High Martial: I Use Everything as Swords

Chapter 409 286: A Pseudo Tier Four Godly Spear Appears, and the Su Family's Eldest Young Master Pays a Visit

  • Next Chapter

East Sea City, Inner City District.

Within a lavishly decorated and sprawling manor.

The Su Family's eldest young master, Su Jian, sat in a leather chair in his study, his face dark.

He was the Su Family's direct heir, possessed an Enlightenment Realm Peak Cultivation, and was hailed as a once-in-a-century genius. He was also the key figure for the Su Family's upcoming expedition to Dragon Abyss.

In preparation for the Dragon Abyss trip, he was preparing to break through to the Divine Containment Realm while also working around the clock to gather equipment.

The Su Family was in the arms business and owned several of East Sea City's largest munitions factories and Artifact Refining Workshops.

Normally, getting any equipment he wanted should have been as simple as saying the word.

But today, the manager in charge of the workshops brought him bad news.

"Are you saying that the clients for the dozen or so custom Spiritual Soldiers scheduled to be forged this month have all canceled their orders?"

Su Jian toyed with a pair of Tier Four Demon Beast Nuts used for finger-strength training, his voice betraying no emotion.

The manager standing before the desk wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and bowed to a ninety-degree angle.

"Y-Yes, Eldest Young Master.

Several Mercenary Corps and families had agreed to order our newly released 'Flowing Light Series' Tier Three Top Grade Equipment. They had even paid the deposits.

But in the last couple of days, they've all backed out, willing to forfeit their deposits to cancel the orders."

"The reason?" Su Jian's hands stilled.

"They... they said they found a better source in the Black Market, one that can get them Quasi Tier Four, or even... stronger equipment."

The manager stammered.

"The Black Market?"

Su Jian sneered, and the Demon Beast Nuts in his hand made a grating, teeth-cringing sound as he ground them together.

"A bunch of rats scrabbling for a living in the sewers can forge Quasi Tier Four equipment? What a joke!"

How many Tier Three Peak Artifact Refiners did his Su Family employ?

They even had a Tier Four Basic Level Artifact Refining Grandmaster, hired at great expense, overseeing their operations.

Even so, mass-producing Quasi Tier Four equipment was next to impossible.

'What makes the Black Market so special?'

"Have you found out who it is?" Su Jian asked.

The manager's expression soured further as he hemmed and hawed.

"We... we have. But the clients who canceled are tight-lipped.

All we know is that their surname is Han. Nothing else.

No matter how we threatened or bribed them, even offering double the price for information, they refused to reveal a single detail about that Artifact Refiner."

"Furthermore..."

The manager swallowed hard. "One of the patriarchs of a smaller family even said he would rather offend our Su Family than dare to leak that master's identity.

He said that... that person not only has god-like skills but also a bizarre temper and kills without batting an eye."

"Oh?"

Su Jian raised an eyebrow, a flicker of interest in his eyes.

'They'd rather offend the Su Family than that mysterious person?'

'On our Su Family's turf here in East Sea City, besides the military and those old monsters from the Martial Arts University, when did such a character appear?'

'And they dare to steal the Su Family's business at such a critical time.'

'They clearly have no respect for me, the Eldest Young Master Su.'

Su Jian stood up and casually tossed the nuts onto the desk with a dull THUD.

He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, sneering as he gazed down at the brilliantly lit city district in the distance.

"Interesting."

"Since these cowards don't dare to speak, I'll go meet this 'grandmaster' myself."

He turned, adjusted his collar, and a dangerous glint shone in his eyes.

"Get the car ready. We're going to the Black Market."

"I'd like to see just what kind of 'immortal' dares to snatch food from my Su Family's bowl without even coming to pay their respects."
