

The event hadn’t even started yet.

Wang Manqi was indeed a beauty, but she was still just a girl of ordinary background.

He hadn’t given up, but that didn’t mean he was without a temper!

If Wang Manqi had been proactive, he might have given more; now he’s upset, even if he succeeds later, he won’t pay more.

Lin Xiaoyu was anxious, "Wang Manqi, what are you trying to do? Hurry up and bring back President Li! Apologize to President Li!"

Wang Manqi said, "Xiaoyu, this matter has nothing to do with me. It was you who didn’t tell me in advance. If you had, I wouldn’t have come. I’ll pay for this meal, sorry."

Lin Xiaoyu yelled, "Who do you think you’re fooling with that generosity? Wearing fake stuff and thinking you’re really wealthy? I’m telling you, you missed out on the richest person you’ve ever met, and you made him angry!"

"Then so be it!"

Wang Manqi couldn’t be bothered, she left with her bag.

However, she didn’t actually leave the mall, instead had a quick bite and roamed a few luxury stores.

Even now, she still couldn’t afford to buy anything.

Only later, after she had left, did Song Yu happen to arrive at the store and spot Wang Manqi.

She was also there to purchase something, for her sister.

They were almost identical in build, so what she bought would certainly fit.

"What was the lady earlier interested in? Pack it up and send it over, on my tab. Also, ask around at nearby stores what she liked and pack those as well, send them over..."

...

In the parking lot, Li Dong was still in a bad mood.

Lin Xiaoyu proactively apologized to him and promised to help him win over Wang Manqi, after which he returned for the meal with everyone else.

During the meal, he learned a piece of news.

It seemed Wang Manqi was already being kept by someone.

Damn!

A cheap woman, and she’s putting on airs!

He planned to leverage money to make Wang Manqi submit when he got back!

Is a hundred thousand enough? Is two hundred thousand enough?

He had plenty of money!
