Chapter 306: Chapter 178: One Year Later, the Day Travel Realm

How could they possibly have any courage left to face their enemy together?

Their eyes held nothing but boundless terror and a single thought—get away from this monster.

A serpentine streak and a pink streak of light fled for their lives in opposite directions.

Li Wen watched coldly.

He didn’t give chase. Instead, the hand holding his silver blade slowly rose, leveling it before his chest.

Upon the blade, the lingering, stardust-like sparks of lightning seemed drawn by some force, silently gathering, stretching, and coiling.

A heart-stopping, bone-chilling killing intent began to permeate the air.

Fifth Form—Dark Firmament, Soul Abyss!

Two threads of blade energy, as fine as strands of hair and almost completely transparent, formed from pure Blade Intent and the power of annihilation, flashed through the void and vanished.

Their speed surpassed the limits of perception, as if teleporting, instantly crossing the vast distance to the fleeing Dark Pupil Snake Demon and Fu Ye the Fox Demon.

The two fleeing demons froze abruptly.

The light in the Dark Pupil Snake Demon’s eyes instantly died. A thread-thin line of blood silently appeared, running from its brow to its heart, and down to its Dantian.

Fu Ye’s demonic aura suddenly collapsed. A trace of disbelief and profound unwillingness lingered in his eyes.

He opened his mouth, but no sound came out. His body went limp and collapsed, the last of his life force extinguished.

As for the Rock Tortoise Demon, who had been heavily wounded earlier by its ally’s golden light, it was already paralyzed in the distance. The combined impact of Ling Feng’s Universe-Sundering Golden Gang and its own shattering shield had demolished most of its shell and severely damaged its internal organs. Only a faint flicker of Demon Power proved it was still clinging to life.

When Li Wen’s cold gaze swept over it, an imperceptible wisp of Blade Intent brushed past. This final descendant of a Demon Emperor died without so much as a cry.

From Li Wen’s lightning-fast arrival to the five descendants of Demon Emperors becoming five cold corpses, the entire process took less than ten breaths.

The battlefield fell into a deathly silence.

The only surviving Human Race adepts of the Great Sun Realm and Flying Star Realm remained in their defensive formation, but they were all dumbstruck, frozen in place like statues.

As for the remaining demon soldiers and commanders, who had been so menacing under the leadership of the five descendants, they were now utterly terrified.

Like a disturbed hornet’s nest, they scrambled away in every direction, wishing their parents had given them two more legs. Not one of them dared to look back.

Li Wen watched the Demon Race flee like beaten dogs, a glint of ice in his eyes. He had no intention of showing mercy or holding back.

His gaze, sharp as a blade, locked onto the Demon Race members who hadn’t yet managed to escape the battlefield.

His principle was simple and cold: kill every last member of the Demon Race he could. Never show mercy.

He moved like the wind, leaving a faint afterimage in his wake.

Li Wen’s speed was unimaginable. In a few flashes, accompanied by several short, shrill screams, the few scattered Great Sun Realm demons who tried to flee were all slain.

The flashes of his silver blade were precise and deadly, with not a single wasted motion.

However, the sheer number of Low Tier demon soldiers was overwhelming. Like a scattered ant colony, they swarmed into the dark wilderness, dense forests, and deep ravines.

Even Li Wen, for all his power, could not intercept them all. He could only watch as most of the lesser demons from the Bright Moon Realm and Flying Star Realm escaped.

When not a single member of the Demon Race was left standing on the blood-soaked battlefield, Li Wen came to a halt amidst the corpses.

He slowly raised his hand and sheathed his blade. A soft CLICK echoed, exceptionally clear in the sudden silence.

He didn’t pause for a moment to survey the field of carnage.

With a flicker, he appeared before the few Human Race adepts, who were covered in wounds and barely able to stand.

Their armor was shattered, their auras depleted. Their eyes still held the dazed shock of having survived the ordeal.

"What’s the situation?" Li Wen’s tone was as casual as a simple greeting, as if the shocking feat of instantly slaying five descendants of Demon Emperors and clearing the battlefield was no more trouble than brushing dust from his sleeve.

The captain in command, an adept at the Peak of Great Sun Realm, was soaked in blood.

It was he who had just been painstakingly using his Dao Realm Cultivation to hold the crumbling defensive formation together. Li Wen’s voice pulled him back to reality.

He looked at the young man before him, whose aura was calm, almost restrained. He swallowed hard, the muscles in his face twitching with emotion.

It was a complex mix of emotions: the elation of survival, awe in the face of absolute power, and shock that had yet to fade.

His voice trembled uncontrollably.

"Rep... Report, Inspector Li! For... fortunately, you reinforced us in time! The fortress is secure! The crisis... is over! Our side..."

He gritted his teeth against the pain, glancing at his battered but still-breathing comrades. "Our core defensive force... suffered heavy losses, but a few of us are still left! It’s all thanks to you arriving when you did!"

He couldn’t dare to imagine what would have happened if Li Wen had arrived even a moment later. The Xilin City Stargate fortress would likely have become another pile of ruins for the Human Race.

Li Wen nodded slightly. "Mm."

He showed no hint of pride. His gaze shifted to the broken shield, the burning ramparts, and the Stargate, which continued to slowly rotate, pulsing with a faint blue light.

"Clear the battlefield immediately. Prioritize treating all survivors and stabilize the defensive line."

His orders were crisp and clear. "Send a detailed report to central command. Include the enemy’s scale, high-end combatant composition, and... our precise losses."

"Yes, sir! Understood!" The captain forced himself to focus and immediately began rallying his comrades who could still move.
