Chapter 303: Chapter 177: Instantly Killing the Demon Emperor’s Descendants

Several Great Sun Realm Godfiends were already severely wounded, their breathing shallow as they were protected in the center.

The light of their protective True Essence flickered everywhere, ready to extinguish completely at any moment.

"Hold the line! Reinforcements will be here soon!" The captain of the Human Race swung his sword, cleaving apart the force of a crashing black, demonic-flame hammer, yet blood still seeped from the corner of his mouth.

His voice was hoarse, yet carried an unyielding will born from desperation.

The eyes of his teammates around him were filled with determination or grief-stricken fury, but all of them gritted their teeth, rooted to their posts.

A deep gash, exposing the bone, was torn into one squad member’s left arm by the blade of the Peng Demon, Lingfeng. Blood stained half his body, yet he still raised his sword to parry the poison whip of Dark Pupil.

"Damn it, how are these members of the Human Race so much tougher than the last bunch we ran into?" The Roaring Fierce Tiger Demon’s hammer missed its mark, slamming into the earth and creating a massive crater that sent rubble flying.

He had a volatile temper and was eager to shatter the Human Race’s formation.

"Hmph, it’s just their death throes!" The voice of the Peng Demon, Lingfeng, was a piercing screech. His figure was still a blur, even as he dodged the retaliatory energy bursting from the Human Race’s formation.

"Everyone, stop holding back!" The Fox Demon Fu Ye’s voice, cool and urgent, rang out again, tinged with a barely perceptible anxiety.

"Unleash your Divine Techniques! We need to end this fight with all possible speed! Any delay invites disaster!"

As he cast his techniques to suppress the Human Race captain’s counterattacks, his gaze vigilantly scanned the sky beyond the battlefield.

That nagging feeling of unease still lingered in his heart.

’Since the humans consolidated their counties and cities, the defensive forces at every pass have skyrocketed. Their reinforcements might also arrive faster now... We can’t let our guard down.’

"Brother Fu, you’re way too cautious! What’s there to be afraid of!" the Roaring Fierce Tiger Demon retorted dismissively.

"Haven’t we already mapped out the locations of all the Human Race’s top experts? Even if the nearest reinforcements set out this very second, it would take them three to five minutes to get here at the absolute fastest! Is three to five minutes not enough time for us to tear these broken remnants to shreds?

With you, Brother Fu, and the rest of us here, plus all these elites, taking a fortress like this—one without a true Marquis-level expert in command—is child’s play, isn’t it?"

His voice was filled with absolute confidence in his own power and utter contempt for the Human Race.

"Exactly," the Peng Demon, Lingfeng, added haughtily. "Don’t worry, Brother Fu. With the five of us combined, so what if we run into a Human Race Marquis? Even if we can’t beat them, with our abilities, you think we can’t make a clean getaway?"

His eyes shone with absolute faith in his own speed.

"That’s right. Let’s end this quick, take what we need to take, destroy what we need to destroy, and get back to report. That’s the sensible thing to do."

Panyan’s deep, monotonous voice rumbled. Though his defense was unparalleled, his attack speed was rather slow, so he was just hoping to end the fight quickly.

The Fox Demon, Fu Ye, looked at his companions, who were brimming with confidence and radiating power. Within them, the bloodline of the Demon Emperor seethed with a potent and violent energy.

He sighed to himself. ’Sigh... a bunch of reckless fools! How could the Blue Star’s Human Race have survived this long if they were so simple? Every time we underestimate them, we pay a price!’

He knew he couldn’t convince these proud, arrogant companions of royal lineage to unleash their trump-card Divine Techniques—moves that would consume their core bloodline essence—for an all-out, unreserved assault.

Nor could he unleash his own Talent Divine Technique by himself.

Unleashing a Talent Divine Technique not only consumed a massive amount of True Essence, but more critically, it required burning the precious power of one’s core Demon Emperor bloodline.

Once a large amount of this bloodline power was consumed, their strength would temporarily fall from its peak. Although it could be recovered slowly over time, the longer they remained in this perilous land before recovering, the greater the risk.

However, their confidence in launching a raid of this intensity was founded on extensive intelligence analysis; they were certain they had mastered the data on the distances between the Human Race’s fortresses, the composition of their garrisons, and... the arrival window for the fastest possible reinforcements.

As long as they ended the battle within that window, they would be safe.

However, it was precisely this momentary hesitation born from Fu Ye’s suspicion, coupled with the arrogance and carelessness of the other four scions of the Demon Emperor, that made them miss their one and only chance to sense the approaching mortal danger and escape in time.

In that moment of negligence, at the very edge of the horizon, a streak of golden light—so faint it was almost imperceptible—was piercing through thousands of miles of clouds at a speed beyond imagination, rocketing toward the gruesome Asura battlefield.

The iridescent light was so fast that by the time it entered the sensory range of the battlefield’s experts, they had less than a single breath’s time to react.

Fu Ye snapped his head up to the sky. His fox eyes, which could perceive all things, suddenly constricted to the size of a pinprick. Reflected in their depths was a magnificent golden rainbow that now filled the heavens and tore space asunder!

A terrifying killing intent that made his very soul tremble, like a million ice needles, instantly pierced through the din and chaos of the battlefield to lock onto him with pinpoint accuracy.

That cold aura, like death itself, caused a single thought to detonate in his mind:

’It’s over!’

The Fox Demon Fu Ye’s Demon Soul trembled in terror as the icy premonition of death instantly seized his heart.

However, while his warning shriek was still rumbling in his throat, a blazing golden light tore across the sky, descending upon the battlefield at a speed that surpassed the perceptual limits of every demon present.

The air let out a piercing wail from the extreme friction, and the ground was plowed into deep furrows by an invisible shockwave.

In the massive pupils of the Roaring Fierce Tiger Demon, the earlier savagery was replaced by pure, unadulterated horror.

It wasn’t just him. The Peng Demon Lingfeng’s thought processes, which he prided on their speed, froze. The heavy armor of the Panyan Turtle Demon suddenly felt weightless. The cold, slitted pupils of the Dark Pupil Snake Demon contracted violently.
